Earlier in this thread there was a user who created a thread on Era where he did a social Experiment where he claimed that his entire family was conservatives and were taking care of him because he wasn’t doing too hot financially but was conflicted because they were conservatives.
Era did Era where they told him to ditch his family or just to use them for their money and all that dumb Era shit.
I’m not going back to Era to find that shit. It happened and I found about it threw this thread.

To answer your question, I don’t know the answer. I honestly didn’t pay any of it any mind besides the posts made in this thread and even then I didn’t care. My memory was jogged about it in the reply you originally quoted.
I’m only going to search up to 100 pages for that thread. After that and for my personal sanity I’m not going to look for the thread anymore.

I remember it happening after Etika’s death so I started at that point and I’m page 310. If I don’t find a link to the thread I was talking about feel free to write me off as some hack making claims.
Also, Kokonoe was posting on Gaf before his ban just a short while ago. He was in pages 305 and 306 where some users even asked him about the Etika stuff you brought up and he gave his answer and the Gaf users accepted it and continue talking with him normally. He was probably caught off guard when you brought up the Etika stuff again.

I'm kind of at a breaking point, Era. My family (extended family too) are all conservative Trump supporters. I think I have a second cousin that is pretty progressive. She lives in LA though which isn't close to me at all. The thing is, they are all super nice and supportive of my political...www.resetera.com

and the OP for that thread and his reasoning for creating it.I made that post, not to troll era, but to see what kind of mentally ill cult-like responses I would get. I set it up in a way where "OP" had a great supportive family with a sibling that loved him and parents that included and financially supported him. I also tossed in the extended family as well. "OP" didn't even have that one obnoxious uncle that makes fun of the liberal. His entire family was loving and supportive. The only "issue" is that they are Trump supporters.
My point was to see how absolutely deranged people on those forums are. As we saw, multiple posters recommend "OP" completely cut off ties from his loving and supportive family solely because they had different political views. Clown world indeed.

That’s a fair take. In my defense, I barely remember that era thread, it’s context, and it’s OP reasoning for it not to mention that I didn’t care about any of it as it was happening. So when I brought it up, all I remembered was that it happened and the OP posted in this thread.

GAF is a collection of users. If Evilore or the mods aren't behind it, I wouldn't hold GAF responsible, just the individual user. Just like I wouldn't hold era responsible for certain things, but do hold them responsible for how the admins react to things and the culture the admins foster

I sent a message to a subbreddit mod asking why thread was deleted without any reason or excuse and after a while it gets restored without any answer from mods. Apparently mods think they can do whatever they want, betting on the fact that few users will react and will just not dare to complain further for fear of a ban.
If it wasn't restored, I wouldn't have bothered anyway since it would not be worth it and I'd appear as the problematic guy
