The guillotine part is reprehensible of course, but the others are only indicative of one thing: Luckily, taxation is not solely decided on by the rich and even if the super-rich oppose a tax hike for the super-rich, such a law can be passed and then they have to pay the increased taxes even if they would rather spend the money elsewhere.

You should visit Era, Scopa. It's a way you can dip into a territory of the so called "anti-facist" group of people and watch they failing to realise what they really become: the future of facism.

"Well of course they would say that, that's why you don't ask them you just take it."

Looks like some of these lads were not paying attention in Consent Class.

Just looked at their GOTY Awards thread.

The Admin has posted a decline in voting fron 2017 to 2018. They could state that this is due to a lack of interest but we all know it is more down to the amount of bans they would get if they voted for games they don't agree with.

Surprised they displayed this information if they want it to be kept a secret but at least we know.

Just a heads up!

I personally didn't vote on, ERA, PC gaming ERA thread or on MetaCouncil because I wasn't interested and the main reason for me not being interested is because that I didn't feel I have played enough of the games from 2018. I own lots of games that are considered "great" like Astrobot, Obra Dinn, DQXI etc. but I have barely played them, so I didn't feel right to make a goty list.

So, actually, the era admin is right, about me at least.

Because taxes are a matter of consent. I wonder where the Yoshi is commiting tax fraud meme is coming from then. How can not consenting to paying taxes be fraud?

I haven't lurked on resetera for quite a bit (except for the Media Create Thread), gotta say I don't miss it, things get a little too wild over there... but that link Matt posted was kind of tempting so I looked through a tiny bit. It wasn't too wild, but at least 4 people agreed to or at least implied that they would slaughter rich people... on the first page.

This is gonna sound stupid I guess, but what do people have against rich people?

It's unfair that people have more or way more than them.

They are tried after working, feel they work hard and should have more.

Are apparently unaware that how much they make depends on factors like skills, education, uniqueness and not energy level after their shift is complete.

Shit like that. Basically that they'd have more if it was for those meddling kids and their dog Rich people taking all the money.

Yeah, I kind of figured. I was hoping their was more to it then them being jealous. It's really petty imo.

If you did eliminate these “rich” people, they still wouldn’t get their money. Because they aren’t skilled or educated to replace them. It’s not like they are CEO ready and just can’t get the job because that market is too saturated with potential candidates.

It’s just the reality. A cashier is a cashier and while you could hire them to run a company, they wouldn’t know the first thing about it.

I dunno. There are some people I would say have earned their money and fame. People like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, or Elon Musk. However, then you have people like Tom Cruise, Halle Barry, or others that I honestly don't understand how they can be paid so much for doing so little.

Why people are willing to pay so much for a cruise or berry is also unknown to me.

Or that White collar and Blue collar jobs aren't paying well enough for QoL as wealth gets redistributed to the rich.

Whatchu mean?

They don't want big corporations anymore, they want to wait in bread/ration lines.

These people also don't realize they're Gulag material with their lack of skillsets.

Why would they be able to pay so little? If the answer is that the worker is easily and quickly able to be replaced, then that’s an issue of skills.
Was the industry ever paying well? Majoring in Ancient Alien Therory probably not the best career decision.

There are way more factors than just they greedy y’all.

FFS, It was a joke.
How was that not obvious?

Though, now that I think about it, even if you don't pay your taxes they are not taken from you by force but rather you will face some other punishment.

So, for example, say you invite your friend round for tea.
Then they decide they don't want tea.
Well you can't just force them to drink tea.
However, maybe you just don't invite them around anymore or maybe you don't talk to them anymore.

Beginning to think you didn't pay attention in Consent Class too?

(Also a joke, by the way)

Just look at Academia and those trying to earn PhDs and Master's. The average stipend for a graduate student working anywhere between 1-3 years is 27,791 USD within the US. However, that is taking into account some of the very high end stipends that very few obtain. I have seen some earn as little as 18,000. Most graduate students also work anywhere between 50 hours on average to 70+ a week. These are usually highly skilled people within the fields they work and are not easily replaced. At least in the science/math/medical fields.

I can only say it like this without being too specific.

My wife didn’t go for her masters in her field because there wasn’t any real benefit for her. So instead She got her MBA.

The choices you make are your own. But you got to own them. She knew before furthering education.

My sister in law majored in photography. Never used it. Hates traveling. She never had a future in it. Why she took it idk.

However my next door neighbor is a regional director. MBA and a few other things. One being insurance writing designations. The insurance stuff means nothing for her job, has zero effect on her pay. She probably did it to make her resume unique.

Wages have been stagnating when you factor in interest and what you can get for your dollar for years even among jobs among the skilled in good industries. You can't disagree with wealth distribution figures from the last 40 years, it's simply gotten fucked for the average American.

The only reason America got complacent with the wealth distribution and inequality is because we've been able to get cheap manufacturing from China, mass produced products that are unfortunately not as well made, as well as the allure of places like Walmart (for the cheapest price at all costs!) that end up killing local shops and aggregating money out of a community. If those hadn't been there the stagnation of wages would have been directly felt with Americans not buying as much as they have been able to to keep them complacent.

Sadly, Chemistry is kinda required to have at least a Master's to get any decent research positions. :p

Sure. But there are also tons of people taking their money and time and investing it in education that either won’t pay or isn’t necessary.

What I mean is while a car dealership my happily hire someone how has their MBA, it wouldn’t be a wise use of your time and money to get your MBA for a career in car sales.

True. Not all degrees are created equally - but it still sucks that those that basically require the Master's/PhD for decent to great job opportunities have to suffer with such little pay for over half a decade.

Nah. Next page over he is complaining about life with them.

I caught some of it and I think the video he made is for after you play it. It did cover the start of the game and I stopped it. It wasn’t really tech related but more of a comparison between the games. Something that I don’t want to see until I’m done with a first play thru.
