Eminem draws the red line in Hip-Hop Awards cypher

Cole, Kendrick, Jay or somebody should have come this hard at Trump by now. Why is Eminem the one fighting against the racial injustices in the U.S. among hip hop artists? Migos, Yatchy, Uzi??? Anyone???

What makes you think em is "the one" fighting against racial injustice.

I hear plenty from Jay, Kendrick, and Cole that would fit the description, often.

Neighbors by J.cole is one of my favorite song Right now.

Don't expect anything from the latter 3... as they are morons...

We got our own battles to fight on our own soil
No more psychological warfare
To trick us to thinkin' that we ain't loyal
If we don't serve our own country
We're patronizin' a hero; look in his eyes, it's all lies
The stars and stripes have been swiped, washed out and wiped
And replaced with his own face, mosh now or die

"I never knew em could be like this about our own PRESIDENT"

Contradicting much?
How is that contradicting.

There are tons of bands or artists I liked as a kid but think they are crap now, especially around that age Perfect Blue mentioned.

Not wrong to think Eminem is shit, even if you agree on his views on Trump.

Ive always found his Slim Shady shit dumb too.

Anyone see this video?

Lmao, can't stop laughing. Trump is a clown.

Man, these people are something else

"It's braver to be a conservative!" ... "You can't hate neo-nazis just because you don't like their beliefs"

Good.
I never stopped myself. Still love his stuff.
I personally thought he came out strong his first three albums then he hit a slump but his last album was pretty good. I think he's definitely the best rapper alive right now. I will put Andre Benjamin second after him.

I don't even like Eminem much, but calling him irrelevant is factually incorrect. Dude is one of the very few artists out there who get high record sales. Not spotify streams, sales.

I especially like that he point blank told his Trump supporting fans "fuck you". Like, there's no misinterpreting that. A lot of people hero worship him, and their god just said they suck.

They'll just twist it to "He a celeb so gotta put on a face for public".

Donnie Baker is a joke character. Did you watch the video?

Is he diminishing EM? I'm a little confused.
I think he's just calling out the fact that Em can do what he did (rant on Trump) without much fear of serious recourse either to his career or more importantly, his actual life. He's certainly not disagreeing with Em's message or attitude, but is cautioning against the desire to heap praise upon someone who didn't really take much of a risk in expressing their opinion; especially when their ability to do so is part-and-parcel with the very issue they're speaking out against.

lmao this is awesome

Eminem is pathetic, dropping coffee pots? Really??? What a lyrical libtard, HELLYWOOD and its child raping, satanic brain dead California cult is DONE!!! Who really watches this shit???
DONE.

these people scare the fuck outta me. I can't imagine the narrative they have running in their minds all the time

So there was too much Trump bashing in other topics for your tastes so you decided to take this opportunity to even things out a bit.

Got it.

Oh please. Eminem gets political for thirty seconds and everyone's acting like he hasn't sucked for two decades. Good for him for telling his trump supporting fans to fuck off, because I would imagine there's a pretty big overlap between their fanbases, but he'll be back to angrily growling 90 syllables a second about farting on Ariana Grande or whatever before you know it

Don't know why I couldn't parse that. Makes sense though.

And he's just been a regular chuck d ever since huh

And the moving of goalposts begins.

Does he think Fox News is gonna go easy on Eminem? I mean of course it's inherently more dangerous for a black performer to put themselves out there like that, especially a pop artist like Beyonce, but making an album like TPAB certainly didn't hurt Kendrick's career. The guy that just released The Blacker the Berry was performing on Ellen and the focus of ESPN's NBA advertising.

Even more than Eminem being white, I think he is just the right person to do this because there is nothing right wing media can say about him that they haven't before. Being attacked by the news is old hat for Eminem.

i dont listen to j.cole anymore but Kenny has taken plenty of shots at trump maybe not as hard but multiple times, and spoken a great deal on racial injustices, . as for migos/yachty/uzi, that isnt the type of stuff they talk about in their music so idk i guess its not something to expect from them

Let's be honest here, taking ambiguous shots every now and then is not the same as going straight to the roots of the issue, tackled in a fucking cypher. YG did good with FDT, but he lacks the reach, and lyrical prowess, of somebody like Eminem.

Now he’s better at current events shit than the rappers that are poppin’. Thanks Trump???

Jay has been pro Black empowerment in his music since at least 2012. Kendrick literally dropped "Black Existential Crisis: The Album", a few years ago.

In general Black people understand Trump is a symptom of a larger problem. Going after Trump, the man, isn't pressing for Black socially conscious rappers. He's low hanging fruit in the grand scheme of things since we've always had bigger fish to fry. When Trump leaves office, the institutional monsters that hold us back will still be there. White supremacy, racism etc... have been called out since rap's inception.
