Actually you ask for PS5, Play 5, etc...
And you can ask for "Xbox Series X" and get the right one.

Nope... that happens more than you think.Unbelievable...
Xbox, Xbox One, Xbox. We've gone full circle.
Did you ask for one or just grab one? lol
Did you guy ever do shopping without be at internet?
Nope... that happens more than you think.
All the time at retail... you ask for a name and the guy gives you a old model lolWhen has it ever happened?

Are you dumb on purpose?I ask again. When has someone asked for an Xbox Series X and gotten an Xbox One X?
Are you dumb on purpose?
We are discussing how the name will affect the consumers and retail after it launch next year and how the retail tries to sell you the old model first.
That happens all the time in retail.
If you specifically ask for an "Xbox Series X" and are sold a "Xbox One X" then the issue is NOT the naming structure of the console. The issue is incompetence of the consumer and deceptive business practices of the seller. And get a Xbox One X
That is the whole discussion.
Dont forgot Xbox, the original one(not xbox one)
There can be only one!
I'm trying to understand your logic. We're talking about someone going into a shop, asking for an "Xbox Series X", where you claim the store will sell them the "Xbox One X". If a store deliberately finds an old model and tries to sell it to you, despite it being named differently, there's no difference whether it's called Xbox Series X, PS5, LOLCONSOLE or whatever.
It doesn't make sense.
And people keeping buying Wii after ask Wii U...If you specifically ask for an "Xbox Series X" and are sold a "Xbox One X" then the issue is NOT the naming structure of the console. The issue is incompetence of the consumer and deceptive business practices of the seller.
I dont recall a lot of negitivity with Nintendos naming structures of all the 3ds (where kids are a primary target), or any of the other numerous "confusing" names of products (hello PC components).
It's the damn consumers job to make sure they buy what they actually want to buy.
And people keeping buying Wii after ask Wii U...
That looks like nonsense?
Yeap that happened. Are you saying that people walk into a store, ask for the "Wii U" and comes home with a Wii? How often do you think that has happened?
I think you're severely underestemating peoples mental capabilities. Chances are, that most people will walk into Walmart and ask a clerk to help find the "new xbox".
Yeap that happened.
Even more thought Wii U was the same as Wii and so didn't buy it because they already have the Wii.
That affect band power and sales... yes. You're gonna have to present numbers. Do you think this will have any meaningful impact, whatsoever, on sales?
That affect band power and sales... yes.
Already happened with Wii U and Nintendo shares their sales.
But hey... Wii to Wii U was bad but Xbox One X to Xbox Series X is good... lol
I don't know.Sorry to keep meddling around in this. Let's say it was called XBOX ULTRA DELUXE 5 instead (or something else completely different). How much impact do you think that would have on the sales, versus the current name?
Wasn't one of them introduced as "New iPad"? That isn't naturally a very future-proof name.
But do you remember that dev some years ago about Wii U name?
Do you feel Nintendo deserves the mess they are in (Wii U, and partially, 3DS) ? do you think they "are" in a mess? | ask.fmhttps://ask.fm/dan_adelman
Wii U is not selling as well as it deserves to. It has a lot to offer with great games you can't get anywhere else. The value of the GamePad hasn't been just...ask.fm
Nobody in this thread is confused about the name. The only people confused are in this thread.
Amen. Concern trolling imoThe only people confused are in this thread.
It’s funny to see people so defensive about this. “Xbox One X” versus “Xbox series X” is confusing. That seems pretty obvious.
Actually it is an add-on to DS4... so if you tried to buy a Dual Shock 4 you will get a Dual Shock 4.The DualShock 4 Back Button Attachment has just been announced by Sony. Who knows what people will come home with from these very confusing shops?
A DualShock 1? A back scratcher? An attachment for a vacuum cleaner? It's chaos!
But Lockhart is also an "Xbox”.
Microsoft really messed up with the names when it comes to Xbox.
Both new iPhones and Galaxys are numeric ordered... S5.S6...S10.S11... iPhone 5.5S.6.6S....10.10S.11.People in this thread have pointed out it's the exact same way companies name cellphones. You don't see concern trolling when Apple names the new iPhone or Samsung names the new Galaxies.

If you try to buy a Back Button add-on you will get a Back Button add-on.
Being off topic about the Back Button add-on it is useless... I mean there is no use for that shit.

Yes, the word "one" sounds exactly like "series" so it's an easy mistake to make

X = 10iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR...
Do you work in Microsoft marketing? You are way too invested in this.
Obviously they're different words. No one disputes that. What's disputed is whether the distinction is clear.
Take your flimsy strawmen somewhere else.
