In order for me from most favorite (and basing this purely on looks):
Byte & Barq: There's a fucking robot dog assistant here and it's cute! Also I love the robot wind-up policeman aesthetic the main guy has too. Also the character has one of my FAVORITE color schemes for robots, like legitmately it's the same color scheme I used in Phantasy Star Online's character creator for a robot character I played as. So that's a triple win for me.
Kid Cobra: I love the front and back 'sleek' design of the character, the Snake theme, and the posture. Color scheme and odd proportions here work well.
Ribbon Girl: I like the ribbon motif in general and she has the right edge of cute but tough looking. Also her fucking alt color is sick.
Twintelle: I love that her hair is the 'arms' here and the drill form, and she herself looks good, and the mask is my favorite out of the characters facial wears.
DNA Man: Love the morphing blobness of the character and its silly face, pulsating arms... I don't know, I kind of already loved glob monsters and this one strikes up my alley. I even love the silly multi-color appendages sticking out.
Mechanica: Always love characters driving robots, and love how the arms can change. Love the sci-fi/toy mix the mech has going for it, and various design details on the suit.
Ninjara: Love the posture and the chain arms with the blades just are cool to me.
Min Min: I love, LOVE the dragon dragon & spinning arms, but her actual outfit reminds me of ramen and I'm not big on it.
Master Mummy: I like the mummy motif and the different bulkier fighter build, and the mummy straps work well for the purpose. I kind of am not big on his actual hands though, they don't really fit the mummy or fighter build he has to me.
Spring Man: I kind of like his color scheme, but not big on his arms or spring motif personally.

I know fan artists and people alike have a habit of exaggerating butt sizes in fictional characters, but nah man - Twintelle's butt is as extra thicc as it comes.
I find him both less bland than Ribbon Girl, but at the same time he's still the lamest.

well those posts were being very rude towards me. seems pretty even.
Wasn't super interested in this game beforehand just to give you an idea, but don't really dig any of the designs. They look too much like Pixar characters. I also really dislike the spiral design they use to give the characters long arms.
Not saying they're bad designs, just not a visually appealing or interesting set of characters to me.

I like how the two most popular male characters are the ones that aren't even human. That's how the hierarchy goes.

I would say that describes Min Min more. Her body is very athletic. Twintelle definitely has some tone and muscle, but her figure is still more movie star than athlete.

Please show me an athletic young woman with an ass like that. The only comparative ass that comes to mind is Nicki Manaj's or Kim Kardashian's, both of which are definitely not athletes, but celebrities.
I think Ninjara looks pretty cool - I'm surprised Spring Man of all people is beating him. Must be the whole fidget spinner hate craze that's going on atm. Otherwise, yeah, normal dudes are very often boring af.
Pretty much. Minmin fits the athlete archetype. She's got some Chun-Li athleticism going on down there, it's why she's expressly said to use legs in her fighting style.
Twintelle on the other hand? Yeah that's only "fit" for the fashion and image.

I've been reading your posts on the ARMS thread for a while and I think you got caught up in a vicious cycle.
So lets try the following: Ignore all the comments, hot takes and preferences and just focus on the character.
Twintelle is a lady actress with her own perfume, a strong personality and a unique ARMS form. She is clearly fashionable and as is the current style, she uses a super tight outfit and walks like walking down a red carpet. Look at the way her body is build, top to bottom. She doesn't have an ample butt just because, her body is a classic athleticand healthy build that usually takes very dedicated daily training to achieve.
Not only that, its a design that is very unique for a Nintendo game. She is dark-skinned, she is self-aware of her sex appeal and she acts like the "Ojou" archetype, like a confident princess.
Now, if the character was JUST the butt it wouldn't be as popular as it has so quickly. Its the design around the butt. Anyone can draw a butt with a crayon and a peach for reference. You need a whole design around the butt to make it work. Or, you know, you need an actual character to be appealing for it to be something to talk about this much.
Now, people like to simplify everything. Hell, the game itself makes an effort to give their characters simple, to the point names. If Spring Man was named, say, Elastico Bouncer, he would probably be nicknamed Spring Man anyway by the fandom. Look at how many people talk about Byte and Bark: They describe him as "The robot with the dog!" because that is instantly recognizable. Min Min is constantly refered as Ramen Girl and that is with Min Min been shorter.
There is a character built in Twintelle, she is character who is in the Grand Prix to promote herself and her image, of course she will use clothes to reflect that. It just makes sense in universe, it makes sense in her design and it sure as hell makes sense that people will be blown away by her sexyness.
Nintendo made a brilliant design, they actually made a realistic Bayonetta.
Oh, also, derailling the thread is when users start talking about something other than the purpose of the thread, and since we are taking about the best designs, and why is your favorite, saying its her butt is within that. Some people just like good ol' butts. Butts are nice. You need them to sit. I wish I had a decent butt, mine is inadequate for sitting too long.

Anecdotal, but I've found that women tend to have different proportions than men. Relatively wide hips and bust compared to waist. Men seem to have broader shoulders. Genetics, perhaps. I've heard that sexual dimorphism is common among some animals, maybe humans are among them.

Big, toned butts, sure, but I'm talking a real FAT ass. Like the celebs I mentioned - their asses match Twintelle's more, IMO. But maybe I haven't done enough ass research to make that call tbh...
Well, for starters, the human body is usually like this:
Of course, there is all kinds of body types, but on average the male butt takes a a firm, square shape on atheltic males, while the female butt takes on a more curvy shape.
Ninjara is actually a good example of this:
Now, I can't speak for people attracted to the male butt, but I have to wonder how attractive it is, judging by the poll not that much, since the top ranking male character is the blob.
Anyway, its not true that only female characters have perfect bodies in media. All the clearly human characters in this game are attractive in some way to someone, personally I really like Min Min because I have a thing for short hair and cold eyes, but if you pay attention you'll see people mentioning the calves of Spring Man, for example.
And, yes, I do agree there is a focus on sexualty in media, but the thing is, human beings are sexual by nature. Of course there are boundaries in sexual and social issues, but honestly you can find that everywhere and anywhere, and this game is not defined by it at all. Twintelle is a bad example of a sexualized character without purpose and designed just for the male gaze. She is both interesting and attractive, wouldn't you agree?

Either way, it doesn't matter if it's closer to a celebrity or an athlete. The point is that they obviously exist.

Women on average have large waists and bigger butts than men. It isn't some patriarchal conspiracy. It's genetics and for evolutionary reasons. If you wanted to make a comment on why there isn't more body diversity, just say so.
I think you're greatly exaggerating. Her butt is not nearly Kardashian big. It's about the size of most athletes that participate in sports that are primarily lower body, which, like I said would be tennis, volleyball, the shorter track events, etc

larger waist, yes. larger butts, not from what i have observed. its not really a gender difference, as both males and females can have them.

Women tend to have larger hips and breast it's where fat often tends to be deposited first. Men are more susceptible to truncal obesity which is the stomach region. As far as health conditions are concerned it's by far the more dangerous region for body fat to be deposited.
muscle mass exists and can be increased by constant exercise and muscle stress. also men are more varied in body fat distribution/ratios than most people seem to realize.

Lack of body diversity in video games is a worthwhile conversation, but I think fighting/sports games are probably not the best place. I don't want to make sweeping generalizations or anything, but humans, both men and women, who participate in competitive sports tend to be in peak physical condition.
And athletic men have smaller, squarer butts than athletic women.

Which doesn't change the facts of anything I said. No one is denying other body types exist, but on average women WILL have large hips/waists and butts. Again, this is a fact. Not to mention a more muscular butt will also be bigger, not smaller (rather, it'll appear bigger because muscles will give it a "lift" so to speak)
i think it's obvious that female chars having balloon sized butts has nothing to do with adhering to some reality you may have imagined.

The only unforgivable thing here is Clayfighter not having a game in 2017.

I don't know where you live where the vast majority of female character butts in games are considered "balloon sized"
it's merely an expression to convey the fact that females, sexualized ones in particular, have much larger butts/proportions than what one would find in real life. whereas males, sexualized or not, tend to be more modest or neglected in that area, regardless of athletism.
i just wonder why that is, is all.
But you can find Twintelle's butt/proportions in real life...
