What if I lived in an island without internet and somehow had a PS4 and bought a copy for my son as Christmas gift?
As always. Yikes.Lol, defenders for this bullshit. LMAO!
Exactly this, why are people acting like its out of order to make the game unplayable before release? its a good thing. The game SHOULD NOT be available before release, so it is completely acceptable. I wish they will do this with more games.
Whats not acceptable? In my opinion this isn't acceptable at all.
Yes. Not because you paid whatever money means you get to play it before the official release dateThe game you purchased for 70€ is currently unavailable please hold the line.
Then the game is completely dysfunctional when the online service shuts down, unless you already downloaded the patch before. I think this is completely unacceptable. Just start the online game service the day the game launches, then no one has an advantage in the online mode, but who is getting hurt by someone playing the singleplayer early? This is so petty...
Xbox Live / PSN need not go down for access from old consoles to be denied. Xbox Live still exists, but good luck connecting with an original Xbox. Also, should either company ever decide to pull out of the console business, watch the online service be shut down immediately.PSN and Xbox Live will probably never go down, so you are always able to get the patch.
Yeah, PC is a great choice if you care about your rights - what with Steam activation and intrusive DRM measures...Alternative get it on PC,
Start supporting stores like GOG.com and that will change.Yeah, PC is a great choice if you care about your rights - what with St
I exclusively buy retail games that are fully playable always offline and if I were to use PC, I surely would buy only DRM free software.Start supporting stores like GOG.com and that will change.

R.I.P physical media. In my opinion this isn't acceptable at all.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Early Copies Already Out Into the Wild, Patch Required to Get Past Main Title Screen
Modern Warfare early copies are already in the hands of lucky people! Patch required to get past the title screen.mp1st.com
you would have invented a time machineSo..what happens if I buy a used launch copy of the game a year from now and take it back to my non-internet having house and try to play it? I think know the answer but I need someone to tell it to me.
If people can't afford internet, you shouldn't be wasting money on video games. Get a fucking job and stop being a whiney bitch.
Don't @ me, I simply don't give a fuck.
They cannot do anything about me playing my consoles always offline.I'm one of those sad people that read console TOS.
Everything is temporary and you own nothing. We just have to accept it.
The scariest one is in Sony's, where it tells you that your account will probably be nuked if you don't use it for over 24 months......
What is it that you and some others can't understand about the problem with this? I and a lot of other people still buy physical games to be able to preserve it and play it anytime we want without depending on online availability. Is this faux rage? I legit don't understand what people are upset about. Retailers have been breaking street dates for a number of years, this seems like a good way to combat that. It's why release dates exist.
All in all it makes the most sense with COD, especially with how popular the online component is.
Correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't there another title (or a few) people raged about because they didn't turn servers on until the actual release date? Lol. Is this entitlement?
It being a "problem" alone is subjective, at least in this particular instance. What is it that you and some others can't understand about the problem with this? I and a lot of other people still buy physical games to be able to preserve it and play it anytime we want without depending on online availability.

No, my point was clear. It doesn’t matter if you purchased the game retail or online, you aren’t allowed to play it before the official release date just because you bought it.Could you help me understand here?
Are we talking about people who purchased the game in stores (retail or online)? This means that the game will never be playable without a patch, even after the official release date, is this right?
Your line of thinking would be acceptable if the content of discs sold after the official date would already have the patch on them.
As a "normal" customer, if I find the I want game at the shop, I buy it. I don't stop and think "no, this is not the official date the marketing team set for me". If anything, stocking and selling it's the store's problem, not mine. Why am I the one being punished? After, and this is the best part, I paid for it in full?
(disclaimer: i don't have the game. It's just to discuss.)
No, my point was clear. It doesn’t matter if you purchased the game retail or online, you aren’t allowed to play it before the official release date just because you bought it.
Oh please don’t do this you’ll hurt the game sales! They are lucky that I have this game ordered with another one together so I won't cancel it because it would be too much of a hassle but next time I will buy their game used. Fuck this bullshit. Though I should have known better, they already did this with WWII...
However, physical copies have got into the hands of fans and the game is apparently fully playable. Which means if you want to be spoiler free for the story campaign you better watch yourself. The same thing happened with Call Of Duty: WWII in 2017 but with that game people couldn’t get round the need for a day one patch, this time though all you have to do is disable the Internet before you start playing.
At least your corporate masters can be proud of you.Oh please don’t do this you’ll hurt the game sales!
Isn't this normal? The day 1 patch is not out yet.
Corporate masters better than kids crying over everything and they keep on increasing every year. I was joking with you but it seems you get butthurt over anything so I’m taking that backAt least your corporate masters can be proud of you.
And to be clear, because there are still people that don't understand the issue... I don't care about the multiplayer and I can fully understand that they don't want people to play that early, but the campaign should be playable anytime I want even if I am in a farm with no internet.
As I said later, I honestly forgot there was a SP campaign this time. That portion should be playable offline, no doubt. This is how completely the industry has conditioned us.
Yeah, I suppose it is "normal."
Edit: Hope Sub_Level 's link is correct.
No, my point was clear. It doesn’t matter if you purchased the game retail or online, you aren’t allowed to play it before the official release date just because you bought it.
Yes we won’t think like that but the people that made the game got the right to do so. I played lots of leaked games in my life and never complained about the ones that didn’t work before the release date. Not our problem sure and at the same time they have the right to not make the game playable before the release date.
As I said later, I honestly forgot there was a SP campaign this time.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare has leaked and people are already playing it
If you don’t want to be spoiled about Modern Warfare’s story campaign you better be careful where you go on the Internet this week.metro.co.uk
If this turns out to be true I am going to bump this thread so hard. Names will be named. Repent.
