That is clearly a demographics thing. And Nirolak posted just as much here, when they were here with said demographics.

ResetEra was pretty much GAF, to the 'T' before they mass banned people and took them over to the forum they made themselves. This place seems much calmer now, yes for now slower, but the discourse is allowed to be more diverse as well, and ironically it seems less toxic due to that. Go figure, eh? Not making up bullet point rules on the fly (retro-ing them into OPs), and telling people they can only engage with one type of opinion (see: theirs) on hot topics, would make for a less aggressive and stressful community. Shocker /s.

I still scroll through the thread titles on ERA Gaming once every few days to pick up some of the more obscure news. The forum isn't all bad. It does have an advantage that with more people comes more gaming news threads. It's just not the type of environment I want to be an active poster in.

That's understandable. Some people like ERA, some people like GAF, some people like both. Which is why I don't like it when people are shitting on a forum, wherever it's GAF, ERA, Reddit etc. Criticizing is fine, but calling something cancer is not good criticism.

Transgenderism is a legitimate medical condition, despite the political games WHO wants to play. The technical term is “gender dysphoria”, which means the gender perceived by the brain doesn’t match the physical gender.

Yes, they are the same thing, but the terms “shemale” and “tranny” are apparently considered offensive nowadays. I don’t know the history of how that came about, whether it’s due to historical use as derogatory terms or the association with porn.

NeoGAF recently banned a dude who had more inside information regarding Microsoft games being unveiled at E3 and rumored studio acquisitions than ResetERA had in its entirety on its forum. No joke.

While, yes, we don't know them personally - we can go by their actions. Whether that would be how they act on the forum, how they moderate, or their twitter - it is clear that the majority of those mods are deranged in the purest sense of the word.

Also, a cancer can be described as "a pernicious, spreading evil", which is apt to what ResetEra is and the mindset it tries to push with its ties to certain industry "professionals" such as Schrier/Walker/Klepek and other like minded fools.

Usually trans folk undergo hormone therapy as well as gender reassignment surgery to look/feel more like the sex/gender they believe they are/should be. Personally I am of the belief that they can do as they like as long as they do not lie to prospective partners or the medical professionals about their sex as well as acting like an all around decent person. They have every right to feel better and we as a society have the tools to help do such.

This is kind of off topic here, but how do you know it's "not a mental issue"? How are you certain the problem is physical and not mental? I've never seen a convincing/satisfactory answer to that question.

It is 100% a mental issue given the myriad of studies and research articles that were published by PhD holding scientists that I have read and come to understand. I am not "being an asshole" for stating as such. The only one doing so would be you for calling someone an asshole for stating a fact. I am a scientist, I focus on facts before feelings. I suggest you do as well.
