Wish they'd make a regular size version. I have the OG 3DS and I prefer that size but this looks so good.

According to Sam from treehouse there is a standard Hard mode unlocked after beating the game, then Fusion mode is a third difficulty mode you unlock with the stupid amiibo.

Here come the scalpers!

Oh shit! I sort of wish I hadn't sold my 3DS now... That themed console is tempting but not enough so for just one game I'm interested in.

Pretty cool, but I'm done with buying LE 3DS's. I already have the Ocarina of Time, Link Between Worlds and Majora's Mask ones. Enough is enough!

Almost hope this won't come to EU so I don't feel obligated to buy it. It looks fantastic but man I really don't need to be spending that money...

I can't wait for this.

Though, one thing I've been wondering: can you still move while aiming upwards or downwards in this game? It seems like you have to root your feet to the floor to do the free-aiming, but I wonder if you can still aim at 45 degree angles with the D-pad alone (or the C-stick in this game, I guess?).

$200 gone like that lol
I'm picking up that system to hoard because aside from that gamecube box there's never been a metroid system
I like the design too

The game previews are pretty good. Looks like the game is on a good trajectory.

I still have an OG 3DS, so if I see the Metroid special edition I might get it. Hmmm

Sigh, I want that 3DS. But I bought a New 3DS XL not that long ago, and don't really want to spend money on it again.

Any confirmation on what the target FPS is on the current and n3DS (if there is a difference)? I recall that still not being confirmed from the couple E3 demos folk got.

As an owner of an OG 3DS XL, does this game have any features exclusive to the New 3DS models (apart from Amiibo support, I mean)?

I'm thinking along the lines of Yoshi's Woolly World having 60fps support on the newer versions of the console. Is there anything like that here?

Well, you can buy SNES VC games off the eShop. Smash also loads quicker, lol.

The console will be available in Japan as well.
Seems like we won't have to wait long before a Europe announcement imo

Just as I suspect. According to Gamexplain, Hard mode don't need amiibo.

Last week Metroid thread was such a shit show, jumping to conclusions and extreme reactions.

Some times it's warranted, but very often it's not.

Can't recommend 3DS special editions. I barely took the Monster Hunter 4 one anywhere, yet the layers started to come off like half a year in.

I meant in terms of this particular game, Samus Returns. Does it have any benefits on the New 3DS?

On the Nintendo Voice Chat podcast last week, they mentioned in passing that Samus Returns takes a "slight performance hit" when playing in 3D, but didn't get into any specifics and/or whether they were playing on a new 3DS XL, or just an ordinary 3DS. I haven't read any of these new previews yet, so I don't know if that assertion has been backed up elsewhere or not.

Alright, I'm officially in hype mode for this game. That's a lovely 3DS, too. Would look great next to my Triforce Edition.
