I mean, I saw Battle Angel last week and the teaser trailer section was really something else. We had 5 trailers... Shazam, Xmen-Dark Prophecy, Avengers Endgame, Spiderman Far from Home and Captain Marvel. That was it. 5 comic book movie trailers, 4 of them from Marvel.

This video is a load of horseshit. Cinemas in Australia generally only show what's available within a week and update every Wednesday. Advance tickets are generally sold for big films.

Look at all the Captain Marvel times and you'll see they are all Gold Class and VMAX. Cinemas in Australia typically have 2-3 Gold cinemas and a VMAX cinema. They always typically play big budget films only. There are another 6-8 cinemas where other films will play.

Wait until after Captain Marvels run finishes and you'll still see that current films can only be bought within the week.

I don’t think that is the point or issue. The issue is we have like 10 comic book movies coming out every year now. That is a lot of competition for other studios and they are less likely to take more chances going toe to toe against Marvel/DC. All we want is a little more variety in Blockbusters and unfortunately the ones that do take chances get a fraction of what a Marvel movie will make and that’s just sad.

And you can see the influence of marvel movies affecting other movies. How many other "universes" have tried to be started in that past few years and failed.

Alita is a good example. It's a great movie that was completely overshadowed because of the incoming Captain Marvel advertising. After a while it just comes off as suffocating.

This is a Japanese adaptation FINALLY done right and a movie made with a lot of passion. The movie is doing just fine in foreign markets but I guess Americans are just not interested in movies from Asian cultures

No one doubts the movie will do good, it's a Marvel movie for crying out loud, it can't fail.

Honestly I never liked the character as of late. Sense Civil War 2, she has been a pretty bad person who takes the law directly into her hands and determines whose innocent and who is guilty by her own moral standings, and no one bats an eye. So like the Thor movies (never really liked the character) I'm skipping them.

Look at A Akira1983 . He actually thinks he is making a difference by giving Disney 20 bucks opening night. I'm guessing he has read a dozen articles about imiginary trolls "attacking" the movie, and he is going to send a message.

It's a really effective way to market a film, if not incredibly cynical. Convince people to invest monetarily into a price of corporate fluff because it's the moral and right thing to do. Say you're supporting a cause, in this case women and that you're sticking it to the enemy.

Kong: Skull Island is otherwise one of my favorite movies in recent years (if you haven't seen it it's way underrated) and at the time when I first saw it I knew nothing about her, but it's gonna be hard to go back and watch it now with her in it.

To be fair, it's not like she did a bad job in the movie or anything, but knowing how she is now it's gonna put a damper on that movie, I wish it was any other actress.

I’ll be going to see this not on opening weekend, but as soon as time frees up. The Marvel movies since Iron Man have been like one long season of a tv show that’s finally about to wrap up.
