Who are the funniest people in the world?

So I have been watching a lot of old comedy sketches, interviews and acts on YouTube. Got me thinking of who is actually the funniest person (in your mind)? Not just stand up acts where they are rehearsed and written out and 'preformed'. But genuinely funny as a person. I have come up with my top two...

#1 Norm MacDonald
His late night interviews are simply amazing. He is such a story teller and has such great timing, it's a sheer pleasure just to listen to him speak. Just a naturally funny guy.

#2 Bill Burr
His flow. His anger. So damn funny. Just him yelling and being pissed off at any little thing is great. Seems he just has an infinite memory of funny stories.

Who do you think is the funniest person? Like naturally funny not just one great act.

I think Bob Mortimer is legitimately the funniest man alive, but I reckon you might have to be British to get why.

A bit more mainstream choice i suppose but 90's Jim Carrey will always be the funniest one for me.

There is also an actor in my country (Greece - Giannis Mpezos) who also comes pretty close (again, with his 90's roles).

The Legion of Skanks make me laugh more than any other current comedians - I realize their individual material is not really the best of the best, but their rapport with each other on their podcast is incredible and every show will make me laugh in some way, which is honestly pretty hard these days.

Carlin or Patrice O'neal, yes I'm aware both are dead.

Bill Burr
Dave Chappelle
Paul Mooney
George Carlin
Eddie Murphy

I haven't kept up with many recent acts.

Robin Williams gets a mention as well. He just seemed like such a funny dude in interviews.

Thinks mods influence posters politics. Promoted to QAnon Editor.
A name I would have never ever guessed would show up in this thread, Norm MacDonald. I wouldn't put him in a top 500 list, the only thing funny he ever did was Burt Reynolds.

I mean he is a blessed comedian. Did you watch any videos in the OP? Watch one and tell me he isn't funny... Shit even when he gets booed its funnier than most comedians.

Ed O'Neill as Al Bundy.

Aside from that act, I don't find most comedians funny at all since it's so forced and scripted.

Stand up comedians are the worst. I've seen my share on telecasts and dirty late night ones in Vegas. Sometimes funny, but more from the use of dirty words and racist jokes. Get rid of the dirt and the act is more like the 8 pm show which is clean and unfunny.

Most funny people to me are ones who naturally are funny. No acts, memorized jokes he's been telling for the 80th time the past 4 years or anything like that.

Or any of that canned BS..... "Hey guys, my mother in law came over on the weekend and.......". No. She didn't come over on the weekend. You've told that joke to every crowd for the past two years. And you wrote that joke and practiced it in front of a mirror for months.

Not funny.

Best funnies are hanging out with buddies. Nobody is a professional actor or writer, but have laughs with friends and it'll always be funnier than watching Friends.

Yeah that's what I was trying to say in the OP. Comics that can make up funny shit on the fly. That's why I like the interviews, they are 'less' scripted that a standup act.

Ya.

Norm is a naturally funny guy. He's always got that weasaly way of smiling where anything he says can be funny. He can be talking about filling out tax forms and he'll make it funny.

Back in the 90s when the local TV guide (we had one called Starweek) said Howard Stern would be on a late night show like David Letterman, my siblings and I would wait up and watch. We didn't even get his radiocasts in our area, but saw enough clips of him on TV shows and talkshows to know when he spoke, it was something loud and funny.

I wish you guys could understand brazilian portuguese so I could recommend some brazilian comedians. They are not the PC kind.

But for now I'll stick to George Carlin and Chris Farley.
