I (and thousands of other players) will greatly enjoy the contributions to the PC version from the modding community.

One does not simply switch engine to port to PC, outside of crazy outliers like Nightdive Studios' KEX engine titles.

Chances are Decima already works fine on the platform, though I do know the HZD dev pipeline involved having the engine open on PC and streaming assets and changes directly to the game running on a PS4 devkit.

I am happy with Decima. Somehow UE3 left a bad taste in me even though UE4 is a different beast.

Therefore, the value of each platform to that individual is partly decided by the other platforms that individual owns. If that individual does not own an expensive gaming PC, the value of the PS4 platform to that person is exactly the same, whether or not PS4 exclusives get ported to PC. PS4 as a platform only devalues if someone owns a PC.

I don't even have the Epic Games Store installed, and have never (to this point) bought anything from it. I just like to point out and scoff at irrational bullshit from time to time. And the "launcher warring" that goes on in all these topics fits that bill (though it's less true back and forth 'warring' and more just Steam zealots fallout out of their chairs in dismay about Valve having any form of competition of any kind).

Looking at it at the level is very short sighted. This is about mass consumption. Video gaming is a multi billion dollar industry. If I can get X game on Y platform that was on Z platform, what is the point in owning Z platform?

Supposedly you connect people and places. The more I see of it the more I think of Death Stranding as yet another dime a dozen action-adventure game with shooting elements and a half-assed story that won't make any sense. It looks kinda pretty though.

Hell, if it weren't for Kojima being attached to it like a malignant blob and the somewhat-good graphics, this absolutely looks like a game that could've been stealthed on Steam and accumulate about a thousand sales and 12 reviews that rate it mediocre after a year or so.

In all seriousness though, Sony should make a PC launcher. This would secure a piece of the PC software market and secure millions of new and old fans. Not a streaming service either. PS Now is utter shit. Just make a launcher and test it with a few games at first. Games like The Last of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted Trilogy, Bloodborne would sell millions more.

I will never install epic, origin, uplay or battle.net launchers (really, I've still resisted it and if needed bought those games on console) Gog, steam and xbox for windows gamepass is the only thing I accept.
But I would take sony exclusives launcher.

only financial wise. Rockstar does a good job of keeping it unknown and then release the news a year later so people double dip. Kojima does it in advance so people can make a choice.
