Is Bloodborne the best game this generation?

IMO yes. I can't believe the Playstation Celebration theme goal 2 have Last of Us 2 instead of Bloodborne. Find this super stupid.

Are you comparing it to Sekiro? Bloodborne has :

- better visuals
- better lore
- better gameplay (im no ninja)
- better soundtrack
- muuuuch better levels
- better fights
- better bosses
- didn´t die within first few months of release due no
- has PVP
- better enemies
- Bloodborne Theme >>> Sekiro "Feudal Nippon"
- no requirement to parry 99.999999% to succeed
- youtube bloodborne content shits on sekiro (3x Platforms)

I prefer Nioh 1 over Sekiro. No one will ask for a remaster of Sekiro in the next 100 years. People are already asking for a BB2 or Pro 4K patch .... and are still finding, gathering new levels, maps and bosses.

Sekiro was objectively and subjectively not as good as Bloodborne.

Loved both games but sekiro was slightly better for me. The story was much better for me and much easier to follow and understand. the characters were awesome. you actually needed to dodge, and jump, it's just no parry. I thought the bosses and gameplay were better in sekiro.

Man really don't understand the love for this game, controls like garbage, bad camera angles, and the challenge to beat the game is like for 5 year olds.

It's essentially a 3D translation of 2D Mario games and the controls are smooth as butter. I think the difficulty was perfect and is part of it's charm. I'm not looking for some sort of crazy challenge in every game I play.

For me it is.

It's the game I got a PS4 for.
It's still the game that makes my purchase of that PS4 a good decision.

Nothing captured me this gen like Bloodborne did. Monster Hunter World comes in at just the heels of the masterpiece that is Bloodborne.

And that's just the unpatched base game with the loading times that took half a year.
The DLC made this GOTG even better.

I felt the controls were shit, Mario 64 controls much better. 2d mario plays much better and offers much better controls and a much better challenge.

The answer is no.

Slowly but steady I am coming to fucking hate everyone who is praising Bloodborne like it's our savior.

It is a truly great game, one of the best of this generation even, for sure.
But it's still fucking subjective and I just can't stand these "ermahgerd is this da best evrrrrrrrr game" questions and threads.

So much for my 2 cents, love you guys.

Great game and Absolutely yes it's one of the best games this gen but it's not the best game this gen to everyone really .. it's a matter of taste tbh

Not sure if you've played Mario 64 recently, but it absolutely does not control better. The platforming is much more imprecise, actually. SM64 is also my favorite game of all time. So, take that for what it's worth.

Hmm, let me run down that list real quick.

Wow, you convinced me.

Huh, it's almost as if forums were a way of sharing opinions with people....who would have thought?
Maybe that Plato guy was on to something.

No, i'd pick The Witcher 3 GOTY Edition (PC version) as the best game of the generation and one of the greatest video games ever made, with Doom (2016) trailing in the 2nd place - which might get overtaken by Doom Eternal.

Demons/Dark/Blood/Sekiro, whatever you may call their recentish formula, doesn't appeal to me.

So I guess quarter of billion of people out there are forced to play that terrible game?

What are you even talking about?

I didn't say it's a bad game, but to call it the best of the generation based on the amount of players is silly. By your logic, Candy Crush is a great game.

It's much more of a translation of Castlevania controls to 3D than Mario....I don't even know how Mario even came to mind here.

I think my pick would honestly be DOOM 2016.

It's just damn fun to play and feels great. It's an unapologetically videogames-ass videogame and it revived a dead franchise in the best way possible.

If DOOM Eternal is even better I think it'll be a shoe-in as my vote for GotG.

It is really good, even great. Definitely Top3 PS exclusive material, but GOTG? Not really. Personal preference, of course, but it's not even my favorite From Software game. That said, I would totally load it up again if they updated it for Pro.

Mario in 64 just feels so much better to control. the controls are just not fun in 3d world. i actually beat 3d world and couldn't wait till it was over. playing new super mario bros u deluxe on wiiu now and i'm enjoying that.

Yeah, sometimes the praise gets so big that you need to shield your own perception of the game to not dislike it. There are some games I don't even like to read comments about it like SOTN and Ocarina of Time. I love them, but when the fans don't stop talking how incredible the are and how they are not only the best but undisputed the best, by far and how put their own franchises to shame, I stop reading/hearing.

No not even close if B.B. was multiplat no one would care. Best ps4 game is tied with persona 5 and nier automata one of the best jrpgs on the system and one of the best ajrpg/rpg with bullet hell and hack n slash character action game mixed in.

Yep, i mostly play strategy games (mainly turned based variants, not a big fan of real time), role playing games and first person shooters as those are my preferred genres, and Doom (2016) is definitely one of the best shooters i've ever played. I'm waiting on Eternal to decide which one is the 2nd best of the gen.

Statistically, the most people find it to be better than everything out there. I know that GOTG, GOTY, GOAT et.c are subjective matter for each peron, but putting sentiments aside and using purely objective statistics, that's just how it is..

It's not on PC, so not even a top 10 material.

I really disagree here. no one makes games like fromsoftware. I only played BB and sekiro and they are gaming perfection for me.

The art style is the best of gen for me, but that is obviously subjective.
I really liked the Chalice Dungeons, specially when the random generator goes wrong and creates weird ones. I had dungeons with corridor after corridor that ended in a dead end and a funny one with the 1st room after the lantern being a small/medium room with 2 cannon undead giants and 2 bone Ash hunters right out of the door looking at me ("fuck me" moment followed by instant death).
It's easy to become addicted to dungeon creation just to see what's inside.

It's a F2P multiplayer game with microtransactions. What in the hell are you talking about? The amount of players doesn't necessarily speak to the quality of a game. If that's how you're measuring this, you're looking at it completely wrong.
