Tekken 7: Roger cut due to animal activists, Kuma still in

VG247 talked with Harada. It's a long article but the end is priceless:
Meanwhile Roger Jr, the boxing kangaroo, has sadly been cut. “There was a video of a man’s dog being headlocked by a kangaroo, and he punched it in the face”, Harada says. “It turned into a big problem. People were complaining about him punching a kangaroo. It seems that in the last few years there’s a lot more animal activists – even though they probably wouldn’t play our game they would still hear about that, about a kangaroo in our game being punched, and would complain about it.” Kuma the bear is still in the game, though, because a bear is “obviously stronger than a human being”.

Make me a bear if old.

Good. They should just delete roger anyway, we all know Alex is superior.

It doesn't read as if animal activists actually did anything. In fact, it reads more like a pretty transparent - albeit hilarious - excuse.

Bullshit decision/excuse by whomever made it.

If your dog is in trouble you are justified in punching a kangaroo. They are strong animals.

Its not like he shot it or pursued it afterwards.

Is this not a Harada Joke™? Reminds me of claiming he would cut Lucky Chloe and replace her with some buffed-up wrestler dude for western players.

Sounds like he completely made the animal activist complaints up so he could avoid saying "We cut Roger because we didn't want to use development time on an unpopular character" and receiving real complaints from actual real people

Edit assuming this isn't an actual joke lol

That's a joke people. Harada is like that. He's pretty much saying "duh! You know why he isn't in the game!"

Harada is aware of how the western gaming press overreacts to things and is using that to make a joke. It's totally obvious.
