Oh my the choice for the music couldn't be any worse, I actually closed the trailer before it ended.
It's a Vince Staples and Tupac.................................

No original cast?
I hate when that happen
Charlie Day and Burn Gorman are clearly shown in the trailer. I also thought I heard Rinko Kikuchi was in it, but maybe that was just rumors? I hope Max Martini shows up in some form, considering the insinuation that he would replace Idris Elba's character and become defacto leader, but haven't heard anything about that.
Rinko is briefly in the trailer too
Oh missed that. Looks like I need to check it out again. Got a time stamp?
Boyega's stache, why?
Embrace the baby face. Looking like a highschool kid out here.
It was del Toro. It didn't look generic for sure.What... Do you think the first movie was?
This is missing....something, but I can't put my finger on it. Pacific Rim was the perfect blend of corny and endearing. This seems to swerve too far to corny.
Music did not match the trailer at all. Yikes.
It still looks pretty good. It's giant robots smashing giant lizards in the face, lighten the fuck up people.
Amazing music choice. Looks great

This looks worse than the Tomb Raider trailer.

That trailer was insanely horrible. Wth at that music choice..
I'll never understand the complaints behind the choice of music in this trailer. It only makes me curious about the music of choice for many of the complainers.
The biggest blow to the sequel is that Del Toro isn't directing; him getting a producer credit could easily mean nothing, seeing how the script he worked on was rewritten a couple times over.

The feeling I get from the trailer is that this will be even weaker or on par with the first film in terms of relatable, interesting leads. I didn't much care for anyone in the first film, but loved the action sequences.
At least it's showing a set-piece daytime battle, which is a refreshing change. The visuals atm do look worse than the original, but there's time to tighten it up I suppose.

Why would complaints about using rap music for a sequel to a movie which even its trailers featured heavy guitar riffs is hard to understand?
The song wasn't used well in the trailer, doesn't really mean the song is bad.
Because the music seems to fit the sequel which itself seems to be a huge departure from most of the aesthetics and decisions of the first movie.
