Mobile Suit Gooch
Grundle: The Awakening
Worst kept secret of the year.
Are they stupid?
I wanted one but removing the TV capability is a no go. I am sure it still has the USB-C connector so maybe modders can reanable it but sorry. This is just stupid . . . in my opinion. I know they are after the kids but don't remove the best feature!
This thing launched solely for reaching that multiple switches at home" goal, and I assume the original Switch probably gonna have some price cut too. Need to know all the specs especially battery life. A good gift for kids for this holiday imo.
so same performance smaller screen 5.5' with same 720p . and why screen is not larger size as that border around screen ? why that border even needed ?
I’m fine with the current model and don’t know that I’ll even upgrade to a Pro if one comes out. Other than some slowdown in Zelda I haven’t hit many frame rate issues and I don’t really care about resolution as I’m only using it for Nintendo games and indies and I’m not playing those for the graphics. New 3DS was a worthless upgrade for me and I figure a Pro Switch to be a similar minke upgrade.
Battery is probably the exact same and it just lasts longer from cutting down on screen size and some internal bits here and there (like not having an extra interface between the joycons and the system, though joycons also had their own batteries so I dunno.
Underpowered, its the same as switch that can run current gen games. Never happened before... Lame answerI heard you liked being uncomfortable and having an underpowered system so we gave you this!
cue to shitty music
I hope they fixed the joycon's dead center issues.
Seems like it solves pretty much all the problems I had with the original design. I have zero interest in hooking it up to a TV, so I don't mind that omission. It'd make a perfect portable emulation device too... I guess we'll have to see if that's possible.
Except it isn't. It is gonna run undocked so you'll only have "portable" power.Underpowered, its the same as switch that can run current gen games. Never happened before... Lame answer
They had a lot to show at E3, what are you smoking?
Well, yeah. They've been stupid for years. They fall ass backward into success with the original Wii. They were incredibly lucky that it became a fad and then were too incompetent to support it properly, snatching defeat from the jaws of success.
Motherfucker .. I just bought a switch yesterday
Solely to play Pokekon
So you dont know the rumors. They made this handheld for on the go with a cheap price like 2ds. Switch pro will follow and it will have more power, better screen and can be connected on tv....Are they stupid? I wanted one but removing the TV capability is a no go. Just wait on the pro version if thats what your looking for. It will probably support 4k. But it will come next year.Except it isn't. It is gonna run undocked so you'll only have "portable" power.
I don't understand all the negativity around this... If you wanted the docked mode then obviously get the OG model. If you mostly play handheld or want a second handheld only switch at a very good price point then switch lite is for you. Eventually there will probably be a switch+ or pro or something. Nintendo with naming again tho, I kinda wish they hadn't named this switch lite. It may confuse non-gamer purchasers.
Except it isn't. It is gonna run undocked so you'll only have "portable" power.
I don't understand the complaints about the lack of TV connectivity.
If you want that, then just buy the regular Switch...? It's like complaining that the 2DS isn't 3D.
ohh look now it will fit in bag , because before it didint
Smaller screen size and the joycons not needing to be powered is the reason it gets the extra hour. I mentioned the undocked "power" for a reason. It isn't even about how blurry things look but how games run worse on docked mode. XC2 and Caligula Effect comes to mind. Or how since you can't change the joycons they would have given us pro controller-like handles cause hand cramps. For portable only that seems good enough, specially since they are saying it has an additional hour of battery life.
And to be fair, the Switch's lack of power is often way more noticeable in docked mode anyway. Due to the small size and resolution of the screen even some of the more demanding games tend to look at least ok in portable mode, but when you blow it up to a 55" 4K TV the blurriness and lack of detail become 10X more noticeable even with the marginal upgrades from docked mode
What a rip off. $200 should be the price for the normal unit. A gimped one should be $149.
I’m not sure what the point or appeal of this is.

Sure it would be nice, but if it was exactly the same as the regular Switch but just a bit smaller, then there wouldn't be much point in making the device.Having both would've been nice. I like the smaller form factor, but at the cost of having no TV out? No thanks.
Resident Evil 5 and 6 are coming to Switch later this year. Now if only they'd announce a new Resident Evil with co-op for the system so I can easily justify to my wife why we need a second one...

Anymore info on this?
We have a winner. It will probably sell well to more casual players, kids, people that for a number of reasons only care about the portable aspect of the Switch and it will probably do really well in places like Japan where handheld/mobile is king
Oh just realized no Dock = no Lan adapter = horribly laggy and borderline unplayable smash for some people.
A tiny console with no display at like $89.99 would be a really interesting product. It'd be so cheap that it'd be easy to justify just to fuck around with even if you really didn't care about the platform. $200 is already into "investment" territory. It's too expensive for a casual purchase.
We have a winner.

No. Going by the Eevee bundle I'm guessing it releases on the same week. Tempting if the newest PKMN wasn't crap.Anymore info on this?
Until people come to see how games run while portability anyway. If Nintendo is smart they would let you play "boost" mode when it is connected to an outlet to make up for this but they never listen to fan feedback. We have a winner.

Maybe they'll drop to those prices when the Switch Pro comes out. What a rip off. $200 should be the price for the normal unit. A gimped one should be $149.
In Japan still alive I'm afraid. Maybe now Nintendo can put an end on this. The 3DS is pretty much dead at the moment. Thing came out in 2011. Time to put it out to death.
They aren't making games for it anymore. It is pretty much on life support. Hopefully I can buy a third one for backup once the lite comes out for 50 bucks. In Japan still alive I'm afraid. Maybe now Nintendo can put an end on this.
Thats not mean he is 'dead'. 3DS still have a huge catalogue and if I remember right Atlus still release some games recently. They aren't making games for it anymore.
Internally, the Switch Lite is largely the same as its older counterpart, with 32GB of storage space and a MicroSD card slot to add more capacity. However, it uses a more efficient processor, according to Nintendo. This, in turn, means its battery life is roughly 20%-30% better. The heat vents at the top of the hardware are also smaller, which enables the overall reduction in the hardware's size.
It kinda makes sense. We know the regular Switch isn't as powerful in handheld mode - so perhaps the Switch Lite hardware is matched exactly to the handheld mode requirements, rather than needing to be able to reach the docked clock speeds - making it cheaper to produce? (it's cheaper to buy, so this would make sense...)
Smaller screen = $10 cheaper. Uses smaller backlight so there's your extended battery life right thereso same performance smaller screen 5.5' with same 720p . and why screen is not larger size as that border around screen ? why that border even needed ?
Yep.That stupid bezel thing they have around the screen.
well smaller screen with same res makes picture better depends what kind of screen there is .
