More than likely this will just be the PS3 version with internal resolution increased to 4K. I doubt any of the videos/FMV's will get much remastering.

Just a matter of whichever is the easiest to port with the least amount of effort probably.

I honestly think that Star Ocean declines in quality with every iteration. SO > 2 > 3 > 4 > 5.
Also, 3 was the last time the series was actually good.

I disagree, and not just because I love every single Star Ocean game.

Star Ocean 4 obviously had some storytelling issues, and cutscene character animation not being mocapped was a rather large mistake, but everyone blows the game out of proportion because they hate a single character for some reason. Especially when there's a japanese dub, right there, which means you don't actually have to deal with her awful, AWFUL dubbed voice. Lymle's backstory only being told in the encyclopedia was one of the bigger storytelling issues I had with the game.

Truth be told, I actually liked the game. I've played SO1-4 and to this day SO4 is the only game in the series that I didn't drop and it managed to held my attention to the very end.

Lymle and (especially) Sarah still sound awful in Japanese. Thankfully Lymle's pretty useless and you can just turn Sarah's in-battle voice off.

Battle system is admittedly pretty fun, though it feels pretty shallow unless you're doing (non X-claw) Blindside juggles.
