Do you call the "X" button on Dualshocks the "Cross Button" or "Ecks Buttons"?

Show me the receipts on it being officially called "cross"

It's ex, the only people I've seen use cross are people in the UK and a few stubborn
wrong
people on here.

As the letter.

A cross stands on one leg. That's an X in the OP.

I guess not necessarily in Japan lol

In keeping with the DualShock's secret nautical theme, the face buttons are of course called the keel, the lateen, the cannonball, and the buried treasure.

Meet the crossproduct ×: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross_product
It's interestingly not called the X-product by anyone I know. It is a bit silly that many games that want to use the cross product in their name actually use the X, which looks similar (it also is a cross afterall), but has a different pronounciation than "cross".

Regarding the button: It is completely obvious that the button is a cross button, considering all the buttons are geometric shapes. I like to use correct words instead of goofing around, so of course I call it the cross button.

Also, the image in the OP is not representative of the cross button and falsely leads to people calling it X, where in actuality, the controller itself has a perfectly fine crossproduct symbol:

It's an ex for me however for those saying that it's not a cross, lots of national flags use a diagonal cross including my own the St Andrews Cross.

I also believe there is some BDSM equipment that uses the same name......

Before I found out their official names, I called the buttons as follows

Cross - 'Ecks'
Square - Box
Circle - 'Oh'

I once made a photoshop meme that had the Cross and Square button next to '360' with the 0 replaced by Circle. Good times.

When officially commenting on contextual control schemes, I use their official names. When chilling with my friends, ye olde vernac comes out to play.

I think this thread would be more divisive if we are discussing "O" vs Circle. I hope I am not a monster for calling it circle lol.

90% of the time I say Ecks. Usually if it's in the context of a Japanese game I'll say Cross. I know it's weird but I also call certain carbonated soft drinks Pop and others Soda.

X button for me. The Xbox has one as well, the SNES had one, and in my mind a cross is the religious symbol, rather than.. well, X.

Though they are all in a different position. SNES is left, PSX is down and XBox is up... so basically nobody's right.
:p
BTW since I'm Italian and the word for Cross would be longer and inappropriate I'll obviously go with Eeks (going by our pronounce of that letter).
