Limited Run Games |OT2| Sweet XOXO for Digital to Physical Media

So, I finally got my Night Trap and the documentary Blu-ray...in a flimsy pink "garbage bag" envelope. Really, guys?! I'm not one to complain about frivolous things - I swear - but aren't orders with more than one item automatically supposed to get shipped in a box??? No damage, thankfully, but still.

The only times I've had a box is either with a held release of quite a few games or getting a CE, if it's just say a PS4 game and a Vita game then it comes in the pink packaging unless you order a box along with it.

Man, the Shadow Warrior quantity sucks. I now recall that I skipped the regular release of this in favor of the LRG version.

That was before the print run was announced, or I would have grabbed it.

Probably lost in the shuffle with the latest two announcements, but LRG's variant for Shadow Warrior 2 (PS4) will be launching in a single batch this coming Monday on September 11th at 12:00PM EST. As a reminder, this release isn't officially part of their main catalog so it can be skipped without issue for those striving toward a complete collection. It'll be available through 1,000 copies with each cover being individually numbered much like the original Special Reserve Games run.

EDIT: Countdown clock has been added for the Shadow Warrior 2 variant in the OP. An alternative option for Caladrius Blaze (PS4) with English subtitles has been placed through the post as well for those that want to buy a copy right away without regard to region specificity.

No, it's just for the PS4. I should clarify that by items I mean games, so your scenario doesn't fit the criteria. You can see the criteria yourself right here.

I guess so. But this is the first time they've offered a Blu-ray (as far as I know), and Blu-ray cases are close to the same size as PS4 cases (maybe a little thinner and shorter - I'm not sure). This kind of falls outside the usual norms of what they ship, but I don't think it was an unreasonable for me to expect a shipping box. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, obviously. With that said, I hope they improve their "garbage bag" envelopes at least, because those flat-out suck. (I'm aware you can add a box for a small fee, but I'm not convinced a big box will secure one PS4 game any better than a flimsy envelope would, so I'd rather they work on improving what they pack smaller shipments into.)

Instead of a box, I got two separate shipments of the Bunker and Night Trap in a bubble wrap envelope, both of which shipped and arrived the same day. *shrug*
That's bizarre. Wonder why that happened. The whole Night Trap shipping schedule has been very erratic compared to most releases, so maybe that's why.

And Senko no ronde 2 and Game Paradise Cruisin' Mix. These are seemingly also confirmed for English too unlike M2's stuff which might need localization work.

And that EDF STG announced just today needs to happen too. The developers aren't well known and no footage was shown but it's EDF mixed with shmup? It can't go wrong.

And #3 I really liked Jamestown+ too. It has a few flaws and is not a revolution but it's a cut above the normal indie shmups. I had a good time with it.

Just sayin'.

In for all of these!!!

Hope Caladrius does well but yeah, it's been cheap-ish on Play-Asia for quite a while. Already have it on PS3 and PS4. Do we know that the LRG edition will be the same as the Asian one, but with slightly different packaging?

I skipped out too, regretting that massively now.

How much was the SRG version? $39.99 seems like a lot without all the extra goodies from the original release.

I just assumed it was because of the mess that was Night Trap. Honestly, I don't know priorly what was the last time I bought both games on a Friday. This summer was barren for me.

Yeah, I'm not sure what happened with Night Trap. Usually, most people get their items shipped and delivered within a 2-3 days of each other (not counting international orders). With Night Trap, we have folks who got their orders shipped and delivered a week ago or two weeks ago, whereas I just got mine tonight. It's all over the map.

Keen as for Caldarius, I've been meaning to import it since it's release but never bothered. Will check reviews on the other game but the box art looks great.

I am really anxious about Shadow Warrior 2 though. I really want it but don't think I'll be lucky enough and it's at 2am for me... hopefully people will be wanting the bundle so I can grab the standard game. Even if the art is shit lol

Amazon listing for Night Trap CE isn't up yet, so I can't scan it to Delicious Library yet. But, I got curious and checked eBay, and I guess it is selling for about 120 dollars? Which, got me thinking: what's the most expensive/rarest Limited Run game, and what's it run for?

Might be Breach & Clear for vita? Recently sold auctions on eBay have it going in the $200-220 range.

Hey all.

I've recently 'released' my jumbo hold order I put together over the relentless summer period. Can anyone tell me which of these games are yet to go out at all? I know that Lawbreakers was one title that had production delays, but I'm just trying to figure on what else I might have to wait for before the crate of games is shipped.

Waiting on:

Bard's Gold (Vita and PS4)
Rive (PS4)
Jotun (PS4)
Neurovoider (PS4)
Drive! Drive! Drive! (PS4)
Oceanhorn (Vita and PS4)
Wonderboy (PS4)
Lawbreakers (PS4)
The Bunker (PS4)
Night Trap (PS4)
N++ (PS4)
Lili LE (PS4)

Thanks!

Not sure I'll bother with the hold shipment service again... It's been over two months and they haven't dealt with the mess yet. I wouldn't recommend it if they can't even ship the games when you ask, don't reply to the tickets, etc.

Sorry you're having such a shit time with it Shiz. I'm surprised they haven't replied to the tickets yet though. They were slow with mine until I poked them about it on Twitter.

As I've shared in another thread:

I don't want to share my entire point of view before this issue is settled, but I'll tell y'all this: I'd advice against using Limited Run Games hold shipment service ever again.

If you have the funds to pay the full shipping, buy the game. If you don't, reconsider your purchasing habits and reflect if you really need that game you're thinking of buying.

I got Night Trap today and it arrived with the seal broken and part of the top of the case shattered off. first thing ive bought since last year too iirc.

Play Asia has always been orders of magnitude faster than LRG for me.

I had a mistake on an order this week and didn't notice until I'd already received a tracking number and it had shipped. I e-mailed PA and they were able to recall or otherwise track the parcel down and stop it before it left. I already have a credit back a day later.

LRG wouldn't have even responded to my ticket until it was already in my hands.

Also, LRG customer service outright lies. I inquired about missing cards from my order. Said she would mail me out what was missing and said she did. That was 2-3 weeks ago.

One of the issues was an outstanding bill LRG owed to the UPS, which they comically tried to blame the shipping company for.

How is it comic? Having dealt with UPS for years, I will tell you that their billing and commercial shipping groups don't communicate. I have literally had a package sit for a week because they erroneously claimed my account was delinquent when in fact I had a $1500+ credit. It wasn't until I called them that everything was resolved. There was never any notice of the alleged delinquency nor any indication that they were holding the package until the amount was paid.

We've never had this experience, not to say that it hasn't happened to others, but his post didn't imply that the bill was a false one, so I never assumed that it may have been. The comment on UPS losing out on potential future money because of money owed in the present is the bit that got me. The UPS are trying to run a business, just the same as LRG, they shouldn't be expected to continue going into the red to serve a customer on good faith that they may make things right in the future. LRG themselves wouldn't do this. Our business wouldn't do that. If you start missing electricity or car payments, the companies you owe won't either. Nor would you have any right to place the blame on the people you owe, if the bill were legit.

Finally got my Wonder Boy, standard edition

I do wish LRG used thicker bubble envelopes or a bit more protection for overseas orders... by the time Wonder Boy and my Jotun arrived the cases were slightly crushed and you know on the back cover where if it's been pressed it has some damage from the disc holder? Also the spines are a bit crushed. Nothing I can't handle really but some of these games cost me $70 AUD, I buy games from the UK all the time and they arrive in pristine condition for a lot cheaper...

I see a bidding for Ys Origins Variant Cover edition on eBay. Right now it's at 35 dollars.

I'm severely tempted.

EDIT: And it's over. Someone bought it.

I highly recommend tacking on a box... PS4 games damage easily.

I'm not sure what business you're in, but many of the companies and small businesses I have worked for or owned over the years operated on net 30 or net 60 or similar structures where they would in fact continue to perform work or provide product even if an invoice went unpaid for a length of time. There are various reasons for this, but shipping companies generally don't stop accepting new business from a company just because there is an invoice outstanding, especially if they have the potential to generate thousands of dollars in revenue from the new shipments and the outstanding amount is small. In this case, based on my experience, UPS overreacted and didn't communicate well even if the invoice was legitimate.

I've consistently bought PS4 games from LRG in bubble mailers without issue and my copy of Wonder Boy arrived crushed as well. There was a grim sense of irony as I'd just returned from sending some rare PS2 games to the US and I'd packed them well, to find a package containing a shattered box and a torn sleeve on my doormat. CS have said that I can send it back for a replacement but that's also an extra £8-£10 in return shipping costs for me.

I'm so confused about whether I should get my hold order shipped or not. All these horror stories are making me choosing to do it in the first place lol.

I think of it as insurance. Sure, 4/5 times it arrives just fine, but if that fifth time is Ys or Wonderboy, I'll be glad I coughed up a bit extra. It's not ideal (I think boxes should be the norm for any quantity of PS4 game), but it's better than having to ship something back on your own dime.
