SNES Classic Preorder Shitshow Discussion (Please Read Rules in OP)

Damn it! I ordered 2, one for me and the other for my brother as an Xmas gift idea. Just got a cancellation email from Walmart on at least 1 of them.

Just got 2 orders from WM canceled. Still have 2 standing with 1 each. Got 1 on the 22nd and the other the 25th. I wonder if they will figure out that I have 2 since it was two separate pages i ordered from.

An N64 Classic would be an easy skip for me.

Same for me, to be honest. And I wasn't terribly bummed about not getting the NES mini either. When that was revealed last summer, my first thought was 'oh cool, they need to make a SNES mini!' My mind was already flying past the NES one and onto what I really wanted with this line.

I'd at least try to grab a N64 classic, which is more than I did about the NES, but I wouldn't be too upset if I didn't get one. I never had a 64, but the potential library is so limited and I've already got what I needed from the Wii VC.

The SNES though... my heart rate isn't going to normalize until it's in my hands.

Edit:
Watch Nintendo somehow get GoldenEye on it and then the internet burns down on preorder day.

What do you mean who cares? This is a community of gamers who enjoy this as a passion and would like to relive the SNES.

"Who cares"

Yes. Who cares? I blame Nintendo for the scalping situation more than I blame someone taking advantage of it.

If you sell the snes, you get the helmet and gun FOR FREE!

You wanna buy a megaman helmet??? Interested??? Halloween is coming up.

Yeah, same. I didn't care much about NES classic either, but SNES is the GOAT.

Same. I don't think N64 games have aged well in general. SNES games are some of the best of all time.

Honest question, not intending to offend, but why are people with 2 orders justifying their multiple orders as 'I bought one for my brother/cousin/friend/coworker/ misc acquaintance'? This whole process is so screwed now that people feel the need to validate that they aren't scalping an extra unit? I don't see why anyone would be raising an eyebrow at 2 units, or even 3. Hell, with how this situation appears headed it's pretty smart to buy an extra as a backup, whether you keep it or give to someone else. Someone going out and buying 10/20/30 units.....well yeah. I think the intent is fairly obvious there.

I find the controller situation is what most makes a N64 Classic unlikely. That monstrous ergonomic nightmare... and 4 of them per console? They'd have to make so many for such a limited run. Just can't see that happening.

People in here are (rightfully) miffed at not being able to preorder a SNES classic. 2-3 preorder people are probably just wanting to reiterate (myself included) that they're not wanting to scalp...probably because everybody has been on edge since this damn thing was announced.

Yep. Was born in 89 so I should be prime N64 nostalgia age but I've always felt that, with the exception of a few games, the N64 era hadn't aged well at all.

GameCube classic might be good but most of its best games are already on the Wii U in some form or another.

I just think it's shitty that Nintendo has handled these things in a manner where everyone who ordered an extra set feels obligated to declare who or what the extra set is for. Frankly if someone buys an extra unit to sell, so what? I don't think an extra unit purchase is fucking the system over to a large degree, its the people ordering them by the truckloads and throwing them up on ebay before they're even on the market that's the big issue here. And I'm saying that as someone who does NOT have a preorder in.

I'm not throwing shade at these people, I'm saying it's pretty fucked up and I hope Nintendo supplied the market sufficiently
I'm not betting on it, unfortunately

Agreed with that sentiment. But there are lots of people in this thread currently empty handed and understandably frustrated. So to come on here and be like 'I got more than I need,' when others have none might aggravate frustrations. Also, scalpers are a huge problem and there are loads of them just trying to turn an extra buck and take advantage of a situation that's already shitty for lots of people. They're one of the biggest reasons for so many people not getting one, so there's lots of sensitivity there.

There are posters in here who've openly admitted to buying to scalp. So some of us just want to distance ourselves from that sort while we discuss our situations as this Wal-Mart multi-order-cancelation crusade sweeps through.

Gamecube classic:

Sunshine
Wind Waker
Resident Evil 4
Melee
Metroid Prime
Soulcalibur 2
Super Monkey Ball
Luigi's Mansion
F-Zero GX
Tales of Symphonia
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Animal Crossing
Double Dash
Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader
Pikmin

Even half on that on one box would be fantastic. Far superior to a 64 one.

Perhaps that can be alleviated somewhat by saying 'I got an order in' without specifying the number? I don't know...

Replace Rogue Squadron II with Rogue Squadron III. That coop is too damn good.

Gotcha Force should be there. Cool 4P arena fighter and it's expensive as hell otherwise.

Depends if we get sweet non-Nintendo games like Space Station Silicon Valley and Body Harvest. (we wont). I would still buy with just the Nintendo / Rare games though.

I think the N64 Classic would have to return to a single controller inside the box as de NES Classic. And Nintendo could sell aditional controllers for USD 20 a pop.Thay can even sell multiple colors.

I know, I know, that would make the aditional controllers even harder to find than the Classic console itself. But ins´t that the whole purpose of this classic consoles?

When the NES Classic was realeased, I went just for the controller, which I use for playing VC games and Shovel Knight on the Wii U, but I have already pre-ordered a SNES Classic. If this was the scenario for the N64, I would do the same and just get an N64 Classic controller to use for a couple of VC games.

I would still like one, just for the fact that I (very fucking stupidly) let go of my N64 forever ago, and would like to have the physical console again like I do with the NES classic and soon SNES classic (without spending an arm and leg on the games). But with that said, it definitely makes the N64 classic a harder sell if Nintendo can't get the glorious RARE games on it, that make up for half of my "most wanted" N64 games. Assuming modding exists for it, sure you can probably get them on there, but out of the box that is a much harder sell without those games being there. Not to mention, i'm sure the shit show will continue to just get you hands on one of them. Not sure I want to go through the fiasco the SNES preorder was again for the N64, as much as I would like one...its no SNES :).

What about Twilight Princess SD? I think Ubisoft would wanted to get a piece of the action and we could see Prince of Persia, Beyond Good and Evil or Rayman.

On the other side, the GCN Classic would be a prohibited expensive micro console.

I had 3 on order from Walmart, one for me, my son and my friend that's had no luck with preorders. They cancelled two of them, so I guess the one I have will be my son's and I'll play his.

Yep Walmart canceled my other order as well.

Glad I thought to do two separate orders instead of a single order with quantity 2.

Shit I just had one cancelled too good thing I backed up at Best Buy. I only ordered 2 since I’ve been burned by Walmart before. I also did two orders! Are they just flat out cancelling both of you had two in the cart?

Yeah no rare no buy but if it’s also USB C that could be a problem easily remedied...

PAULINK

I microwave steaks.
if it's any consolation, walmart may have some to spare on launch day. this is just my speculation, but last year I lined up at a 24 hour walmart for the nes classic and they sold their in store stock at midnight. but this was before the fever and rush, so it'll be worse this year.

Those who ordered at Walmart with cancellations & paid with PayPal, have you received payment back to your PayPal, yet?

I didn't use paypal, but my Capital One app lets me know immediately when I have a charge or refund and I have not got a refund yet. They may just let the authorization fall off, I'll have to check later.

Because people are misdirecting their anger at the wrong people. It's ridiculous people feel the need to clarify why they bought numerous ones and why anyone is upset at them for it. Be mad at nintendo. It's entirely their fault for putting people in this situation. Being angry at others for taking advantage of it is fucking stupid. That's not how the free market works.
