Bandai Namco says make your voice heard if you want Project CARS 2 on Switch

Project CARS 2 isn’t on Switch, and at least for now, that’s unlikely to change. However, if fans are vocal, it may not be entirely impossible.

In an interview with Fragments of Silicon, Bandai Namco community manager Cyrus Wesson was asked about a potential Switch port of some kind. Wesson responded by saying that if fans are interested, they should make their voices be heard by sharing comments on Bandai Namco’s social media pages or on the Project CARS website. The development team is said to be “extremely, extremely receptive” to feedback.

Cyrus’ full words:

“I can’t speak to a potential Switch version just because I don’t have that information. What I can say is that if people really, really do want a Switch version – I know the Switch is extremely popular right now – let us know on our social channels on Bandai Namco Entertainment Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, let us know everywhere, and we will definitely let the devs know that’s an ask. And the devs are extremely, extremely receptive to everything that’s going on social media, and everything their fans say, so you can also just let them know on the Project Cars website, and they will definitely receive that information.”

Many of you may recall that the first Project CARS was planned for Wii U. Developer Slightly Mad Studios even talked up the Wii U version a few times. Unfortunately, the game ended up being delayed before it was ultimately cancelled on the console.

For its part, Slightly Mad Studios did indicate that the Project CARS would be unlikely to appear on Switch earlier this year. But with the system doing so well and if the community asks for it, perhaps some sort of version wouldn’t be out of the question.

Bamco sure like to say that for any potential game on Switch uh...
Will it be like DBFZ where they say "ok it's cool but now you have to buy this game too"?

I don't see Project Cars 2 running well there anyway.

They crowdfunded this by baiting Nintendo fans and then didn't offer refunds. Fuck 'em.

Honestly I find this stuff so unbecoming when its from a company the size of Bamco. You should have people inside your company figuring out whether or not its a good business decision without this kind of public begging.

How about no. If you can't be bothered to do your own legwork to see if theres a market or not for a product then don't bother. All they're doing is using people for free marketing at the end of the day.

Yeah saw this before. The hell is it with Capcom and BN in tests and begging from Nintendo fans? BN said they wanted folks to buy Xenoverse 2 before they decide on FighterZ, and thankfully the game's obviously far surpassed their expectations. Problem is, they announced a deluxe edition for PS4 barely a month after the Switch version's release in Japan and 2 weeks in the west.

While IMO the Switch version more than earns its keep even in the face of that new competition, the fact remains that BN have no faith in the system, same with Capcom, where it's one test after another. Why is it that Bethesda have no trouble bringing their A game to Switch before even Skyrim is out to judge sales on, and this is a publisher infamous for their lack of Nintendo support for many gens.

And BN is one of Nintendo's most common collaborators on 1st-party games, such as Pokken, Smash 4, Mario Kart (8 and the GP games), ARMS, etc.

If you're going to beg Bandai Namco for anything, make your voice heard over Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth on Switch tbh.

Nah I’m good.
After the Wii U bit, well it’s just empty words that will yank people on until suddenly one day “whoops, guess we can’t get PC2 to run up to our standards on the switch either, maybe next time!”

Wasn't Project Cars one like impossible to get working on the Wii U? Switch isn't that much more powerful and plus there's no analog triggers.

And what about Dragon Ball FighterZ? Fans have been very vocal for that to hit the Switch and your answer was basically "Buy Xenoverse 2".

I'm okay in not supporting them after how the devs acted to the fans who supported their kickstarter and offering no refunds or offers to change your system of choice.

Had absolutely no idea any 'AAA' publisher was involved with this series, let alone this one.

Can't say I care at all about it, got other racing games I'd prefer to play but other Bandai Namco games do interest me. I'll keep "making my voice heard" for those games instead then, even though it upsets people for some reason.

They are saying this for literally everything. WTH

First DBFZ then SAO FB and now this.

Just put the god damn game

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Easiest way to get people to talk about a game that is underperforming? Let Switch owners believe the game could come to the plattform as long as they do the social and viral marketing for us... lol.

Though this would be one of the few high quality titles that would check that sim racer box on Switch. Though after the WiiU disaster with PC1 I wouldn't expect much.

Free marketing for them.

It honestly pisses me off. At least Capcom has the excuse of being very incompetent. Bamco just seem shitty. If you want to support the console, put some fucking games on it.

I wonder how Xenoverse 2 sold.

Wait, no. Please fucking revive Soul Calibur and release it on Switch.
This, also add Link again while you're at it.
Make it a sequel to SC2 on GC, but its a split timeline because Link.

Back to topic though, idk what demand they'd need. The first game was backed on kick starter by plenty trying to hit that stretch goal for Wii U, only to get burned at the end.

Aaaaaand fuck these guys.
Never touching anything they do.
There are enough games out there without having to fund actual scumbags.

I remember them heavily stressing the Wii U version of the original, then cancelling it. Even if it were announced, I’m not sure I would believe it’s coming.

I don't want it and I think it would sell terribly on switch, don't bother. Instead how about dat DB Fighterz?

Waste of time. Didn't the head of Slightly Mad Studios say he hated Nintendo fans back when they went back on doing a Wii U version of the first game. Pretty sure he's said some other things in regard to those that buy Nintenodo hardware as well. Fuck begging. Even if Bandai Namco made them do a version I don't doubt it would be horrible and have no care or attention put it into it. Think the current versions are buggy now? Bandai Namco and SMS can go jump off a cliff on this one. If we have to ask for a game there are better games and developers worthy of the time and effort.

I'm confused here by some comment yere. Sure I backed them the first time for Wii U version, but they didn't steal my money
They sent it back with sizable dividend. It's not Kickstarter per se.

axisofweevils

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
Wait, no. Please fucking revive Soul Calibur and release it on Switch.

Actually, I remember them saying fans should beg for that game on Wii U.

Fool me once, shame on you.. fool me twice...

Okay.

But I'm trying to get them to hear me about DBZ Fighters first.

Bamco sure like to say that for any potential game on Switch uh...

Sure....

But how about information of Tales on Switch....?

Yeah, Bandai Namco has got a lot to prove before anyone should fall for this shit again, after saying this about DBFZ and then changing their minds.

This is the third time Bamco says something like that. First with Fighters Z and then with Sword Art Online. They just want the free advertising

Do need a racing game to play on Switch. Though I'm still hoping EA ports either this year's Need for Speed or release a Switch version of next years.

How is Project Cars 2 anyways?

Yep.

I get the need to cancel the Wii U version because it was Wii U, but don't come around asking people to beg for the sequel after everything that happened.

Kind of gross
