I can't get into the artstyle.

You'd think with next gen, developers would try and differentiate themselves more from current gen games. Otherwise, it looks exactly like that MOBA Epic Games released a few years ago. Paragon it was called.

Are you expecting a dramatic difference, because you're not going to get it at launch. This has almost never been the case for launch window games or even games within the first year of a console generation.
That's not true.

When Battlefield 4 launched on XBO/PS4, they supported double the players online compared to last gen.

With older consoles, the difference was even bigger.

I thought we were just talking graphically but sure I would agree with you otherwise.

But speaking pure graphically you should take a look at early 360 games and compare them to late PS2 games and ya.

As we go on the difference is going to appear less and less.

I knew it was reminding me of something. You are dead on, mate.

Looks like 20% better than current gen.

Nothing to write home about, at least for now.
What I care about the most is gameplay. So far we saw some pretty lights and sparks but I am getting Anthem vibes...the trailers will be great for sure and I am still somewhat optimistic about the game but I still need to see the "game" part of this game.

I also think it looks a bit like what Anthem USED to look like when they initially showed it.

Right on, I literally just wrote that in this post :D

I think the particle effects and lighting look like a clear bound over the 8th gen, also very clean IQ. But the world design does look just like current gen considerations, i.e a closed path for hard drive loading times. Waiting to see more.

That was the best looking MP game I've ever played, it was ahead of it's time in terms of graphics. But you're right.

These are the “next gen” console exclusives people so desperately want lol
I think we need some perspective lol

This is footage from early last year so there's still almost 2 years to improve

The game is 4K 60FPS

This isn't from a 1st party studio

Their studio is considered small by AAA production standards

The game looks great and this bodes well for next generation

have you not seen paragon or warframe? Its 100 possible to have this game on ps4.
It's not really shown in this video but this game has raytraced floors and other raytraced reflections and it's 4K 60FPS, you'd have to run it at 30FPS and lower the effects, you'd be right then

Not feeling it myself and I’m a fantasy junkie. It’s too sleek and modern. Either go low fantasy (medieval, gritty, grim), high fantasy (LoTR bold aesthetic, shining knights) or WoWesque fairytale fantasy. This feels like a mix of the 2nd and 3rd design trope but with none of the flair of either.

I’m not gonna overreact, the bottom line is I’m down for this and PS5 day one, but this 6 second glimpse just isn’t enough for me to definitely say “oh yeah next gen goodness.”

On one hand it’s just a 6 second glimpse, on the other I just don’t see something that blows me away, YET

if you told me this was on a mid-range PC or even a Pro/X I wouldn’t be that surprised, honestly, but again it’s not enough to go on

I’ll wait for official gameplay reveals

thinks Halo Infinite is a new graphical benchmark
What makes God of War special is its lore, story telling etc. when its all said and done, anyone can do its gameplay and now you factor in the PS5's hardware, this game will be

HUGE.

That's exactly what I said when it was shown. Epic gave the assets out for free. I think these guys scooped them up.

Those floors could easily be screen-space reflections. Remember SSR is dynamic and it would be very hard to distinquish between it and ray-tracing if your camera is directly in front of the mirror surface.
