At the E3 when they started their PC initiative, I had always said it is a good thing for Microsoft and consumers. The only people that have a problem with it are die-hard Xbox fans who want to feel special about exclusivity for their console.

I really don't find this true at all. Anti-Xbox people (and there are plenty here including yourself) bring up lack of true exclusives constantly like it's their sole mission in life.

I don't know why you have PubG in there. Microsoft just paid for timed exclusivity. PubG was solely created on the backings of Early Access on Steam.

Also, Cuphead and State of Decay are relatively small budget games, and Cuphead is also a paid exclusive as it was not published by Microsoft.

Can anyone find the article or quote that said a launch date for Crackdown 3? Has it been delayed twice or just once? I am having trouble finding any solid launch plans other than "Spring 2018" announced last year. I am also trying to figure out why this is such a big deal to some people?

Sure, they aren't all amazingly reviewed, but they are decent games and only on Xbox consoles.

Crackdown is delayed for the first, or possibly second time to get some more polish and here we are ready for E3. I would assume we get release dates for Ashen and Below(two amazing looking games that I am most interested in) and we will hear/see more on Crackdown 3. We are supposedly getting news on more Halo, Gears and Forza for this year and we are supposedly getting news on studio acquisitions and what those studios have been up to.

This is what the article meant by compelling exclusives back in December. Everything outside of PUBG is niche and that's why people are asking for big AAA titles that's going to attract them and other gamers to the Xbox platform. People continue to say, "Microsoft is fine. None of these things are exclusive to Xbox. Every old game you've ever played on PC is still there, game pass is there and Red Dead in 4k will be there after Rockstar milks the fans to death on consoles like they did with GTAV.

And, like -MD- said, a majority of gamers have gaming PCs. A lot of them aren't buying anything. They're just getting $100. For the people who prefer playing on consoles, sure, they'll keep their Xbox. There's not many otherwise Xbox sales would be a lot higher.

I agree with you on Halo revelenace. But I do think as far as an arena shooter and multiplayer in Halo 5: Guardians it's quite good. Gunplay and gameplay is very smooth, technically runs and looks very good on Xbox One X and is solid overall. However, the campaign was mismarketed and is a complete cluster fuck and insult to the previous Halo games.

Hoping that Halo: Infinity will be better story wise. Whatever it might be.

3D platformers Super Mario Odyssey is king. Not sure why Lucky Tale is even mentioned. Game is a cheap shot for 3D platformers and lacks a lot.

Gears of War 4 is an impressive game visually and technically. Multiplayer is varied and ton of fun. Horde mode is fantastic. HDR and 60fps is drop dead gorgeous. I am not sure what gripe people have with this game to be honest.

It's one of my favorite Xbox One/PC games. Yeah, maybe the story isn't as good and the game is a bit more colorful than others but perhaps people wanna go back to the grittier version.

Recore was pretty bad, horribly optimized and ran like shit and looked shit too. Keiji Inafune did not care for the game, he cared more about money. Game had good ideas. If there is a ever a sequel though I hope he never touches it and Microsoft gives it to a better developer and higher budget.

As far as multiplayer and online social features go and game pass goes. Yes Xbox Is king. Far better than Sony in my opinion. I love the echo system personally and it still has a ton of room for potential growth.

That's a little harsh but Xbox does have some bests. I don't think anyone can take anything from Forza, Gears or Cuphead and they are tops in their class. After that though it's all PS4.

Racing - Forza, Forza Horizon, Gran Turismo, DriveClub, Wipeout. I believe most give this to Xbox.

Sports - MLB The Show, Everybody's Golf. I can't think of many other worthwhile exclusive sport franchises, so this would go PlayStation

Shooter (offline main focus) - Uncharted, Last of Us, Quantum Break, The Order, Killzone, Recore - PS4

Online Competitive Shooter - Drawn to Death, PUBG (for now at least), Halo, Titanfall (part 1) - Xbox

Action - God of War, inFamous, Gravity Rush, Yakuza, Bloodborne, DQ Heroes, Nioh, The Order, Gears of War, Sunset Overdrive - PS4 wins

Adventure - Until Dawn, Detroit Become Human, The Last Guardian, Shadow of the Colossus, Everybodys Gone to the Rapture, Ryse- PS4

JRPG - Persona 5, Dragon Quest (exclusive when just comparing PS and Xbox), DQ Builders, World of Final Fantasy, Nier Automata (for now at least), Atelier games, Tales of gIames, Disgaea, Ni No Kuni. Clearly PS4 dominates this category

Western RPG - Horizon Zero Dawn, Undertale, Dragon's Crown - PS4

3D Platformer - Lucky's Tale, Little Big Planet, Knack, Tearaway, Ratchet and Clank - PS4

2D Platformer - Cuphead, Ori and the Blind Forest, Odin Sphere, Salt and Sanctuary - Salt and Sanctuary is one of my favorite games of the generation, but both Cuphead and Ori are great, so advantage Xbox

Fighting - Killer Instinct, Street Fighter V, Dissidia Final Fantasy - SF is still a much bigger deal than KI, PS4

Twinstick Shooter - Resogun, Alienation - PS4

MMO - Final Fantasy XIV - PS4

Yeah, he isn't doing much name calling or trolling, he's just saying either ridiculous opinions about games he clearly hasn't played or just stating things that are factually wrong (PS4s first AAA exclusive was Uncharted 4, etc).

Let's take you at your word, if PS4 had such a shitty launch and didn't have a good AAA exclusive until 2016, why is it outselling the Xbox at more than 2 to 1? 80 mill to 30 mill? Is everyone just blind to your infinite knowledge and wisdom?

A lot of variables played into that, but games certainly was a big one. Other variables include forcing in an accessory people didn't want, then not putting out any games for said accessory while launching a weaker box at 100 dollars more, then slithering in some of the most anti consumer DRM policies to the point Gamestop was handing out fliers to not buy an Xbox.

Just to name a few reasons anyways. MS has since done a good job undoing all the damage in all regards aside the one that matters to us most, which is their lineup. MS was extremely aggressive on both Xbox and 360 and they just went from that to making post on Twitter celebrating Zelda and God of War launches while canceling Scalebound.
