Lol. Capcom shows a story trailer and releases a list of the modes. Dragon ball Fighter Z releases info of 4 new characters a 3v3 party mode that's 6 players plus a story breakdown. No footage but still way more exciting than seeing the.mvci final roster and no new modes.

Stay losing Capcom.
DBFZ literally announced clones of two characters already in the game as two of those four characters, and so what if they announced a story mode now?

I like the game, and the party mode is super dope (and should be in MvC:I) but y'all trying waaaaaaaaaay too hard to cape for a game that barely has gameplay diversity in what we've seen thus far and new announcements doing little to shake that, despite them saying it would.

Everyone's proportions are off. It's comical.

Besides the female characters and the smaller ones (Rocket, X, Arthur, etc), the goal seemed to be huge upper bodies and tiny heads. Even people like Ryu, Hulk, etc, look kind of off, as do the obvious examples like Cap. Heck, I think even Chun Li is suffering from it, though at least they fixed her face.

People that haven't suffered through SFV's story mode have no idea how much better this thing looks on every level.

SFV's story mode was hilarious with fun throwbacks and it gave me 80k FM. Totally worth it.

This is on the other hand is Avengers United They Stand levels of awful.

We have no idea if this is a Marth/Roy/Lucina kind of clone situation yet.

Gameplay diversity may be an issue based on what we've seen so far, but have we gotten a lot of new footage since even Krillin and Piccolo's announcement?

Yeah, I think I'm waiting for this to hit the bargin bin. Gameplay looks fun and all and even the story is neat enough, but I can't deal with this garbage ass roster. This has to be the worst roster I've seen in a fighting probably ever, of all time.

Interesting:

They are not clones. Look at Extreme Butoden for reference.

A slight twist:

Fights may have more variety than other story modes
The Valkanda segment features the same fights against Ultron's minions players of the previous story mode demo might be familiar with, with a slight twist: If I wasn't able to kill them before a certain amount of time, they would fly off into the background, dealing damage to Valkanda and if the city is destroyed, then you have to start over. Though I was able to easily dispatch most of the baddies, I did play with a bit more urgency, making a beeline for enemies who looked they were about to fly away.

This is when I know Mahvel hate has gone out of control. SFV's story mode looked like it was shat out on a shoestring budget. This one actually looks competent on a technical level at least. It will probably be awful narratively, but it looks like they put some effort in it at least.

I'm not usually one of those guys that picks apart a bad texture/model/animation, but that scene with Morrigan and Ghost Rider flying looked goofy as hell.

Speaking of which, as expected they went with Fred Tatasciore to voice Ghost Rider (his most recent voice from Agents of SMASH).

I mean the story mode looks fun... but it's just not enough for me. Will probably wait for a price drop.

That reminds me, while I understand why they kept EMH Cap & Hawkeye, I'm surprised that they kept EMH Iron Man. Not that I'm complaining, though.

Does Ghost Rider have a new VA? He doesn't sound anywhere near as cool as I remember MVC3 GR sounding.
It's Fred Tatasciore, Ghost Rider's new VA from the recent string of Marvel cartoons. He's also the voice of Hulk.

He might? The VA seems to be handled by Marvel's pocket recording company, rather than Capcom's.

People have been complaining about a lack of female characters.

If there are more female characters, that will improve perception of the game.

All right, yeah, fine. I'll assume good faith.

Given that I'm a dirty casual, my personal perception of the game is marred by its lacking roster and my opinion on it is that I will buy once it has a better one.

New article from Gameinformer, and also they mentioned that they saw female Monster Hunter with Rathalos Armor in the story mode so I presume that she's going to be playable character via DLC.
However, the character of the game isn’t quite where it needs to be, and I’m hoping the rest of the story mode will live up the promise of what a crossover like this should be come November.

November?

Having more females isn't gonna do a damn thing, due to the horrible presentation ( Game UI's, graphics, etc) game is just straight out ugly. It's sad because the gameplay itself is damn fine.

I'm honestly pretty excited for the game, I think the gameplay looks good. And I actually think graphically the game looks good for the most part (enviroments and some character models look really damn good)

But man, the faces and facial animation in this game are so bad. People's faces are so stiff that it looks as if they have the biggest dose of botox ever

Yeah agreed, it clearly was not the focus in terms of their budget, oh well but I'd rather have good gameplay.

The quality is all over the place, Jedah and Thanos' faces look very bad and then there's the general animstion which was quite lackluster...

Meh, they didn't have Android 17 so that makes that whole reveal as exciting as watching a Wonderbook E3 presentation.

It's a lot easier to design new characters when they all have the same proportions, same faces and same big beam powers. Stay redundant, Dragon Ball.

I don't doubt the final MVC:I roster could be more exciting, especially when comparing it to the total scope of characters in MVC2 or UMVC3, but I still enjoy playing the vs. games from the 90's and their rosters were certainly worse than this.

Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter featured 0 original characters and MVC1 featured 4 new characters and 2 female characters total, and both of those games are still fun to play today.

If you consider Thanos and Jedah to be "new", then the base 30-character roster of MVC:I features 6 new characters and once the first batch of DLC releases, that will be 11 new characters. Outside of vanilla MVC3, this is the biggest addition of "new" characters from any MVC game.

Whether or not you like their character choices is subjective, but this game will be in 2nd place for most new characters of any game in the series, and may strike 1st with DLC over time.

Jedah is a newcomer to MVC franchise tho.

Not in the base roster. Hope you like DLC!

Here's the roster. :)

:(

Is that for realz? Like just 5 new characters? (Im talkin' about the base roster)
I guess they put all the budget on the Single Player campaign.

I love that they are shoving this story mode down everyone's throats every trailer. Fuck gameplay here's more story mode. Story mode is where the characters all look pretty bad though, they look fine in gameplay.

Roster is fine, if it were bigger they could experiment with wild card choices but they have pretty much all the mandatory characters taking up the majority of the slots. Not having someone like Captain America, Iron Man, Ryu or Spider-Man in the base roster would be more ridiculous.

If the negative reception keeps up to release I should be able to pick this up for $10 - $20 a week after release.

MSHvsSF had a few characters new to the VERSUS series. Plus it's not fair to compare 90s Versus games to today. When the technology and expectations are different.
