I'm gonna be sick. I suffer from a rare disorder in which I feel overtly sick and weak when I look at any piece of hardware that can be seen as "boring." It's sad I know, but fortunately the purple beast is there to sooth my aching spirit and give me the 90's 'tude that I require to maintain my health and strength.

My 8/25 order had shipped Thursday, due to arrive today.

Now at 8:25pm it says

No scheduled delivery date available at this time.

If somebody stole this thing, that would be about my luck.

Got 2 in Long Island City, so basically 2 hours away from my home.

Another one just departed from some FedEx facility in Jersey.

I’m expecting by Wednesday to be honest. It’s FedEx.

The SNES classic reminds me how much better gaming was in the 16-bit era. 60hz lightning fast twitch based gameplay that in many cases requires intense concentration and an active 1-1 response rate with what's going on on-screen. The story and graphics are all secondary, it's the insane gameplay that makes this the true golden era of gaming. The controller is just perfect. The games are mindblowing. It's like ive been transported back to the early 90s, when I would only get a few games per year but god damn would they last me.

The collection here is nearly perfect but I can't for the life of me understand why there are 2 Kirby games here, if any. Everyone knows Kirby's 15 minutes of fame was manifested in the NES era's dying days and in the admittedly amazing Gameboy series. Why waste 2 slots for this guy when you leave the fucking SNES port of fucking SimCity on the table?? Not only is thr genre not represented here at all but the SNES version is pure classic and would have been well worth the licensing fee. Or, outside of that there's no reason why ActRaiser isn't on here.

Chrono Trigger gets called out as the de facto omission, but let's be honest... That game actually transcends being representative of games of that era. It came late in the SNES lifespan and, while great, I think by that point many people had already moved onto the next generation of games. CT deserves a full on remake and I don't fits in with the rest of this collection for numerous reasons...

How about sports titles? Who could forget Ken Griffey Jr's Winning Run, or the NBA Jam games? Licensing nightmares aside that's a glaring omission.

I have had hundreds of UPS packages delivered in the last year with no issues. We are talking TVs just chilling on the porch, computer cases and more.

This is just a fedex issue
Is it possible that it's "out for delivery," but the driver entered some info ahead of schedule and that's why it says that it's already been delivered?

This is like saying why are there two Mario games... Mario World and Yoshi's island are very different games. Kirby Super Star and Dream Course are even mow different than that.

Those other titles you mention require added modification or added licenses.

Do you remember anyone giving a shit about Dream Course back in the day? I don't even remember Super Star getting spotlighted in any of the gaming mags.

This is going to get a lot of hate but I think even Secret of Evermore seems more appropriate...

Yes, yes I do.

I do think there is a case to argue Evermore as an inclusion, but it'd almost certainly come at the cost of another RPG. The classic is already very rpg heavy.

My memory of Kirby's Dream Course is renting the game and being disappointed it's a golf game. It was a trap game like Yoshi's Safari and Mario is Missing.

My order from Thinkgeek arrived today. Stoked, already started a new game of Earthbound. Forgot how easy it was to get wrecked in this game - damn you Sharks!

Super Punch-Out!! is as trash as I remember. As a huge fan of the nes original (and the the wii version of course) that they transformed the sequel into a shitty boxing game mainly made for time trials in mind, overboard cheating characters and absolutely HORRIBLE tells for each boxer instead of a puzzle rhythm game is a travesty.
No good main character, no story, no charismatic trainer, no rounds with banter, mediocre music, its just the cherry on top of the shitcake.

On the other hand StarFox 2 on Hard is an absolute blast amd hard as nails, dont even want to try on expert.

I loved super punchout as a kid. I thought the graphics were fantastic. To be fair, I was too young to play the orginal at the time.

I totally disagree with everything in this post. Super Punch Out is my fave in the series by a huge margin.

Star fox 2, a pretty big letdown, especially with how much I enjoy 1 and 64. I can understand now why it was never released. Get rid of the pure rail shooter action of the first game and replace it with this? Is poop to me.

Nah it was amazing 22 years ago. I was fortunate to play it back then and in that era it was ahead of its time.

As a kid I loved the purple and thought the SNES NA was much edgier and cooler. Not as much now. But remember in 1990, the NA version was far more cutting edge of a design.

The EU/JPN look really nice, but I just don't understand the hate towards the NA version. Its not offensive in the slightest. Both look great in my opinion with my preference being NA SNES.

Also I hate the SNES's logo. I get its the 4 face buttons but its got like 2 slanted circles and 2 circles with a little cut out of each. Just doesn't look good.

I think even young me coming hot off playing starfox 1 wouldve been bummed about the switch in gameplay.

More stages with multi-branching paths and secrets. Less open stages and endlessly tracking ships with a HUD.

The concave X and Y make the N.A. version better by default, regardless of aesthetics.

What the fuck. Kirby Super Star was positively huge back then. It was on the cover of all the mags.
Also Dream Course is much better than any of the games you mentioned, especially Secret of Evermore. How can you say it and Super Star are redundant when one is a golf-billiards game and the other a platformer?
And SMFH at saying Chrono Trigger doesn't belong, or even that it released too late in the SNES' lifecycle.

Agreed. The JP SFC controller just doesn't feel right compared to this. Whose idea was it to make X and Y concave?

NoA. Miyamoto was quoted as saying he loved the idea, but was sad he couldn't call the buttons by color because of the two tone purple.

SNES Classic from Walmart now arriving Thursday after showing Tuesday as late as this morning.

FEDEX Smartpost is trash.

My Walmart order status page for my SNES Classic once said "expedited" shipping (tho I never paid a shipping premium), but once it shipped, that designation went away. I got 10% off when I complained about the ridiculously slow shipping speed that followed. Shipped Friday, arriving Thursday.

It's just sitting in Utah for 2 full days right now.

Yeah? I should call and complain then. I've got pretty much the exact same story, except mine's been in Indiana. Shipping actually estimated Tuesday, but after no movement for two days, it updated this afternoon to Thursday.

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
fuck walmart, they shipped today and it will arrive 1 day longer than it was supposed to (from tomorrow to the day after tomorrow)

Hey man I'm calling it a win. I was fully prepared to not be getting one at all, I can live with Wednesday.
