I think I was accidentally racist today

Why are you guys so weird!?

You didn't get high.
Wear what you want.
I don't think you're racist.
Stop worrying about everything.

You had an awkward moment with your friend. Just let it go and move on.

You can do it!

One time someone told me they thought a guy in school did heroin the year before and next thing I knew I was in methadone clinic.

This could have been an interesting discussion about trying to break away from nurtured prejudices but instead we have second-hand highs and anti-racist clothing queries.

It's just hilarious though, the fact OP even bothered to make the thread show's he's aware of what he did (which is the biggest hurdle in any of these problems) so there's not too much to talk about there. So we're left the the ridiculousness of the actual content.

Here you go, OP:

lmfao

you weren't high because you smelled some pot
This hahaha contact highs are a myth op >.>

Otherwise, I mean it's probably good that you're aware enough that you recognized you fucked up and were stereotyping based on nothing other than racial prejudice, even if your excuse is rather lol worthy. Just Don't judge man, if dudes smell like pot it means nothing more than they just smoked some pot. No need to blow it up into anything more.

This does remind me that the other day I fucked up and accidentally changed pronouns in the middle of a convo with a trans person. I literally went white and wanted to crawl into a hole and die of embarrassment. Person wss cool about it and said it happens, but my god I felt like complete shit about it for days afterwords.

LOL @ the "second hand high" leading to a "lapse in judgement."

I'd just apologize and don't make that mistake again. And stop lying.

Slightly related:

A "close" friend (read: coworker I'm pretty cool with at work) was giving me a short ride to a bar, when I decided to tell him about how shitty and irresponsible my little brother is after a recent situation. I mentioned that while he does take care of his son, he's pretty much a bum in every other way and that his son is the only responsibility he takes care of. I mentioned:

He used to be addicted to coke, but has been clean for years (still smokes weed)
He's never held a steady job, but works doing landscaping, etc. for cash
He's selfish with his money, but expects others to pay his way
He hasn't had a "clean" (read: non suspended) license in years
Has almost no ambition to do anything except hang with his friends getting high and drunk
Despite being 29, still sags his pants like he's in middle school.

And my friend responds: "oh, so like a typical black dude?"

Me: FUCK YOU.
Him: "What? I didn't mean it like that, I mean look at you --"
Me: silence, because we had arrived at the destination and I got out.

I've been extremely distant since then, because if I have the discussion I want to have with him about it, I know I'm gonna lose my shit.

Did your second hand high also cause you to delude yourself into thinking this thread would be recieved with anything other than mockery?

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
Yeah, this seems worse than what he said about the group. Who the fuck refers to someone as "indigenous"? This reminds me of Master of None's take on the word "Ethnic" amongst white people.

Isn't it a standard term for native peoples in Canada?

I also noticed the scent of marijuana in the air at the time and that is more than likely where the "drug" aspect came from. The marijuana most likely resulted in a 'second hand high', which I have often found myself susceptible to-- likely resulting in my brief lapse of social judgment.

Bruh you bugging with that "second-hand high" mess. Just do better to asses what you're about to say before you say it next time.

Post gave me a hardy laugh though
