Bug was a horrible game. Play mechanics was crap....
I agree it wasn't the best. It was an interesting idea. Though.

The Saturn version of Panzer Dragoon Saga could never be on it because Sega lost the source code.
But I don't think you need the source code unless you are doing a Remaster. There is people out there playing it with a Saturn Emulator. The Saturn version of Panzer Dragoon Saga could never be on it because Sega lost the source code.
Seeing all the comments like "I've never played a Saturn" or "I've never seen one in real life" makes me sad.
I'm relatively new to the system (started my Saturn collection only a few years ago) but it is seriously the best system from that generation if you love arcade games. Neither PS1 nor N64 nor Jaguar nor any of the other systems can hold a candle to Saturn's arcade library.
I forgot about Deep Fear owned the import version in the past, Good Resident Evil clone, Didn't they realease this in Europe, The Saturn Gungriffon was great,I got on the Saturn bandwagon late in it's lifecycle when it finally clearanced out, but I'd love to see :
- Sega Rally
- Burning Rangers
- Panzer Dragoon Zwei
- Marvel Super Heroes
- NiGHTS (with Christmas NiGHTS)
- Die Hard Arcade
- Guardian Heroes
- Policenauts (a guy can dream)
- Snatcher (a guy can keep dreaming)
- Assault Suit Leynos 2
- Tomb Raider
- Deep Fear
- Virtua Fighter 2
- Manx TT
- Daytona USA CCE
- X-Men : Children of the Atom
- Gungriffon
- Sonic 3d Blast
- Astal
- Skeleton Warriors (Don't laugh, the soundtrack is fuckin FIRE)
Actially yeah you're right. They only need the ROM file. But I don't think you need the source code unless you are doing a Remaster. There is people out there playing it with a Saturn Emulator.
Same here! I own "only" two Shmups, though. Soukyugurentai and Battle Garegga. However, my search right now is focused on getting Panzer Dragoon Saga, haha. Can recommend Burning Rangers! But it's not really an arcade game, though. I'm still amazed by how weird the system's architecture is. Including their rendering pipeline with quads as primitves etc. But at least Sega cared about texture mapping more than the PS1, the VDP1 used forward texture mapping (well, kinda natural if you use quads anyway) whereas the PS1 used affine space for texture mapping. So, you either had to spent additional operations to correct this or you just wing it and have this unpleasant texture-warping effect. Saturn is hard to figure out, though. Both CPUs shared one bus and couldn't access memory at the same time. Quite annoying.Seeing all the comments like "I've never played a Saturn" or "I've never seen one in real life" makes me sad.

Agreed! The system really shines on a CRT, too. Although I could get a bit more color by using SCART, the system looks pretty darn good through S-Video cables.Same here! Oh boy, I need to try that. Haven't connected it to a CRT (don't have one currently...). I hear good things about the Trinitron TV line by Sony.Agreed! The system really shines on a CRT, too. If you're CRT hunting, I'll let you in on a secret:Oh boy, I need to try that. Haven't connected it to a CRT (don't have one currently...). I hear good things about the Trinitron TV line by Sony.
Thanks! I very much appreciate the "secret" . Will keep that in mind!If you're CRT hunting, I'll let you in on a secret:
Trinitrons are nice. However, getting a good CRT is more about avoiding the worst brands instead of finding the "best" brands. Avoid Sharp, Zenith, and Memorex. The Panasonic Tau line is equivalent to the Trinitrons, in my opinion. Pretty much any CRT from Panasonic, Hitachi, Toshiba, JVC, or NEC are good if they're from the mid 90s to early 2000s. Trinitrons are well-built but their name is so well-known that you can easily get several CRTs for the price of one Trinitron.
Be cautious with "HD CRTs" that display in 480p or higher. Some of them have sharpening or digital processing that introduces lag.
If you delve into PC CRT monitors, ViewSonic is a brand to look out for.
I played it on ps1 before, its ok at best didn't really care for it. I rather have Lunar.I am legit shocked Grandia has been mentioned only twice in this thread given it is without a doubt the most well known classic jrpg of the Saturn and arguably one of the best across all consoles. Sakura Taisen would be nice as well, and SotN of course given I have never played the possibly superior saturn version.

I didn't miss key titles. I need 20 only. So I had to pick the best ones and Zwei and Saga are far superior to original Panzer. Also Tomb Raider I prefer the PSX version.Good list, but you missed some key titles.
Panzer Dragoon - No way should this be left off
Daytona - Shitty port or not this needs to on there
Die Hard Arcade - no explanation needed
Tomb Raider - The game debuted on the system and the colors were pure and not a dithered mess. PS still was better though =(
Steep Slope Sliders - This would be my guilty pleasure pick
You missed Virtual Hydlide, Iron Storm, and D.
More likely but Sega haven't exactly been quick of the mark to bring it out...hell they could have launched it in 2014/2015 to mark the 20th anniversary of its launch but didn't.. they are more interested in how many more genesis iterations they can bring out even now...what with their latest genesis collection releasing few months back and the mini version of that console coming up on the horizon..While this is 100% true, I think a Saturn Saturn miniconsole is significantly more likely.
They could also make a Sega master system mini, though it most likely wouldn't sell well.
If SEGA put some honest R&D and gave us properly emulated home systems + SEGA's arcade catalogue, along with ports (or conversion cables) for legacy controllers, I'd pay $300 for it.All the better reason to have one digital system that includes all Sega home systems. None of them would sell in significant numbers on their own, aside from possibly Genesis. Their brand just doesn't have the same pull it did 25 years ago. Circle the wagons and build the brand with a Criterion/Netflix console, release all the software titles, and court indie software developers for new titles.
the only real game I liked on sega master system was psychic world. I think they also had the 1st sonic game. At the time though their mascot was Alex Kid I think, which was a terrible mascot. All the better reason to have one digital system that includes all Sega home systems. Saturn Silhouette Mirage with a new and un-fucked localization would be worth the price alone. What games would you want the system to come with?
Here is my list.

4. Nights Into Dreams
5. Radiant Silvergun
6. Silhouette Mirage
