Final Fantasy 7 Remake Special DLC Summons

It’s not like Knights of the Round is even going to be in this game. I don’t remember, is Bahamut even available in the Midgar section of the game?

The high level summons are much later in the game. Bahamut (assuming you're talking about Bahamut Zero) and Knights of the Round will probably be in the last chapter.

They might separate episode 2 into many different parts but sold in form of dlc, that’s why they never stated this is episode 1. Depends on how many people will preorder the dlc parts, that’s their motivation to make the other half of the remake.

Cactuar! Oh god I remember trying so many times to encounter him on the world map and then not have it run away! Those childhood memories.

Also, love the remix theyve done of the original bsttle music. This game is love.

DLC summons? Fuck off.

I was day one on this but if this is how they want to do things then I'll wait for the inevitable GOTY "complete" edition.

I just hope that edition isn't broken up into "GOTY Complete" and "GOTY Digitual Deluxe Complete" and... "GOTY 1st Class Digital Deluxe Complete"

I'm prepared to wait another 10 years, though, for the full edition.

"little longer" probably means 10-15 years.
Man, I've been doing the waiting game a lot in this life. I've waited for Kingdom Hearts 3, The Last Guardian, Pokemon Adventures Tri to get a final season, Hunter x Hunter to release at least 10 chapters per year, Berserk to end, Bastard to get something, D. Gray Man, waiting things to arrive in a 3rd world country hahaha. Life is just a giant waiting game that you progress slow and steady, so there is nothing I can't wait for.

A super saiyan chicken and a deformed dog?

Anyway.... are these actually locked to DLC or is it some form of "early unlock"?. Because if they're locking in-game content behind pre orders this has just gone to wait for a sale.

I’ve already pre-ordered, but would like to just tell them something...

FUCK OFF.

Giving shit away that should be in the base game is utterly disgusting and it’s one of the worst sins. STOP.
They did this with FF14's expansion ShadowBringers (Aetheryte earrings) to boost their financial result.
It's disgusting as fuck because it's also discrimination, people might call it a incentive but it's BS towards people that purchase it layer.

That aside I'd pre-order already regardless, but I'm waiting on next-gen console specs as I'd like to play it on the most powerful console.
Here's hoping the bonus is the same.

Not really a fan of this practice, I'm skipping launch of this game so I guess I don't get to have these summons.

Sometimes pre-order bonuses are cool, like for Doom Eternal I believe I'm getting one of those little lunchbox tins made for the game, it's an EB preorder bonus, plus there's some superfluous in game items but whatever. But I mean, summons in FF7? I bought your game now let me play it.

Meh these are shit summons and will probably be released later down the line for everyone else...

With all the other shit in this industry, this is nothing.

It's not nothing when your game is one of the most hyped in the last 20 years...
And there is always a risk of other devs and publishers copying this shit for their remakes.

Capcom already did this with re2 remake and the original ost not included in the game...

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Do we know these summons are unlockable in game?
They will not be unlockable during normal gameplay. You'll need to either pre-order or buy the DLC codes from someone who did.

Annoying that they see a need for this crap but hopefully it'll be released for everyone later. I can't believe how bad they look (except cactar who continues to be cactar).

Cactuar looks good! SE has been doing summon DLCs for their games like WoFF and others, so this is just more of the same.

For people waiting, the pc version a year later should be good!

I don't get why you have to buy these seperatley.

They are complete. They haven't been worked on after the game released. They are ready to put in the game right now......... Fuck this.

See I'm in two minds about this.

On one side from a business/logistics perspective I can totally see how EXTRA resources could be given/created to generate EXTRA revenue. (Few business commit everything they have to one product/venture). Aditional revenue streams allow for more money to be invested in the first place than what would have been allocated. That's if the company has integrity of course and isn't just literally carving out a piece of the game that otherwise would have been included. It needs to be content that would never have existed for it to be fair to the consumer.

On the other hand something as important as summons that were in the original game should not be behind a paywall.

None of these summons were in the original game.

Fuckers know they got my money anyway so they are breaking the game up in parts and using something as key as red materia to increase pre-orders.

In the original game, no summon materia is available until after leaving Midgar. Choco/Mog is the first at the Chocobo Ranch followed by Shiva at Junon etc. etc.

I just hope that those Cactuar and Carbuncle pre-order DLCs get released on PSN separately.

Upgrading my pre-order to the Deluxe version would cost me about $40. These are cool, but even I have my limits.

No, just no. DLCs for a game that should be complete and was already parted into at least 2 games (or 3), no way. Really really bad move SquareEnix.

Can't wait till you got to Golden Saucer in part 2 or 3 and have to pay real money for the attractions. :(

I really have nothing against DLCs, but FF 7 is a game about exploring and getting the last secret out of the game. If there are extra summons, they should be in the game and be available by doing some "secret" quest that is not directly presented to the player or something like that.

Imagine they include a Final Fantasy 7 cabinet in the Golden Saucer! The whole PS1 game fully playable. If you play to the end, you know the big twist and so when the time comes you can change fate and unlock an alternative ending in the real game!... I've maybe thought about this too much 😂
