It's all from the same area they've shown a bunch, but no one talking over it. Now you can here the gorgeous music and battle banter.
Beautiful vistas, chatty battles, snappy movement, long falls, and NPCs fading into existence 15 feet away from the player. This sure is a Xenoblade game.

Have we gotten confirmation on whether the NPC relationship tree is back?
All I hope is that they figure out a better way of "Affinity Quests" than how it was handled in XenoX. I just hated having to grind to get NPC affinity up in order to do their quests, since of course for the Main Quests you relied mainly on Elma and Lin so their affinity's were no issue. And of course having to travel to "recruit" the NPC back into your group was just so tedious.

Would be nice for someone to capture some GIFS from the new vids, there's a lot of nifty parts that would make great gif material.

Almond??? :D

Hmm...

Rex's glove weapon driver arts set is new.

Break/topple/launch X blade arts/elements attack gives you some bonus like topple time +1sec/attack up/team gauge up.

EDIT: A minute too late I see.

I said it many times... Was worried about the blurriness of the picture but this videos have changed my mind. It looks great. Don't know how they have made it but props!

^ I can't get over how goddamn ugly the location popup is lol. It actually looks okay in those tiny gifs, but it's like legit placeholder tier when watching proper gameplay. It's so weird.

The Torna members are up.

Now these I like. A bit busy still, but otherwise good.

I can only imagine they'll treat these characters the most annoying way possible.

This dude looks like he's about to give Rex a 5 minute speech about darkness. I joked about Nomura's characters referencing FFVII before, but the expression and hand curl in this shot are giving me some Xehanort vibes.

Watching a typical chatty Xenoblade Chronicles combat video after the new XC2 ones really makes it stand out how I do not enjoy the voice acting of the new characters so far :(

Exploration still looks fun, the town looks good, combat.... is there. I'm still in. I really hope the story is great.

The new videos are getting me hyped up again.

The simple reason is THE MUSIC!

It's atmospheric, it's wonderful, it's Xenoblade!

Can't wait to play it.

Chatty during fight is one thing, but this is unbearable:

Them having annoying voices doesn't help either.

Lmao, it's pretty much physically impossible for them to talk more, this is just nuts. Would be great if they toned it down a bit.

There's so much chatter that it becomes just pointless noise.

Combat looks increasingly more fun the more I see of it, though. I'm still not expecting much from the story, but if the gameplay is even nearly as fun and addictive as XBX's was, I'll be real happy with this game.

It reminds me a little of BoTW's (English) location / boss text in that regard. XB2's is better integrated into the rest of the UI, however.

X's UI might have been tiny and unreadable, but I think I preferred the overall look - I guess it's not feasible to scale elements between handheld and docked use.

Man, I really don't like the character models in this game. I really hope Xenoblade reverts back to Xenoblade 1's artystyle in the future.

Never give up all hope! Just prepare to be disappointed, or not.
Well, another recent JRPG threw in a surprise party member and it turned out to be exactly who I hoped it would be, but I'm not sure if lightning can strike twice in one year.

I guess we'll see.

My suggestion would be that they give players a slider that let's them tone down the battle banter. Players could go as far as turning it off completely, or turning it up to the max (where everyone seems to be constantly saying something). But you'd have the range of options that is in between those extremes. One could set it so that they all talk, but they may say something and then remain silent for the next 10/15/20/30/40/50/60-120-? seconds. Perhaps even with that you could disable voices by the character (for battle banter only).

If you could simply disable them shouting out the Arts name you'd already be saving a lot of cringe-worthy performances and general noise pollution.

It's not happening though, I'm getting fully prepared to turn off the volume during fights...

Will this have JP dub? I am seriously not someone who plays in Japanese, can't remember a game I did that, other than the games that just don't have an English dub like Yakuza, but this is really bad, that I have to play in Japanese.

My only issue is that I find Nia's voice just a little too deep for her character, but there is absolutely nothing worse with the voice acting than you'd find in any other JRPG. At least it's clear from those complaining about party banter who has never played a Xenoblade game before.

Yeah, my biggest issue with all Xenoblade games is that there's no voices volume slider. Hopefully this one will have one, but I try not to expect it.

Was X anywhere near this level? I played a good 35-40 hours of X and don’t remember combat dialogue being bad at all.

EDIT: A minute too late I see.

In the first video the chain attack seemed to have ended before the element could burst. I guess that means chain attacks are probably based on random chance that increases with party affinity like XBC again. If that is the case then it's a bit strange that the chain link QTE didn't show up in any of the previous footage.

Probably because when you are actually playing the game you don't focus so much on it.

If you don't burst an element by the third character then you don't get a second cycle through. Damage on the orbs is based on what elements you use against them, as each element has a specific weakness.

This and X seem about the same in terms of how much talking is going on. X might even stand to be slightly more prominent because the whole Soul Voice subsystem it has usually doesn't work right because everybody talks so much.

This is just hilarious to me. I kinda love it.

Nah,it's a little much,I am pretty sure you will be able to tone it down or turn it off completly...I mean, how can anyone think people will like this...let some skills be heard but not everything like this..just leave the Chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarge in though at the start lol.

Fall damage seems to be back. Music and environments are really nice too.
The town seems like it's pretty well done.

Seems like the characters might be a bit chatty. They ain't no Ryan time either

Here's more https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2upJSkchtU

They are fighting an enemy that's 4 levels higher than them early on.

The funny thing is all the chattiness from the original never bothered me. My husband and I would just laugh sometimes(I'm really feeling it)

This is a ridiculous claim. There wasn't such an overload of audio noises like in the video that I linked in the previous games.

Party banter is fine, poor audio mix it is not.

It's like that in every Xenoblade game. Shit was insane in X.

I don't mind it as long as its witty and nutty like the first game. The banter was the best XBC

I have over 200 hours in Xenoblade X and it was never that bad (characters shouting in parallel one over the other with practically no break for several minutes).
