WipEout Omega Collection releasing on June 6

Cmerrill

You don't need to be empathetic towards me.
Anybody else notice the countdown clock after you preorder it and click on it on ps4 home screen says "Wepeout"?

I would like it to review well to bring in some new players and maybe increase the chances of a totally new entry.

For this game personally I just needed to see the announcement.

Damn just seen the retro sleeve - hope my Amazon UK steel book order comes with that...

Got a few days off to remind myself how evil Zico is...

Do we really need reviews ? This is WipEout on PS4. 60fps of pure awesomeness, that's pretty much all I need to know. ;)

nothing is ever perfect, mariokart 8's duplicate frame, preys patching itself into fuckery, switch screen scratching., hell even Halo 3's disc bouncing around in the box.

Theres ALWAYS a flaw that no one realises until it's in their hands.

I had a go on wipeout hd at the weekend in anticipation of the omega collection. Last time i played it was probably a good couple of years ago (i barely touch my ps3 now) so i was gobsmacked when i saw just how well it has aged. Playing on my new 4k tv i was expecting it to be a bit rough round the edges but it looked astonishingly good. And to think this is on a graphics card with a fraction of the power of the ps4/pro. One of the few 1080/60games on the ps3 and it looks every bit as good as some of the 720/30 efforts from other racers. What kind of witchcraft did the devs use to get this to run so well (dynamic res aside...)?!

Interrestingly i also played it in 3d for the first time which was a laugh. Although the res noticeably dropped the experience was really good.

Low poly (compared to now), stylised graphics and skilful programming. Some art styles age better than others.

Pumped for this.

Wipeout HD / Fury was one hell of a game, and the perfect package to own digitally to jump in here and there for a manic dose of the GOAT mode ZONE.

I know, that was me joking around but from what I've seen and heard, the game is pretty great, so I'm confident it should be awesome.

My had shipped from Game but theres no mention of steelbook now and it's not even listed on the site too.
They better not be charging me £29.99 for the standard edition when I preordered the steelbook.

Same here. A bit worried so I sent a support ticket to GAME to double-check. Gonna ask for a refund from them if so; if I don't get the pre-order bonuses might as well grab the game from the PSN store.

My Amazon preorder is out for delivery now. Looks like I'll be getting a game delivered early for the first time ever.

From Amazon?... Wow. Generally unexpected. They usually get games out exactly on time in certain areas, late in others. Early is pretty rare for games from them. Consoles, depends.

Edit: My Best Buy orders for this and ESO: Morrowind have been nearby since Saturday, but the shipping center here is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Out for delivery, should be at my place by around 7PM if not around 1PM EST.

Oh man...saw this thread popped up and I just remembered to start my pre-download!

SO HYPED!
Did PSN let you download the Van Über team? I keep getting a download error for Van Über team and the avatars but the theme, game and art book are downloading fine.

Has anyone from Sony ever explained why they haven't gone back and remastered any of the tracks from the first 3 games? I'm looking forward to this but I'd kill to play Gare d' Europa or Spilskinanke on modern hardware even if they were just wireframe versions.

I would throw money at the screen of a pure remake of Wipeout 1-3

Probably because they're thoroughly in remake territory compared to remastering HD/FURY/2048.

Yeah I've probably pre-ordered hundreds of games from Amazon and never had one come early. Usually even if it gets to my area early, UPS will hold it until release day. That could be the difference here: This is being delivered by USPS and I feel most of my other release day deliveries are UPS.

Would obviously require more resources and probably appeal to less people. I WOULD love if Mean Beans/Epos/XDEV/whatever did that as DLC though. Can leave out licencing the old tracks, just let us use Spotify AND USB media player support.

Speaking of which, can anyone who has an early copy confirm whether you can use the media player while running the game?

Oh, definitely. When ship by USPS, you never know what's going to happen. LOL. USPS is fairly unpredictable.

Looks like shopto has given up on sending games early and now send them out a day before games release, was looking forward to this a day early.
