Would you want a remastered Mass Effect trilogy?

How many of you are holding out for a trilogy remaster? I think I might just build a PC just to play them if there are no announcements soon. I know EA STARTED buzzing about re-releasing some old fan favorites. But it could mean anything. Plus, they might botch a remaster. Modern BioWare isn't exactly known for making great games. Even if those games were already made.

I’m waiting for the official announcement with info, but if there’s no graphics overhaul, then what’s the point? Just play it on PC.

If EA is gonna task Bioware (or some other internal team) with a remaster, how 'bout converting the 100s of hours of cutscenes and voice acting into a single-player offline The Old Republic experience? It would be a brand-new title for a lot of gamers.

I played the first game for few hours years ago but lost interest. I would definitely try playing it again if they remastered the trilogy.

If they released a proper remaster with a decent visual upgrade and maybe some gameplay enhancements I'd be all over it.
If it's just a 60fps and 1080p+ port I'd pass

No. Make new IP's / games.

Normally...yeah.

But I'd take a Remaster of a good franchise over some new games as a service crap from """Bioware"""

My first reaction to this was disgust. Disgust soon morphed into desire as I began to realize how much content there is and that the game could be a very solid single player experience over a few titles if EA wanted to drip feed that bank account.

Yes, I would love that! I tried playing TOR several times, but the grind always stopped me after a couple hours.

I played the first game last christmas for the first time and I certainly had a good time playing it.

But I wouldn't buy a remastered version, I want them to focus on newer games.

It could be released as a package deal. Sort of like the Master Chief Collection. You wouldn't have to change games manually. They would all be on one menu. There could also be a menu that tracks your decisions so you don't have to keep track of them in your head across all three games.

Every game with every piece of dlc remastered with improved graphics. 1080p/60hz on PS4 and Xbox One. 4k/60hz on Pro and X. All with native controller support which the PC versions don't have.

I fail to see the downside here. The demand for a trilogy remaster was higher than the demand for Andromeda at the time. I imagine this package, if made correctly, would print money for EA. And given that BioWare can't make a good game to save their lives these days, I think it would certainly look good on the quarterly report while at the same time earning some good will from longtime fans of the series.

If there's no multiplayer for 3, a remaster would be a tragedy.

Well you should build a PC regardless if games are your hobby. Its always good to have a rig due to the vast library it gives you access to. There's mods for the series, including a hacking minigame skip for 2, and a revised ending for 3.

I'd like to have it available for sure, but I'm not itching to replay them right now. It's one of my all time favorite series though, so I'm sure I'll want to do another run at some point and having a remastered version available would be ideal.

If I can skip all Mako-missions without any disadvantages (I HATE the Mako) + we get 4K resolution on the X1X/PS4Pro/nextgen then I will buy the old trilogy again. I also own Andromeda.. imo Andromeda was not that bad.

I know. There are many older games I would love to play on PC on my 4k screen. I might just end up doing that this year. The new consoles sound great, but backwards compatibility is still a struggle.

Multiplayer was the only good part of 3. IMO of course. I don’t play on PC but those ME3 mods I keep hearing about do sound much better than the stock game.

No. Make new IP's / games.

Remasters are usually done by small teams, sometimes outsourced so it wouldn’t interfere with new games.

To answer the question I’d love Mass Effect Trilogy on Switch. I expect it to be announced by the end of the year but to skip Switch and release for current gen consoles and PC.

I can play the trilogy anytime on Xbox, but I'd still pay full price for a remaster. Yes I want it. It's that good.

I'd prefer a remaster of ME1, with it implementing the superior gameplay of the sequels, keeping most of the original plot intact. I would prefer a 'remake' of ME2 and ME3, with a complete overhaul of the plot.

It's always crazy to me how much the ending impacts people view of 3.

3 had Mordins sacrifice, Tali's suicide after the destruction of her people, GOAT Javik/the revelations concerning his people, and Thane's badass death right off the top of my head. The journey was more than worth the price of entry.

For $20 for all three games, probably. Thing is: This is EA. One look at Crysis tells me that they will not do a trilogy, they will do the first game and release it for around $40. And in that case I can gladly wait until all three games are out and on EA Access and play it there. It's not like I haven't played them before and am now in a hurry to do it again.

I doubt this games would somehow become less buggy with a remaster or whatever, and they already walked a fine line between Bethesda bugs and regular non buggy games.
So please no, let's not spit again on this franchise, it was good and it's over, move on.

i mean, it was such a big missed opportunity and the studio had already shown how they can cash on this build ups in DAO, felt like a joke at the time. The indoctrination theory might as well had become canon to fix it. It was surreal how the ending shifted quality wise just in the final stretch.

On the Switch or X/Pro Enhanced, you bet. Otherwise, I have them through backwards compatibility and it already runs really well.

I fully agree... ME3 is extremely underrated... And ME2 is at the same time extremely overrated.

The ending nullified all you did and made it meaningless. The whole point of the Mass Effect journey was to make choices that affect the outcome and the way the ending was written made it all pointless.

I'd rather have a remake than a remaster, ideally though can we just have a new Mass Effect. Let's have a a prequel please when the humans first discover the mass effect relays.

I’d kill for a remaster on PC with controller support.

There's a full controller mod for both 1 and 2 on the nexus. It works really well.

In addition to the community made texture packs the games can look really good, especially at higher resolutions.

I would be interested in a remaster as long as it actually improves the PC versions of the game significantly

I'm really torn on this. I have the trilogy on PS3, just never played it. It's still on my to-do list.. but if a remaster is announced I will NOT go back to PS3 versions.

Not really. If they just make a new game that captures the feeling of the first one and has the polish of the second, they'll be printing money and I'll be happy to play it.

if its more than just a resolution bump, then yes!

my worry is its gonna be just a res bump with poor textures everywhere
