Back in the days I remember plugging in a game cartridge or disk and sit down to play and even as a 5 year old kid I could relate to the games I played, I knew horses could run fast and women were pretty and men were strong and guns kill and falling on lava is game over.

But nowadays besides the beautiful graphics you would think things would get better but instead we got worse you plug in a game you sit down and start learning politics, I don't know anybody I grew up with or played games with who ever asked for such politics not anybody I've ever known. It's being forced in my throat it's "FASCISM"

you could nail girls on the harem in god of war on the ps2 and somehow gaming sites and media complained about it, somehow they called it toxic masculinity, basically being a boy and doing boyish things is now toxic and bad, even days gone was hated for somehow having a straight male and kissing his girlfriend,
And somehow last of us 2 was praised for having a lesbian protagonist kissing her girlfriend I have a feeling it'll be even more praised if they include a lesbian sex scene in it.

In conclusion I can't help but feel that there is a big animosity and hate on men around maybe they hate us because we're too good too strong tall and we have balls, but we're born this way and try as you might this is how we come and if any developer is reading this, we are tired of your sjw agenda we need art back we need our games back stop invading our "MAN CAVE" we never invaded your make up room!

Correction: Western gaming seems to dabble in identity politics, and even then, it revolves around AAA and not indie or mid-tier releases. There are still Western or even European developers who don't care about this stuff and even fight back, like Kingdom Come Deliverance.

Kinda off topic but not really, but in Sweden if you want to pitch a TV idea for the state media TV channel, you're literally denied if there's not enough representation by different ethnicities, religions, gender orientation etc. It's all gotta be there or it's a no.

Oh good, I'm not alone . I usually head-scratch during these threads, not because I disagree, but often because I have no idea what people are so mad about.

The only one recently that sorta made sense was the Days Gone controversy because it was weird for a few high-profile(?) critics to get offended at a throwaway line. Kingdom Come: Deliverance too, although I didn't play it so can't offer much perspective. Things like the girl being ugly in Control just doesn't bother me in the same way. (She is ugly but I wasn't bothered by it).

True, but I just think these things correct themselves eventually. I mostly buy Japanese games with the occasional European/American Indie game that is more cartoonish or stylised and ignore Ubi/Acti/EA stuff like the plague....and more recently Sony's Western output (although I am not much of a fan of Studio Japan's recent stuff either).

If they start doing stupid stuff I simply ignore those games too....got so much to play anyway.

That's my issues as well, they don't feel like "Games" to me, but interactive movies that go on for too long. If I want that experience, I will buy or rent a film and watch it for 2 hours as they hold no other value once I have watched them.

I don't personally feel that Sony makes Characters people will love, but more to fit a template from other movies/films or mythology. I don't mind Nathan Drake but he's pretty much Indiana Jones/Lara Croft (and the latter is an icon!!!), and Kratos is based on Greek Mythology and follows that template quite closely.

Joel/Ellie feel like they are based on Walking Dead characters and that sadly just doesn't appeal to me.

The stories are okay, but like you say, the presentation feels like movies and not games. Give me Crash/Spyro/Sonic any day of the week!
