Everyone knows how GG's been made now. This is blue hair, it's really not the same amount of work as another character. It's more work than a regular costume in a different game and it's not like we're expecting a costume for every character but this really shouldn't take up another slot to colour some hair blue. These guys don't use different moves in the show in SSB and what does change can be incorporated as different attack cutscenes. You know, never mind. I love the idea of Kid Goku, SSJ Goku, and SSB Goku all being on the same team like a bad MUGEN game.

You realize what you're basically saying right? They take up more work than usual but not as much as other fighting games. But this still saves them time and pads out the roster a bit. This isn't taking anyone's fucking slot lmao. They could also change the mechanics of them a bit too. They are also wearing different costumes so it still takes up much more effort than just coloring some hair. At that point they might as well give them different moveset even if it's not widely different (but see other fighting game clones where tweaking a few things can drastically change the playstyle for a character)

I really hope they're going for a rather large roster now that SSB Goku & Vegeta are added. I thought it would be really unnecessary for them to be in the game, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

Expect most of the same normal moves with some different supers tbh

At worst they'll have the same moves and I'm expecting that, but you never know they could give them some difference.
At least give him the 1 inch punch

Would be a nice counter move.

Give 16 the Sentinel assist, pls. I already have Doom Rocks on crack with Freeza, and Gohan is tiny and fast. Team Clackwerk.

Lmao. How could you not love Super, and how goofy it is?

I actually really like the slice of life stuff reminiscent of early buu saga. I will never ever get sick of how Dragonball domesticates its villain characters like Piccolo and Vegeta through family/fatherhood. It is infinitely endearing to me.

It's Super trying to do action stuff I just find to me dull and tedious. Every new arc I try to get into it and I just can't. Super is completely devoid of the suspense and tension that was present in the original series. It's too goofy for its own good if that makes sense.

I don't find any of the new villains or antagonists memorable at all. I don't really mind SSB being in, but if we had a roster full of people like Hit, Zamasu, Goku Black and whoever the fuck else from the current arc I would not be interested at all. I think Movie characters like Janemba or filler like Pikkon would be more recognizable additions than any villains from Super. Even characters from GT

I've never made an argument about limited slots. I said it looks stupid to have SSB Goku and SSJ Goku on the same team or have them be separate characters in the game by design, reminiscent of shitty MUGEN games and Bone Claw Wolverine. If they do something like only allowing you to use either Goku or SSB Goku at once (not both) I have 0 issues with this.

Well
we're episodes into the tournament and Gohan hasn't gotten any new transformation, I'm pretty sure he wants to perfect his ultimate form considering he's the only 1 who has it. If anything Goku has been teased with a new form from the promotional art and intro.

Still the only character to have been shown explicitly aiming at getting a new form. You're making a lot of assumptions here and leaps of logic based on your personal preferences. There is in-show evidence of Gohan saying he has a goal of a "form no one has ever seen before". Goku getting a new form is 100% fan speculation based on the intro and a picture with no explicit mentioning of it in the show. Anyways, that's besides the topic. All I suggested with regards to the game was to delay adult Gohan until he got his form.

And yes, all those games are MUGEN trash.

Why are we not getting the RoF outfits? This shit is gonna bother me the whole way until release.

Boss Doggie

all my loli wolf companions are so moe
Man I was hoping they'd avoid Super representation for now, but eh... I guess this still counts as Z because technically they appeared in BoG and RoF.

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
I figured 16 would make the cut in a more limited roster, his build is too unique to skip on. Cool to see.

Considering that this game is a 3vs3 fighter, not having Android 17 as a separate character with Android 16 and 18 is a big missed opportunity.

He still may be in at some point, but until then--it's a big missed opportunity.

That aside, I'm glad to see Android 16. He was one character I was banking on being in.

Doesn't really considering we see Goku going SSB Kaioken, which is exclusively in Super. That and them not using the RoF outfit makes me think they're basing these forms out of Super than RoF

Only Super characters we get, that aren't forms, are likely to be Hit and Black so it's still cool. There will be DLC and sequels for a reason. Those 2 are legit.

To be honest, Future Trunks and Best Bae 18 are all I really wanted. I guess I'll fill that last slot with Piccolo or something

Poor 17, glad 16 and 18 made it in

This is a 3v3 game, just how limited is the roster going to be?

I see what you mean. I also see where DBZ fans get hung up about DBS not being as "good" as DBZ. The way I see it is that DBS is a combination of the original DragonBall and DragonBall Z. What I don't understand is the hate that DBS gets. It's more cannon Goku and friends! The pacing is so much better than Z (no more 10 episode transformations or waiting 6 episodes for Goku's Genki Dama to finally get charged). Stuff like that for me goes a long way. The latest arc in DBS has been the best in the series yet but I'm sure all the DBS naysayers have already written the series off.

I haven't seen db super at all but the random screenshots I've seen show a good pool of diverse characters and moveset. Don't care for blue goku but beerus and hit would be great additions on moveset potential alone.

Technically Super Saiyan Kaioken was introduced in DBZ filler in the Otherworld Tournament Saga.

Oh my goodness Mr Fantastic is envious of the reaching in this thread.

Seriously why does the very idea of Super being in this game offend people so much? Are fans like myself not allowed to enjoy the game too?

Nooooooooooooooo... this is the first announcement related to this game that has disappointed me :(

They absolutely could've had 17 in with a different moveset than 18.

Also, I knew the blue versions of Goku and Vegeta would make the roster at some point, but hoped they wouldn't take up spots in the initial release. I would've preferred them being released as DLC or as part of the first revision this game gets. Damn...

They dont take up spots. If the blue versions werent added there would be less characters in the overall roster.

Yeah usually devs go into developing fighting games with the roster of characters already pretty solidly decided. They require too much planning to be decided on whimsically.

There's no real "taking up space" or even "there would be less characters if they weren't in". These are the characters they decided on when they started making the game.

It is what it is. I'm actually open to this game changing my mind about Super as they add more stuff from it, as even before I'm a DBZ fan I'm a fan of fighting games and this one looks incredibly up my alley.

I guess we can't really confirm that until we see their movesets, can we? If they're completely different from the base versions, including different normals, I'm still going to feel like they're taking up spots. Though you're right, the models for Goku and Vegeta were already there, so they saved a ton of time with that.

I think they'll share a lot, which is why as some people pointed out, they still have the "classic" costumes over the newer ones they have in Super where they use a lot of the original techniques in these forms.

But at the very least they'll have completely new supers. We already see Goku using Kaioken mode I guess, probably as a level 3. And we also know he can't use his base level 3 as that once has him transforming into SSJ3.

The classic costumes are the ones they currently use in Super.

Classic outfits SSB are a Super thing only, as well as SSB Kaioken, so it doesn't matter if you don't like Super, the Super stuff is already there.

RoF outfits! God fucking dammit why aren't they in there!?

Regarding the Blues, I just hope they're not as similar to their already existing versions as... say, Order-Sol is to Sol.

Right now that's the best example I can think of. If Order-Sol was announced as part of Xrd Sign's launch roster, I'm sure tons of people would be groaning. I'm hoping that ends up not being a fair comparison!

I guess there's some people who only watched the movies and refuse to acknowledge anything after that even though the series has moved on.

I hate the RoF outfits anyway so I'm glad. Plus they will probably do them with a re-color in the finished game to keep the Z-boys happy.

I will never understand this mindset. So because you don't like it Super fans just have to go away? Are we not allowed our characters?

Referring to Black as "Goku with a wig on" doesn't help your case either as he could potentially be the most unique Goku variant they could make.

It could be, you're right. I still think it's a stupid character. Super fans are free to disagree and I hope they get their fantasy matchup of Yellow Goku + Blue Goku + Pink Goku vs. SSJ4 Goku + GT Kid Goku + Goku Driving a Tractor

The best thing about SSBKK Goku and Vegeta being in is that people can finally accept Super is here to stay.

You might as well quit following this game now if including Super characters bothers you that much.
