Speaking of bad kid actors... Oof! That show had a lot of potential and the mystery and story was pretty interesting.

My first reaction is, "oh no, it's more kids focused!"

But on second thought, I actually think that's way better for this franchise.

Gotta give it to EW for taking such a hideous cast photo that a movie that's been filming for 3 days is suddenly less desirable. I mean, bravo.

To a point I'd agree that "I meant to do that" works as a valid excuse, but the execution goes far past that, to where it becomes kinda obvious to me that Cameron just didn't direct Furlong very well, which he really needed to do considering the character he wrote was BART SIMPSON. The performance is grating. The personality is grating. And not in the "I meant to do that" sort of way. John Connor is probably the weakest thing about T2, and he didn't have to be.

Interesting. I've never thought that about John, but had heard some other comments around those lines in years since I saw it last. My recent watch of the 3D version, I thought he was fine. Agree to disagree.

Makes sense that it'll be the root of the disconnect as to how worried people are about kids in the new films.

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
Paid in exposure

Meh. All but one are going to be motion capture. It's not going to do much. They'll be able to snag another gig where they get actual face time, maybe.

That's why they're putting them front and center in the first photo. People will know them first and foremost, their CG other selves a few years down the road.

Yeah.

I don't think the kids will be bad. I just don't necessarily trust Cameron's ability to integrate them into his story in anything but the most blunt, "Fellow kids!" way possible.

I don't think the fact there's a bunch of kids in it is automatically negative, though. Especially since these kids are mostly cat people from another planet

I'm out. Was hoping for a darker sequel not the opposite.

You can have a film be 'dark' with kids. There's the potential to make it even darker with them there, actually. Not that I think he necessarily will, I just don't see this being an indication one way or the other.

It follows that Jake and Ney'tiri would a have kids, and those kids would have friends. What happens to them is entirely open.

I really don't get the "I'm out" comments. We haven't seen the script.. just one image of kids standing. No official images of the film, no trailers.. no teasers

"One image has been released, projects doomed. Run for the hill" - Typical fanboy reaction, basically.

The boys attempting to look brooding and bad-ass whilst the girls are just grinning exuberantly is kind of great.

^Goddamnit it...

You'd think that in a post-IT/Stranger Things world, people wouldn't have such intense knee-jerk reactions to the mere presence of children in a film.

It's also post Star Wars prequels world - knee jerk reaction is well warranted. And let's not forget that X-men Wolverine trash movie.
