I had no intention of getting it on release but looks like I'm getting it even later than I expected since I'll just grab it when it gets a discount on PC. Frankly the game doesn't seem that interesting to me so I'm in no hurry to get it. Then again I thought that about Days Gone too and I actually ended up getting the plat for that cause I loved it.

I am confused why this narrative is going around? I am see it all over the internet.
I am glad it is getting released on PC and I will grab it but Kojima is totally overrated and I haven't enjoyed a game from him since MGS on PS1. Releasing this on PC doesn't change my thoughts that he is a clown =)

I can appreciate them announcing this before the PS4 release; it would undoubtedly have sold a few consoles more. Either way, it's probably not enough consoles for Sony to care about at this point in the generation, getting extra game sales is a good idea and I'm sure Kojima made this deal with Sony from the start.

Maybe Sony doesn't care, since they've already sold 100m PS4 consoles. Then again, I imagine they had signed the deal back in 2015 (there were some whispers about a PC port).

Squashed all PC talk until very near PS4 version released. They should have announced this after it dropped on PS4, imo. Also, Sony should have stepped up and published this. I fucking do not like 505 games.

Also i dont want a a noisy 4ft tower in my living room. The xbox one x is quieter than any pc, cheaper, smaller, more reliable ... also runs bittorent, vlc and an airplay receiver.
People who say that everyone will buy a PC are simply delusional. Xbox people have always had a PC as well and thats never phased them ..its playstation users that usually dont have a gaming PC. Sony is far more worried about XBoX than PC which is why they release “exclusives” to PC and not Xbox.
Microsoft is focused on customer engagement not console sales .. which is why they release games on all platforms. Sony knows this is the end game and so tried to gimp Minecraft and cross platform play because it knows as all the platforms merge they will be the smallest player. Fyi thats Android > ios > Microsoft pc and xbox > Sony

They are doing everything right: Releasing a new AAA IP (instead of a sequel), lifting review embargo 1 full week before it releases, sharing info through interviews, shown gameplay and now announcing the PC port so people can decide to get it or wait... Still people is displeased? There is no way to keep the gaming community happy.

Think Kojima is overrated? Wait until the game releases and get your info from whatever source you find trustworthy. Then decide if you want to play or not.
Think the concept is trash? Don't worry, your favorite genre wasn't killed so this could exist. Go play what you like.
Don't have a PS4? Wait until PC release.
Don't like 505 Games and/or Epic? Play on PS4 or wait until it releases on Steam. You shouldn't but you could even pirate it.
Don't have a PC? Play it on PS4.
Don't have trillions for a powerful PC? Play it on PS4
Love Kojima and/or the concept? Now you can double dip!
Hate celebrities? Wait for the PC port and swap the face for Nathan Drake's or just a random character.
There is absolutely no downside. It' all about having options to enjoy the medium however we like. They announced a PC release when they announced the game and then stopped talking about it. It doesn't mean they are trying to save a failing project. Even if they were, what's the problem with a company seeking profitability? It only helps keep getting more games from them in the future.
PS4 is a good platform even without DS. It will be fine after this is released.
If anything, this will do wonders to compare current gen and next gen to PC and finally be over with all that secret sauce and custom architecture stupidity.

I am 30 and I've ALWAYS(ok since I was 7) had a pc... so I grew up on duke, quake and so on. Changed pc many times and even got 2070 and 3700x this year... and the pc market is more targeted towards enthusiasts than ever before. I think it's more expensive, more troublesome and generally less rewarding to build a 2k usd pc. Sure I can run 4k games and so on... but 200-500 console can do similarly. Of course I am biased and I must have a gaming pc but in general I would not advise anyone who wants to play video games to get a pc. It's just for enthusiasts who know what they want and dont care spending more for gpu than console itself. Sure we will have rdr2 on pc... oh I've finished it year ago and it looked amazing. I just wish we had Bloodborne on pc. This one I am really craving 4k60

Just remember folks: your beloved Death Stranding will still be coming to PS4. The only change now is that the game is gonna release to PC too. No need for any fanboyism meltdown. The game is not going to suck just because it got a PC port only unless the game is hot garbage though so people will experience the same hot garbage for both platforms.

Im sorry but why is this a surprise? I remember pretty well that Kojima himself announced that his "next game would be released on PC after PS4" way back in 2015, this is when they showed the helmet logo and their partnership with Guerrilla.
What I would sat is completely impossible is Death Stranding on Xbox or Switch unless that Sony somehow has a new politic of third party releases, because they are funding, publishing and even lending the game engine in this one.
It would be great news for everyone if this were multiplat anyway, this kind of games are 1 in a century.

Now that we have multiple storefronts on PC, it just means we have gotten stupider. Now we have console wars on the same hardware.
