This could describe more or less any driver on the grid apart from the gawd Ricciardo.
Possibly. Vettel's got previous but he's supposedly a real gent IRL.

Nah. I know a few people that work in the industry in Milton Keynes. None of them have a good word to say about him. He's a petulant manchild. Completely false. You can see a glimpse of it at times in the winners room after a GP where he'll completely blank racers that he doesn't want to talk to for one reason or another. Exceptionally talented driver though.
Anyone willing to provide context on this guy?
Best F1 driver ever. Ok thats going to set people off and I maybe biased as a Hamilton fan, but he is undisputedly a great in the sport and has surpassed legends like Michael Schumacher for most pole positions etc.
He is a multiple drivers world champion in F1 though he is loved and hated in equal measure. He has a large social media presence which seems to rub people the wrong way and some people believe he is arrogant and bit of a drama queen, but mostly, he's just #blessed
So Hamilton is the manchild and not the people hating on him for no good reasons?
I bet Nic Hamilton is pissed. Wasn't he some big wig in the online gaming racing scene before getting into racing proper?
The hate hard on for Lewis is as strong as ever on GAF I see.
Verstappen may just top him in that regard.(As a german) I think he´s cool.
Also the upcoming World Champion.
Also the driver with the most raw talent in years.
Grosjean / Maldonaldo pairing would be soooo good.
Btw the Hamilton hate isnt a Neogaf thing. It happens on GAF but you can goto another forum or F1 article comments section and its the same.
Id say it pretty much mirrors real life as well. In the office, in the pub, out with pals..... I dont know many people who actually like him, respect him as a driver yeah, but as a half decent personality? I dont know many fans of his.
Verstappen may just top him in that regard.
I would love Ricciardo so muchVettel comes across as a bit of an ass at times as well. Ricciardo's probably the most likable of the lot
https://streamable.com/x8vufI've just said that people that deal with him on a semi regular basis have no time for him. People's reason for not liking him are their own. But he's shown on several occasions what a spoilt prick he can be, so I'd suggest they're not without merit.
Why the hate?
He's quite uppity.
It's potentially thorny thing to say but some of the Hamilton hate is also rooted in some slightly dodgy racial politics, not necessarily that people who don't like him are racist but more that he sticks out as a black celebrity that doesn't conform to what people expect from white celebrity in a historically incredibly white sport, in terms of how he dresses, his off-track interests, the lifestyle he leads.
That he gets labelled as arrogant or a diva when Vettel typically does not despite how we've seen them carry themselves especially in the last year is... mmm...
Shhhh, he's universally hated and he's a horrible man, don't show people smiling around him.

"It's probably cuz I'm black"
*slap*
Staged af.

Ah, salt from fans of other racers inboundThree-time Formula 1 world champion, soon four.
Good post thanksI'll give you the perspective of a Lewis defender, and then I'm sure the haters can provide their view:
He's black and came from a humble background to dominate F1 (first black man to do so). At the German GP a few years ago you could see people in stands wearing monkey outfits with Lewis' name on it - presumably meant to be some slight. I'm sure that's not what bothers all Lewis haters, but it's clearly the source of some hate.
He's a three time world champion, and currently ahead in the points on his way to number 4. He broke several qualifying records, and at this rate will probably be the greatest qualifier / pole position taker ever, if he has a few more seasons of this caliber. While there are those that will debate this point, he's an extremely skilled and talented driver who is very driven to stay on top.
Like every world champion I've ever seen, he gets very intense in the pressure cooker of a race and will snap back at engineers asking him to do stuff during a race, but I've also seen him be gracious enough to give back a spot to a teammate that he got through team orders - even when the loss of points put him further back from the #1 spot earlier this season. Despite being literally rear-ended by Vettel for going too slow while following a pace car under caution, he was shaking his hand post-race and laughing and joking with him within a race or two. While he's active on social media and hangs out with celebs - a natural source of saltiness - he's stayed well away from the excesses of the Bibers and douchebags that live to feed the tabloid media.
He also is very clearly taken with the history and traditions of the sport, literally moved to tears when the family of his racing hero (Senna) gifted him with Senna's helmet, when he broke Senna's qualifying record. Overall I think he's a great ambassador for the sport, lifting it's public profile beyond the immediate bubble of insiders.
The main comments I've seen from those who don't like him are either on the driving side - i.e. people think he's not really that talented since he's leading most races with little competition in the fastest car around, or because of his comments or attitude to teammates/compeitors (particularly the retired Nico Rosberg)
I always find it amazing how much hate Hamilton gets, and yet how much love Raikkonen gets - the latter being a genuinely rude asshole.
Even Button is a bigger knob than Hamilton!

He's black
But what about Jeff Gordon
I'd love to see Kimi in this role because he would be silent most of the time, or half insulting. Which would be perfect.

Plenty of American experts in Forza games.
Just drive, I don't care.
