What does this mean?

EPikzTRWoAAZ6E6

Imagine being this invested, peddling non-sense to no end because an incomplete Github repo fits your narrative, and then writing harebrained short stories about it. What a detestable individual. :messenger_unamused:(n)

Like what dude?
I was the only one who said PS5 is based on 7nm EUV
I was the first one who said PS5 will definitely be over 50 active CUs
I was the first one who said PS5's SSD is over twice as fast as SeriesX SSD
I was the only one who said about 'Project Infinity'
I was the only one who said BluePoint current project is something unexpected
etc

Man just because of saying PS5 is a little more powerful than its competitor, so many fanboys couldn't handle it :messenger_grinning:

A while back, cboat teased "General Ford’s skinner cage". Since you apparently know a lot of stuff, do you know what was this about?

7nm=6nm+EUV. Just as 7nm+ was created for those who don't wan to wait for 5nm to upgrade, 7nm and 7nP were created for those who wanted to upgrade without dealing with the incompatibilities on 7nm and EUV. 7nm+ is an early upgrade into EUV without waiting for 5nm.

That is a different map than I had seen. There are several articles out that claim that N7+ is using incompatible design rules from both past and future nodes, will be interesting to see how it works out.

But he detailed everything he saw from that game, like everything...but he can’t tell its name obviously for NDA reasons.
He didn't though - unless "action adventure" is everything. Just meaningless sentences about "wow so much leaves, so much physics"

..have no idea if it's future, past, present setting etc .. Does the main character even use a gun.. ?He could have said the studio owner's name too eg EA, Ubisoft no risk - but instead - nothing .

mckmas8808

Mckmaster uses MasterCard to buy Slave drives
Almost every PS4 user out there. I'm not saying it's 8 tflops as I expect higher, but people would still buy it regardless of how many tflops it has.

So why not just buy the full Xbox Series X then if you are willing to spend $400?

Sony already used Super Bowl ads.

2001: PlayStation 2"Future" (they showed up to PS9)
2004: PlayStation 2"Going Back" (Jet Li game)

But since 2004 they never did again that means it was not good I guess.

PS. Fixed the quote... I got the wrong person.
SONY HAS A SUPER BOWL AD EVERY YEAR!!!

People complaining about a State of Play...
... I wouldn't mind a State of PlayStation 5!
I would prefer a show with more and very well edited interviews, behind the scenes of developments, tech demos, trailers and premier of games than watching Jim Ryan (suits) talking in front of a mute press behind their laptops/smartphones just waiting to post it first.
It would end up being the same show.

I'd love to see them. Would hate to be going around spreading bad info.

Stop embarrassing yourself and get your facts straight... your (-|-) is showing...

Ohhhh that is sad :(

Well PS5 as is just wishful dream but I expected PS4 ad for The Last of Us 2.

Me too initially but, I dont think that TLOUS2 works as a Super Bowl ad due to the violence. I expect another silly live action thing they have been doing.

...

Or PS5 box shown with a date for an event.

People think the PS5 is going to be 14tf?! Wow! Ha ha. That would be pretty awesome if true.

Well I would phrase it differently.

"Some people still have hope that something magical happens which allows a small 400-600$ console to be better than a 1500$ PC even though from a thermal, mathematical and physical standpoint it would be nearly impossible to make a 12TF+ work in a mass market console form factor based on what we know about 7nm AMD products that are likely to be in the console."

I am not saying it is ENTIRELY impossible, because Sony/MS could make a very expensive console that needs a better power supply, case, cooling to handle a bigger AMD GPU chip that is capable of delivering <insert double digit thirsty fanboy TFLOPS number> if they wanted to and AMD allows them a gigantic GPU.

But it would surprise me beyond belief if they actually went for it. Imagine a console that draws like 400W constantly compared to a PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One X that draw less than half of that.

A PS5 or Xbox Series X at 14TF would be the same as if the ORIGINAL PS4 and Xbox One came out with 4-5 TFLOPS in 2013 compared to the 1.8/1.3 they actually came with.

Whatever is going to happen when the reveal comes there is no way for the high expectation crowd to win. They can only lose. If an unlikely 13,14TF powerhouse will be unveiled then they expected/hoped for that and the people with more reasonable expectations are going to cheer in joy. The other way around though with console below 10 ... very rough for the believers.

This is quite surprising... Was expecting Sony to have at least one Ad there.

I hate to do this but, she knows about the ads marketing companies are putting out there. She says she hasn't heard about Sony. Which means they are not doing one or just aren't putting out there that they are doing one. I'm going to jump to conclusions here and say if they are doing one, they don't want people to know yet. Very unlike their previous years.

Superbowl adds can cost upwards of $5M for a 30 sec spot. while there is a certain amount of prestige in having a SB add, Sony can probably get better bang for their buck.

I want to know why do people only claims know we only have a state of play in February ?

We have until Tomorrow to know...

Im pretty confident the PS5 is 9.2tflop with faster ssd. It makes sense of the dev talking about how one console will be weaker but better balanced. It also makes sense because Sony dominated this gen so much that they dont need to win the power game to sell PS5s but MS does need to win it if they hope to get back in the race. Sony is more likely to sell at $399 and not take a loss whereas MS would be more willing to take a loss.

I'll see if I can find the one I read recently that was discussing the differences between designing silicone for short-term (desktop/mobile) and long-term (medical, security, consoles, etc.) use. It has been a few months though. You are probably 100% correct, I'm not in the chip fabrication business by any stretch of the imagination. :messenger_grinning:

Even 9.5 tf Navi gpu with fastest ssd on market and zen2 cpu won’t be 400 with no loss lol

Warning to everyone in this thread, pray you don't become this emotionally invested when you reach 50 YO as well.

Sad part is, I think a lot of the posters here are already on the lower-end of what most would consider middle-age. At least I am.

I don't think there is anything wrong with being interested in a technology and following progress.

Yeah releasing a console for $399 they will have to take a loss. No matter if it is 8TF or 12TF. The cost of all the AMD components + fast SSD + Ray Tracing hardware + 4k blu ray drive + power supply + case/fans etc.
In my opinion it is worth it, but my feeling still tells me that the $399 days are over and we should expect 450-500$.

TL;DR: IMO the benchmarks are still the most accurate depiction of PS5's "big" specs we have to date, unless future benchmarks uncover to point to something else (if they haven't already). I put stock in most of the insiders and acknowledge certain other things they say are either true or probable, but question their wording on PS5 specs because we're really late into this and no data's come out to back up their claims. I'm 100% open to having that data be uncovered but until it does, for me it's Data > Rumors on this specific issue.

You think AMD would just sit around and let people "defame" them by posting fake benchmarks consistently, without issuing a C&D? I mean, fake benchmarks would've been countered by "real" benchmarks by now, I'd think.
It's nothing more than your belief and interpretation. It's your right to ignore holes in this leak and obvious stretch in interpretation to get to conclusion that you like.
But you should agree that it's only you subjective opinion, other people have right to other interpretations of the same facts (their subjective opinions), and all of this just forum rumbling that has nothing with scientific approach.

There are some simple question that have no answers, and having no answers means that conclusion are just "loosy hypothesis" nased on subjective bias and nothing else.
1. It's not proven that the leak is real and actual - not tailored or doctored. We get some vague confirmation that "data is real", but it can mean anything. For example - I get data from 2018 year, change all dates 1 year forward, and post it as leak. Basically all data in it is "real", but all further conclusions have a high chance of being faulty (doctored results). Or Sony decides to create a misleading leak to fool everyone and lower expectation. They ask AMD to do some tests of old stuff, put some garbage into folders and pretend that it is spontaneus leak by some intern. Post it on the internet and watch the forums burn (controlled tailored leak).
There is a reason why all scientific theories cannot be based on just one source and must be checked against independent source.
2. Even if this data is completelly true and reflect current state of chips, there are a lot of other interpretations - BC testing, dual GPU, old revision random testing etc. And they are as good as pushing agenda of "36 CU is a final state" - because it's impossible to hard prove that they are faulty conclusions (not enough data) and most everyone can do is to rely on "I think my explanation is more reliable". And this is not science - science theory is objective, replicable and doesn't allow different interpretations in the same borders of framework.

And personally for me this information have less value than insiders info. Because insiders have educated opinion based on information with presumably with completeness. And everyone who tries to push this leak do a guess with very weak foundation of incomplete information with absence of established framework what this information is about, that is usually a basis to have heavily influenced by bias conclusion.

For those talking about Superbowl ads, It wont happen. This is election year on US, it is said that Bloomberg will pay as much as 10M for a spot. It has become prohibitive for others.

well technically speaking, the difference between 12 and 9 tflops is actually a smaller percentage distance than the 1.8 and 1.3 of ps4 and xb1 so its not really all that asinine. Especially if Sony is going for a $399 box and MS is going for $499. I ln fact, considering MS asked $100 more for their 1.3tflop machine would make a 9tflop PS5 far less asinine than what MS did.

In the end, I personally believe there wont be a huge difference BUT its not hard for me to believe that Sony opted for a cheaper/weaker option. I say this because, they dominated so much this gen that they dont HAVE to take a loss on each console, they have no incentive to take a risk and they have every reason in the world to play it safe. On the other hand, MS got dominated and NEED to take risks. They are in the position to where they would be willing to take a loss on each console just so that they can regain ground
Can you explain how 9 and 12 rdna aren't that much different than 1.3 and 1.8 GCN gap. It made a huge difference on the current gen. I literally can look at an OG Xbox1 dashboard on a good tv and see that it looked different looking from the dashboard graphics than the OG PS4. I owned 360 but PS4 looked a world different to my eye on an expensive tv.
