Well, he does have a point somehow, though he sure could have phrased it better...
I mean, I saw Battle Angel last week and the teaser trailer section was really something else. We had 5 trailers... Shazam, Xmen-Dark Prophecy, Avengers Endgame, Spiderman Far from Home and Captain Marvel. That was it. 5 comic book movie trailers, 4 of them from Marvel.
For the love of everything that is saint, it's about time that something changes.
I think his point was "aren't you people tired of watching the same shit" and yeah I can sympathize. As someone who has been watching these superhero movies since Keaton's Batman, there is a shitton of them.I’m not sure “what the fuck is wrong with you people” for liking comic book movies is a point
I guess I never get tired because I watched 60 movies last year and 5 were super hero ones. But I also live in a big city where you can see a larger variety of movies.I think his point was "aren't you people tired of watching the same shit" and yeah I can sympathize. As someone who has been watching these superhero movies since Keaton's Batman, there is a shitton of them.
That wasn't the case when I was younger.

Look, there is nothgin wrong with it but come on. I remember watching X-men in cinema back in 2000, which was the movie that started all this. I was 14. I‘m 32 now and we‘re getting more comic book movies than ever before...I’m not sure “what the fuck is wrong with you people” for liking comic book movies is a point
And the saga continues:
Bullshit.
His father was Wakandan and his mother was not (So her ancestors are his as well as his father's who his father's side didn't suffer the same fate because they were Wakandan too). His father didn't have to be killed by a white cop in order to for him to see the racism and injustice happening to black people on America and all over the world. Him getting into MIT wasn't even mention he was a Navy Seal Black Ops. What the hell does affirmative action have to do with anything? You just made that shit up.
Killmonger wasn't even in power long enough to initiate what he wanted to do. So there was at no point and time enough for him to kill any warlords. In fact, his Father was the one who had the idea of liberating Black people in America after witnessing the injustices happening to his people here, and Erik lived through that so him taking up his father's mission was something that turned into a dream. For him to take his rightful seat at the throne of Wakanda and liberate his people from oppression no matter who was causing it, all over the world. He did not say kill all white people, he said anyone opposing him will be destroyed, though.
Yes, black people can sympathize with him because if you look into the history that America refuses to teach when it comes to black people. It's gross, it's vehemently wrong, and there's really no forgiving it. There's not any Black person who has not thought about having power and wiping out such evil people who continue to be unjust to our people. You don't have to be a BLM member to feel that, but the way Killmonger went about it was wrong, understandable and justifiable in a way, but wrong. Genocide is never the answer, colonization is never the answer. That would make him, and Wakanda just like those people. He could have went a different route but he was too blinded by his raw anger. He took that impulse of an idea, and made it his life.
Thank goodness for hysterical morons who actually admit they don't know what they're talking about to expose the Deep state/Disney (same thing).
So wait, we shouldnt see that Movie, but then when it bombs its also our fault ? OoOkay I think shit is out of control.
Captain Mabel
@CaptainMabel
Star Wars fan since 2017. The Last Jedi is the BEST Star Wars movie. Brie Larson is a Goddess. Ask me about my Feminist agenda. Zhe/Zher.#Reylo#CaptainMarvel

Yes, we have always been served sequels before but what is going on with the Marvel stuff for some time now is unprecedented in the movie history. It‘s rock bottom of creativity.
If you are white and male then yes.So wait, we shouldnt see that Movie, but then when it bombs its also our fault ? Oo
was like who is Captain Mabel? lol ok:

one of the posted artworks is Rey making out with Kylo Ren. isn't that throwing mixed signals here? Kylo Ren is a toxic male Nazi. he was in command watching an entire star system of planets destroyed. he spent the last movie manipulating the strong female lead into being a whimpering lovestruck puppy. i guess "You are nothing, but not to me" is perfectly cool behavior, not abusive at all /s
is this an ironic toxic male pretending to be a SJW or something? idg these people, they make no sense.
I don’t think that is the point or issue. The issue is we have like 10 comic book movies coming out every year now. That is a lot of competition for other studios and they are less likely to take more chances going toe to toe against Marvel/DC. All we want is a little more variety in Blockbusters and unfortunately the ones that do take chances get a fraction of what a Marvel movie will make and that’s just sad.I’m not sure “what the fuck is wrong with you people” for liking comic book movies is a point

That’s why I said “like” and yea we got Alita Battle Angle but it very much looks like we won’t get a sequel. 7 to 8 is a lot. That’s 7-8 months out of the year we get comic book movies and that is major competition. There is only so much money to go around and most people rather go see a comic book movie because it’s a safe bet and the box office returns for many other movies shows that. The summer time is way over bloated with movies and a major chuck of that is Marvel movies. Not only that a lot of the other blockbusters that come out are milking other franchises, Jurassic World, Terimator, Star Wars, and so on.Is it really 10? Isn't it more like 7 or 8 (and that includes CGI movies). And Alita Battle Angel just came out. We seem to get alot of blockbuster movies every year that aren't comicbook hero movies.

Im not arguing the quality of them just simply saying there are too many in a short period of time, and that just goes for summertime in general. It's a safe bet, because almost all MCU movies are good and at worse they are of average quality yet you still have fun watching them. A lot of movie companies can't seem to produce films at this level.
And you can see the influence of marvel movies affecting other movies. How many other "universes" have tried to be started in that past few years and failed. That’s why I said “like” and yea we got Alita Battle Angle but it very much looks like we won’t get a sequel. 7 to 8 is a lot. Alita is a good example. It's a great movie that was completely overshadowed because of the incoming Captain Marvel advertising. After a while it just comes off as suffocating.
As it was stated before no one is stopping or shaming you from watching the movie if you want to. And as far as I know no one here is doing some social media campaign here against the movie. We are just bringing some facts about the consequences of some some "silly words" which came from an actress. Mass hysteria can and will be one of those consequences. Are men throwing bigger tantrums than woman these days? It's a fucking movie. People need to chill the fuck out. The only reason this movie would have posted dates going out so far is because you can pre-order tickets. It's not going to be the only movie in the theaters. The ignorance and hysteria about this is through the roof.

with a 94% on rotten tomatoes and over 22 thousand reviews I think people are saying it’s more than just “average” also I knew jack shit about the SM and still really enjoyed the movie. This is a Japanese adaptation FINALLY done right and a movie made with a lot of passion. The movie is doing just fine in foreign markets but I guess Americans are just not interested in movies from Asian culturesNo Alita is getting overshadowed for not being great! Most people seem to say that's it's an average movie, with great special effects and that if you were into the source material then you'll like it more than most people.
Can’t wait for this movie to do super well at the box office
I’m vaguely interested even though I know nothing of he character
But to see all the salt and tears from manbabies upset about marvel going “full sjw”
Going to be glorious
Just checked my local cinemas this weekend. From Friday onward, all they are showing is Cap Mavel.
UK.
Was going to see Alita again....
Guess not
I guessing this is getting more showings than SW Force awakens?

"yay can't wait for this giant company to make more money, that'll really teach them"
it's amazing how sold the fuck out people are these days
Have you seen Alita? I would absolutely call it a great movie, especially if marvel movies are the standard of quality we are measuring against here. Talk about a low bar.No Alita is getting overshadowed for not being great! Most people seem to say that's it's an average movie, with great special effects and that if you were into the source material then you'll like it more than most people.
To be fair to them, for some people it is clearly working.people need to realize 100% of mankind will not agree on a piece of media. it will never happen. but what will culture critics write about? the movie isn't even out yet so they can't write about the actual film. their job is pimping products from the same 2-3 giant corporations, so consumer shaming is the next best thing. don't even need to write about the actual text itself. it's all armchair sociology to justify their lame personal career choice of writing about why other people don't want to see a movie.
clickbait bloggers and gatekeepers are people hired to write opinions all day long. they write opinions. by definition throwing tantrums is their job. the movie is not even out yet and they are defending it bc their writing requires no critical thought, it is about justifying opinions. the fact that they continually seek out the most toxic MRA people and then amplify them to make it seem like something more is the only reason they still have a job. without a scary strawman they would actually have to think critically about the stuff they shill.
it's why they are working for a 21st century Entertainment Weekly knockoff rather than teaching film (or making their own)
Do your cinemas update on a specific day?
How many screens does your theatre have? If it has 6-10 screen but Captain Marvel is only available on 2-3 of them, chances are your cinemas update on a specific day of the week.
In Australia they update every Wednesday. In the Philippines it's fucking daily at some cinemas, weekly on Wednesday at others.
I reaaaaaaaaaally wish Brie Larson wasn't in Kong: Skull Island.
Kong: Skull Island is otherwise one of my favorite movies in recent years (if you haven't seen it it's way underrated) and at the time when I first saw it I knew nothing about her, but it's gonna be hard to go back and watch it now with her in it.
To be fair, it's not like she did a bad job in the movie or anything, but knowing how she is now it's gonna put a damper on that movie, I wish it was any other actress.

So you folks won't even see Endgame because she is in it?
Any other actress??
Asia Argento?
Ellen Page?
