Should I count the Arcade Archives Nintendo games as new Switch titles, or do people view that more as an extension of Virtual Console?
They're handled by Hamster and not Nintendo so I'd say new titles, or all bunched as one item.

"3D" as in 3D gameplay.3D Dot Game Heroes is fantastic.
It's surprisingly bad for being so late. Not sure if the demo build is super old and the final one is at a decent resolution, but we haven't heard either way.Pokken would probably do a bit better, if the port wasn't garbage. At least ww.

I would've bought it if it didn't look so terrible on both handheld and docked modes
I believe it got a 20% increase in pixel count on docked mode and its resolution is less than the Wii u version in handheld mode without new effects or anything.and it's especially bad since it's being compared to Mario Kart and a lesser extent Zelda. So you're like, the eff happened with this one??
Capcom is a shell of its former self. They bet on the Switch being unsuccessful and development resources as tight as they are were allocated accordingly. Switch suddenly proving to be a hot commodity does not mean much in the short term for a company that does not have the ability to shift with any ease.
Its possible more ports may start showing up for projects that were greenlighted after switch proved itself but I do not expect any sort of real Capcom support until 2019 the earliest.
You're missing Dragon Quest Builders for Switch, unless it's excluded by the rules.
Is 15 supposed to be a repeat of DQXI 3DS? Is one of those supposed to be the PS4 version? Or is it just another 3DS SKU of the game?
[3DS] Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age - 50
[PS4] Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age - 7
what happened here?
Okami HD

Release in Japan
this will never stop being mind blowing.
switch owners, all those that stood in lines, have won lotteries, who have been buying software as it comes, will not have the option to play this game.
but all the dozens of X1 owners will!
HA! take that Nintendo,

Wii port of the original sold rather poorly anyway, despite the Zelda fanbase and all, people really overblow how many sales Capcom is "losing" regarding it.
The game will probably not be a big seller so it's likely not worth arguing too much about missed sales. Likely would've been the best selling version if released at the right time, but that's mostly discussing "what ifs" that aren't happening.Japan is not the only territory where the game is being released, you must know that.
Could be individual store's case and not a full representation? 3DS SKU has been going down just as steadily as the PS4 version, idk what would cause it to rise.
3DS version is at ~1.7 mil on MC; had dropped to like 15k this thread though. Is DQXI selling well?

Re: Road to TGS- So trying to get more specific on what seems to be the dominant focus, if you make your best guess at third party retail releases, you come out with this comparison:
PS4- 24
Switch- 15
Even that doesn't tell the entire story- some really late Switch ports and 5-6 PS4 visual novels so its not like these are all impactful releases.
I
We're through 7 of the 8 weeks of Japanese game announcement season* in a year where both the PS4 and Switch are firing on all cylinders. So far we've got three games that should sell 200K+, and then six maybes, many of we should be pretty skeptical of. If we just focus in on the PS4 and Switch, we can lower those numbers to 2 very likely candidates and 4 maybes.
* TGS itself doesn't tend to have a lot of announcements, especially for non-mobile games.
Right- barring some big stuff at Sony's PC in a few days, pretty lackluster announcements.
EDIT- as far as looking at the overall space, I'd argue you have one platform in its prime, so to speak (PS4), one emerging (Switch) and 2 on their way out (Vita, 3DS). So in that context, this year isn't that surprising.
I think my biggest concern is that the PS4 and Switch have to replace the impact of the 3DS + Vita + PS3, which I'm becoming increasingly skeptical of.

This is honestly very respectable. Everyone thought it would be a huge bomba but it's holding pretty good. Maybe it will stick around for the holiday season?
Ace Attorney World for Smartphone/PS4/X1/PC,coming soon in 2018,the game is skipping switch because the AA audience "isn't there"I think Persona Q2 will have like half the LTD of the first one.
Ace Attorney going mobile only is plausible, but given how the series plays why not put that on everything.
I wonder how Professor Layton and Ace Attorney will transition going forward.I think Persona Q2 will have like half the LTD of the first one.

After Street Fighter 4 was a massive success across all the various platforms and releases etc. you had Ono literally crying to the gaming press and anyone who would listen about how Capcom was not willing to spend the funds on a SFV etc. which is where eventually Sony came in and got exclusivity by shouldering a bunch of costs.
Capcom seems to be run incredibly incompetently. They basically pissed away their MH money into Mobile development studios etc. that have yet to show they were worth the MH money
It does look rather dour if you look at it that way. All of their top IPs are likely on the decline.Honestly, I just don't think they have resources, whether from bad bets, bad management, or bad ventures. They had to scale back RE7, MHW is taking four to five years to produce (and now might even be delayed out of this FY), their release schedule is heavily port dependent, and they seem unable to even do late-day ports of "no brainer"s like MMCollection. We puzzle about this daily, but really if the company is already stretched thin and their resources thinner, its not a mystery.
RE7 is a real big fall, especially, where they transitioned *away* from what had made the series extremely popular (7.2, and 6.8 mil respectively from RE5 and RE6), and went for a much more reduced project with a hard-lean on viral marketing ala PT. RE7 is currently at 3.7 mil and not exactly shooting upwards. We talk about MH a lot but really, the decline of RE is already tangible and it has to hurt. It hurts both in sales and in brand strength.
SFV is a right mess from top to bottom, from start to finish. (And its poison for the competitive scene.) The fact that they couldn't themselves get this made, and even with external funding punted out a half-finished tire fire, tells me that whatever resources they have, are stretched to a damn near breaking point.
Their major losses in mobile and constant failures therein and in trying to court a young market has also definitely hurt their resources, mobile especially so. Their smaller franchises are all shriveling up as well.
Honestly, we'd probably be better of for the foreseeable future in isolating Capcom and Level-5 (until they get some projects going out the door) from discussions of the larger market as a whole. Of course, they might be symptomatic of the problems therein.
