for the record, I'm the one who posted that. i opted to go with a post i knew would get me banned because the moderators at ResetERA have a habit of ignoring complaints about racism, sexism, ableism, and so on. they have very narrow interpretations of what constitutes a violation of their own rules and, with one exception, the mods are generally unhelpful when it comes to warning and banning members.
now the conversation there has turned into "well, the only people complaining are nazis and conservatives" etc. etc. makes me feel even better about ducking out. my job is literally working with anti-racist organizations and helping them publish work in small communities.
i'm not sure i'll stick around here either, but noticed someone had quoted me and wanted to clear the air a tad if possible. i figure most forums have a ton of problems, but resetera pretends it's better than the rest. my experience doesn't exactly line up with that, at least not where the mods are concerned.

Yeah, I literally never heard of this guy before this. But from what little I can tell, he ended up posting porn on his highly successful 700,000 k subscriber Smash Bros channel and got his channel nuked right before Ultimate came out. In the video he talks about being edgy and ruining his life. He lost a lot of financial income.
I am positive I'm missing tons to this story though. He specifically kept citing social media as "consuming him," like it actually physically hurt him. Must have been some toxic shit.

Reee can not accept this notion, and Ree sees no distinction and the same with many who drink the same kool aid. There are words that are stupid moments and gone like a fart in the wind and there are words supported by actions and intent. This is the concept that is ignored and outlawed there because once the sheep start remembering this, remembering that every one of their fuck witted impotent selves have said stupid shit in the heat of a moment and done stupid shit then the big glass tower comes raining down.
It used to be enough to just call someone out for being stupid and then move on, but that is not nearly enough anymore. Make them lose their jobs, make them lose their friends, family and yes in this case their life. Erase them because when they see people as just people who can make mistakes they are forced to remember the secrets in their own closets.
Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me. Was a tenant of childhood. These days I imagine it is considered to be dismissive of other children's feelings or something like that.
