Kids stay home and half the NHS stays home too. Lesser of two evils.

Its not that simple and you know it. Children are ”super-spreaders” of every virus they get. Even one of the scientists Boris drags out has called them that, because it doesn’t matter how many times you tell them they have appalling personal hygiene and don’t understand the danger to themselves or anyone around them.

Its putting vulnerable children like ones with severe asthma at risk (children have died from corona) and the staff at completely unacceptable and unnecessary risk.

Thats why other countries have closed schools because isolating children at home protects everyone.

This video really showed what is happening in the Italy hospital now.
The hospital showed in video is better equipped and cleaner than 60% of ER and hospitals I saw in California. If U.S encounter similar situation, it would be a nightmare.

Something just doesnt add up here. If they are going off of the same info the rest of the international community is then why isnt it working in Italy? Does this support the "2 strains" theory that seems to be popping up? Do other countries just have more ventilators that Italy? I know their population skews older and smoking is much more common but there are just still so many questions.

I'm not the one simplifying here. You were complaining about Boris making a choice as if that choice was obvious with no repercussions. The fact is that there ARE repercussions to your choice. Anyone in power has to make difficult decisions. There isn't a magic wand that makes everything perfect and OK. I'm taking your simplified view of the thing and pointing out a problem with it.

Consider of large amount of retired seniors of population, Florida would be hit extremely hard in the coming future.

Another Darwin Award 2020 nominee!!!!

We are expecting this locally. That’s one of my home news stations. I’m keeping my grandmother away from me during all of this. It’s sad but they are going to get hit hard.

Kids with severe asthma should stay home based on the guidelines given. Anyone over 70 or anyone else with underlying health issues should be avoiding as much as possible social contacts, asthma is one of those conditions.

Everyone around me getting time off while business is booming at my work. I work in the dairy industry and I’ve never seen shit move this fast. At least I’m making big money with OT but I kinda wish I can lock myself in my home and smoke weed all day. There’s never a damn break for me :(

There could be a zombie apocalypse going on and I’d have to go into work. People need milk and cheese....

GM Resorts International announced Sunday it is temporarily suspending operations at all Las Vegas properties “until further notice” effective Tuesday.

Casino operations are set to close Monday, followed by hotel operations. The company will not be taking reservations prior to May 1.

In China, It take 4 days up to 14 days for average person got infected and showed symptoms. Many countries only test patients with mild symptoms. Depend on the individual health, It takes 7-20 days to take patients with mild symptoms to became critical and need hospitalized. There is a lag between reported cased and real cased inside country. What we see the new confirmed cases in Italy/other countries are just merely the real number of new patients 2 weeks ago; the peak has yet to come. China put Wuhan under locked down when there is around 600 confirms cases. It takes 2 weeks to see the effect of lock down. I highly suggest this article;

I did not read any trustworthy medical r research paper approved "2 chains mutation" theory yet .

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Oregon governor Kate Brown orders all restaurants and bars closed, starting tomorrow and lasting "at least four weeks".

BNO does not seem to do USA updates as much on twitter anymore but today is really busy for the States

It's really awesome to see this
This is the kind of quality quarantine content I'm looking for, mofos.

I love seeing thatn people can still show some sort of hope in times like these.

I really enjoy all my fellow Italians singing from the balconies and having a good time.

I mean if it ever gets like that in the USA, we will probably die of boredom since we don't live neck and neck with each other like they do in Europe.

Havoc like crashing the world economy and impoverishing tons of people before this is all said and done. Like Offit says, we are electively causing massive harm that will take many years to recover from.

And what if we take it too lightly, it gets worse and fucks everything up more than now?

The Korean government announces the data of newly tested and confirmed cases at the same time each day (10:00AM local), which is in about an hour and a half. It'll be interesting to see the Monday data.

One area under quarantine, people ordered to self-quarantine, masks are everywhere, a little less hysteria than a week ago. Hopefully it stays that way.

And if you want the Korean perspective, we believe Japan is not testing worth a damn for its data to be representative of the situation. While I have no idea whether this is true or not, a prevailing belief amongst Koreans is that the Abe government is restricting the amount of tests being conducted in order to prevent a postponement/cancellation of the 2020 Olympics--any delay or cancellation would probably see Abe out of the PM seat next election; too much money at stake.

I repeat, I have no idea whether that theory is true or not.

Yeah. Living in Japan and pretty sure the numbers are being suppressed.
Yesterday's numbers were 43 tests and 33 positives. Shit makes no sense.

Not sure if this was posted - a reminder that even for people in their 40s-50s with minor pre-existing issues, this thing isn't a necessarily a death sentence or cause for being put in the ICU.

To put that into perspective, last week in Korea, there were about 12,000 tests done daily, 6,000 tests done on Sat. and Sun.
