Kotaku Sources: Horizon Zero Dawn coming to PC

Still a rumor but I’m very hyped. While Most Sony first parties titles excels as technical side like graphics and animations, nearly all of them need a strong modding scene to enhance their playabilities, I simply won’t play many of their games without a PC version with all the customization options. Especially for naughty dog, quantified dream games plus death stranding and days gone. Same goes for horizon too.

I'd buy it again on PC. Man, a future in which consoles are just fixed-spec boxes with curated experiences and stores, but all games are available on PC sure is one I can get behind. It will probably mean I don't buy anything other than Nintendo console hardware again, though.

Well, if confirmed that's it. I'm going with PC next gen.

Exclusives are the one thing still holding my interest in consoles, I'm definitely not there for the closed system, lack of upgrade possibilities, more expensive games and paid multiplayer.
If even sony starts to release their first party stuff on PC now (even if it's years later) I no longer see the appeal

I'm not a fan of Playstation games going to PC, how many times have we seen this? Feels like exclusives losing their value.

We've been getting PC games for a while now on consoles but the other way around not so much, not seeing the problem here.

No, PCs get everything consoles get, except for Nintendo and (some) Sony titles. Consoles used to get hundreds of exclusive titles over their life, now maybe a couple dozen.

I personally don't buy third party games on console anymore, just because it's locking it to hardware that won't exist and to where future support is totally up to the hardware maker. Whereas I can play PC games I bought in the PS2 era with little trouble.

Seriously people, the PC - it's not so bad.

Nintendo Emulation on PC is Strong though

I can see what you're saying for mobility but Switch clones are coming for PC.

You know what, I actually am at the point where I say do it. Then I am gonna save up some money, get a beefy pc and play all of microsofts and sonys games on it that run better together with all the pc exclusives too. Nintendo obviously won't jump over anytime soon.
For the consumer it's going to be better if they just don't wanna buy multiple platforms

Although I have a beefy PC, I still game more on my consoles. Would love to take advantage of it sooner than later

Consoles will still do great with exclusives or not. Don't see them ever dying

Nintendo? Don't need to talk about them honestly since they're always in their own planet

So 3 years after release.... well if TLU2 (for example) takes 3 years to get released on PC... eh... it won't change a lot of things.

But.... if Uncharted 5 or something get's a simultaneous release on PS5 and PC.... There will be no reasons to own a playstation. My wallet will be pleased... my mind will be confused and my heart will be sad.... because I will not buy consoles anymore.

The idea of exclusives is becoming a bad business model. You don't make money on hardware nearly to the capacity you make money on software.

And the Sony/MS consoles are basically just fixed-spec PCs without anything special to them, so it's not like you're compromising your development vision by also putting your game out on PC.

Nintendo Emulation on PC is Strong though

Switch is a portable system to me, but I wasn't aware that emulation was already working well for it. I'll have to look into it!

All this negativity and the simple truth is that theres no loser, this is a win-win

I think you could make the argument that not focusing on a single spec entirely could increase the devs work load, but if you are able to get more consumers paying for your product, the time and money it would take would be more than worth it.

Well there it is. Looks like more and more of sonys games will just be timed console exclusives to sell systems and then come out on pc if this trend continues.
While I'd still play PS like I did with Xbox, I can see this pushing some people to PC

That's the best part if it assuming not in some streaming form, WWS can make great games, but often (as a graphics whore) their vision gets butchered because it was made for a fixed spec.
Here's hoping whatever Sony releases on PC isn't half baked and allows for all the bells and whistles (graphically and FPS of course).
