This has happened to me a couple times, usually when I am outside in the cold.Had something like that happen to me last week. Got a warning it was at 15% then a few seconds later it shut off.

Glad this thread was bumped as I've been experiencing this too... Currently running 7.1.2
My phone will hit 15% which is when it's supposed to enter super low battery mode but instead, it flat out shuts off. Looking at the posts here it seems this is a known issue and Google / Huawei are issuing replacement batteries or whatever for it? I'm asking since I purchased my phone way back when it first launched and I'm OOW.

Just got Google to give me an exception for my 6P out of warranty because of the battery shut down prior to reaching 0% battery.
Kind of crappy in one aspect, since my GF had a Nexus 6, and the phone wouldn't boot at all, and she took great care of it, and Google told her to pound sand because the phone was less than a month out of warranty.
Just got an exception for my 6P as well about the battery issue, they're sending a refurbished one, was kind of hoping for a refund but I guess this one has a pretty good chance of having the same issue eventually at which point I can't imagine not getting a refund.
How much is Google offering for refund?
Is Google going to ask for my phone's serial number? If the phone came with one of those stickers with the number on it, I probably lost it. Am I fucked? Or do they have other ways of knowing I actually posses it.

Just called and they said that they'll send me a refurbished phone as a replacement. If I ask for a refund do you think they'll grant it?
EDIT: They told me a refund or a new replacement isn't an option. Thats...really disappointing?

In order to get the refurb they're making me buy it essentially and then they refund me that charge when they get the old one back. I don't really trust that? Not to mention I don't have $800 in my bank to just put on a refurbished phone for 2 weeks.
I had to do the same through the Google Store, but I didn't actually get charged anything since I returned the phone within 2 weeks or however long they said. When you checkout with the refurb phone your total should say $0.00.
The link they sent is making me pay the actual amount and since I don't have $800 right now I can't order it. I emailed back inquiring and they said I'd have the charge refunded when they get my broken unit back.
Wow I didn't know the phone shutting down at 15% was a widespread thing. I thought it was just specific to me.
Has anyone managed to get a replacement/refund from the UK?
I got another refurb sent to me. I guess this is what's going to keep on happening. Phone goes though boot loop, I chat with customer service. I get a new phone. Phone goes to boot loop, I chat with customer service. I get a new phone...

I bought mine off of eBay unfortunately. Contacted Huawei when the battery went terrible and despite the phone being in warranty, they still wanted the proof of purchase (which the eBay seller no longer had). Replaced the battery myself which just introduced its own problems.
Gave up and bought a Oneplus 3t as I needed a working phone to go on holiday with. It's annoying because the 6P, other than the battery, was a better phone.
I'm never buying a Huawei phone again, and certainly not buying a phone without warranty and proof of purchase.

Quick question, I have a brand new 6P Lying around somewhere which I'm concidering to use as my main Phone. It's about 1 year old. Should I expect bootloop/ shutdown problems? How reliable is the 6P?
This is what my Nexus 6P just did while playing a game (it shut off).

Hey at least you got 6 hours out of it, look at mine:
I said screw waiting for the Pixel 2, and got myself a budget phone. The Moto E4 Plus. (5,000 mAh). Battery life is amazing, I tested it by not charging it overnight, made it through two days. That camera and build quality though
