I hope they're working on some kind of day one patch to fix these loading times. Reminds me of the Tekken 6 PS3 nightmare!

I've only seen 18-20 load times for this game. Tekken 6 was over 40 seconds sometimes if it was running off the disc. I'm sure running it off an SSD should improve it

That's still a lot for a fighting game, when you can finish a 2/3 round match in less than a minute. Whatever, still my most anticipated game!

you can bet your ass that the scorpio will be the definitive console version

Precisely the reason I have it ordered for Xbox One. Even if it looks like ass initially.

Cannot wait to see it on Scorpio.

It'll look good on Scorpio and PC.

But if you're looking to play the game for a while online, PS4 would be the only option.

I haven't kept up with any talk about online crossplay though.

Harada says it will look better on Pro compared to regular ps4
He said can't talk about Scorpio yet.

Cool he said that now, lol. When one of the developers (or marketing guys?) was asked about the improvements on the Pro on a stream some time ago, he basically was like: Nah, there isn't really any difference, the PC version will however look amazing! They were presenting the PS4 version. That was so weird and just terrible marketing.

Normally I would, but with Scorpio on the horizon I gotta train my hands again on their pad for fighting games. Already started to get used to things a little with KI but it's a slow process with me.

A little gift from me to you guys, if this hasn't been done already. I just find it hilarious.

Man I really wanna get this on xbone for eventual Scorpio but would miss the ps4 exclusives... Hmm what to do what to do

it depends on what you care about generally speaking. it still comes down to whether power or visual fidelity is most important. Its even harder if one owns a Pro, as that will likely be where Scopio lands outside of resolution.

So, whats the word on Akuma from anyone whos played/watched the arcade version?

I was picking it up regardless, but now that I can play my SF main in Tekken, I might have to let Bryan take the backseat for a while.

Buy the PS4 version first and then wait for the price drop on the XB1 version. That is my plan.

Xbone arcade sticks and FGC in total tho? Will be played most on the PS4.

Hori is putting on the XB1 Tekken stick. I prefer the design they did for the XB1 ver over the PS4 ver.

tekken PC players going up against users who have been playing for 2 decades

For me, I've played Tekken since 95. But after moving away from consoles I haven't really played since Tekken 6. I played some TTT2, but that was with some friends. So I probably haven't been serious about Tekken for about 6 or 7 years.

But yeah I'm sure there will be some PC gamers who have never played Tekken.

I thought they were done revealing all characters? Post launch seems like will be guests characters

Not necessarily. Nothing has been confirmed either way. All we know is that Harada said they would not sell classic characters, thus they wouldn't be a part of the season pass. Tekken Tag 2 had a handful of post-launch characters released for free, though they were mostly near-clones and were already in the game files at launch if I understand correctly. It kind of hearkened back to time-released characters in the arcade.

Harada said

In the past, we had to stop all updates and support within 2months after launch(Because no development Budget).
With Season Pass, we can guarantee one year of Additional Development Cost and development Team (Retention of development team structure) from our Company/Publisher.
Also, we do not sell classic Tekken characters, Paid DLC will be special content. With this system, we can do free updates and support for a long time.
This is what I've been saying in an interview article (I have talked about it in several interviews before, so please read it).

I think there's at least potential for more classic characters to come in free updates.

You're correct there. In the UK at least those characters were actually pre-order bonuses to get them early. In packs of two different retailers got early access codes to unlocking those characters. I imagine it was the same in the rest of the world.

Well there were the preorder bonus characters, Michelle, Ancient Ogre, Kunimitsu, and Angel, which were eventually made free for all, then, over the course of two or so months, they added Slim Bob, Prototype Jack, Alex, Forest Law, Sebastian, Miharu, Dr. Bosconovitch, and Unknown. It was more of an unlock though, as the data had been found on the disc on day 1. But there is some precedence for post-launch characters. They also added a couple of stages.

Where did the Xbox Scorpio fans get their information again?
Is there any announcement about the Scorpio version?
I mean it's nice if it would get a proper treatment to run the game at a higher resolution (and settings) but it's way to early to start talking about that.
I'm not sure but I don't think there is not even significant PS4 pro enhancement features.
I'm sure it will run at least at a higher resolution (to be honest I don't think that the console versions will constantly run at native 1080p) but that's speculation for a later time.

PC population will be not the biggest but I'm sure they will gather a quite dedicated fanbase thanks to the lower entry price (you can get the game from legitimate key sellers for 40€ now) and no other equivalent game with that content and good press.

I'm definitely going to be one of them. =)

The only thing Harass has said is, that it will look better on the Pro compared to the vanilla PS4, and that he can't talk about the Scorpion right now. That's all.

But seeing how the Pro will bring enhancements, one would assume the Scorpion would so too.

I would be shocked if "Harada" said it would look worse. Of course it will run in a higher resolution, that's what the pro is known for.

What's next, a better gpu allows higher settings?
😅

In a TEKKEN Talk stream that MarkMan was in recently, they didn't talk up the Pro version differences as much as one would expect.

I'm personally expecting it to be a slight graphical upgrade and not much else.

You asked about the Scorpion version, and I just told you it came from the horse's mouth, that's all.

Didn't he say that he doesn't know much about it as of now?

They probably don't have the dev kit yet

Pro and Scorpio versions won't be much different in visually, having the main most userbase plus exclusive contents
Pro would be the definitive console version over Scorpio by far

yeah i meant just by performance wise, the xbone version will be the best bet for scorpio (for those who don't play on PC) but overall the best place for tekken will always be playstation

they have to incorporate michelle and julia somehow, the mishima zaibatsu ransacked julia's home in tekken 2 and it was within her tribe that heihachi heard about ogre

Ha, I'm not invested in goofy fighting game storytime, but if that ensures a return of the Chang style of fighter, I'll take it.

Random thought but I wonder if the story will have some veterans appear who aren't playable at launch that will be added as free DLC later on?

Basically what SFV seems to be doing with the 2017 character pass but for free instead.

you know something, whether or not sf5 had a controversy about a lack of single player stuff, i think tekken was going to deliver on a story mode anyway. perhaps they added more, perhaps not, after the fact but

tekken games, starting with tekken 4 did add more emphasis on story, even if the story sucked in certain ways. tekken 4 had a story mode separate from arcade mode and tekken 6 had scenario campaign

edit: my post was just a rant lol but i take it you don't play tekken for the story?
