Just curious really how much time you allocate to gaming on the average week and how you balance your other commitments (work, relationships, kids etc).

I would say maybe 20 hours a week for me. I only work 30 hours a week, am single with no kids. Gaming is pretty much by main hobby. I think I would find it hard to adjust to having a family where I could only play a few hours a week but then part of me thinks I need to get my priorities right 😂.

These replies are triggering me *hugs games* 😂😂 #jokes

The Witcher 3 at say 200 hours including expansions at 5 hours a week is 40 weeks 😮😮.

Between 10 and 20h.

I play only on evening, once the kids are in bed.

If we do nothing with my wife, I usually make session around 2h sometimes 3h.

If we watch an episode of a serie, I try to game a bit after as well.

At the moment I play a bit less so it's something like 2-3 big sessions of 2/3h and 2-3 small ones.
Otherwise it's something like 4-5 times 2/3h.

This applies for singleplayer games.
Multiplayer games (For Honor and at the moment Warcraft 3) tend to increase my playtime and reduce my sleep time drastically, due to the "I just do a last match" syndrome. So I try to avoid them :)

10-20 on average, but there will be weeks where it's 5 and weeks where it's 50. Really depends what's going on.

No kids, and working from home during the pandemic has freed up a lot of time I would usually spend travelling to and from work, which is hopefully now completely a thing of the past.

The Burning Crusade Classic launch is gonna be a 90 hour gaming week, that's for sure.

It depends. Usually its 2-3 hours a day, on my days off it can go 5-8 hours. But it also depends on what I'm playing. Persona 5 for example I played 80 hours worth over 2 weeks. Other times I barely play anything at all.

I have 3 kids, a wife and a full time job. Witcher 3 + addons took me nearly 1 year 😂

But actually I can squeeze out 5-6h gametime a week.

probably around 20 hours at least. I tend to jump on civ 5 and just lose track of time,

I was like that with Civ 4 and Alpha Centauri. Just one more turn 😂

Do you appreciate games where you can just jump in and our easily however when time is limited like fighting games, rocket league etc.

Sounds very similar to my habits apart from the "times when I barely play anything at all" part. Theres just too many good games out all the time this gen 😭

In non-pandemic scenarios, i'd say about 20 hours or so? It could go up to 30 or more as well as be a total 0 depending on the week.
There's also the fact that i don't just play games in my free time, so even during periods i'm relatively unoccupied i could go weeks with little to no playtime at all.

That one more turn is a sleep destroyer. The last fighting game I was in to was Tekken 3 honestly. I did buy the new street fighter and smash but I've barely played them. I tend to not play the games where you can jump in and out easily. I kind of feel like it would be more productive since I rarely ever finish my session in civ 5 even with the quick playthrough.

Yeah I hear you. My favourite element of any game is its story so they tend not to be drop in and out games either. Just fighting games are the exception.

I tend to just play fighting games just for the story at the end of each campaign. That's why I'm always like make an anime of this fighting game please.

At the moment I have 168 hours of free time to play games every week.

After this bloody covid-19 thing dies down it'll be back to barely and hour a day.

10-20 hours seems to be the over whelming average, and we are the enthusiast side of the market.

Ive always been an advocate for higher prices of the new consoles but does make you put it in perspective when you think 90% of the market will be playing less than us.

Where has this stereotypical image of the gamer come from that spends all day and night playing games in his or her mam's basement 😂

Work, wife, kid, house and the chores that come with that......
Means I get to play fuck all before the bably sleeps, ca. 6pm on a normal day.
OTH there are some gaming hours sprinkled in here and there on the weekend.
Then there are days I don't play at all.

I picked 10-20 hours on that poll. On an average day, I have like 3-4 hours of free time.
Could probably do more than that but sometimes there's a big match on TV and/or my wife wants to watch a movie.
And I try to keep up with TV shows and my workouts as well.

man, reading about how busy some of yall are with family stuff makes me feel so much better abut being single with no kids :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Enjoy it while it lasts!

LMAO Not what I meant!

Thing is, shit moves quickly sometimes. 4 years ago I lived as a single in the inner city in an apartment and after work all I had to do was to decide:

- what game to play
- what TV show to watch
- where to order/picku up food

Marriage, baby, house.... it all came really quickly.

Probably around 10 or less a week. Sunday and Monday are usual gaming days for me due to my schedule. It’s nice to sit down for a good gaming session these days .

It really depends, but I usually can squeeze in 10-15 hours a week. This is why I usually need 6-10 weeks for an RPG I really like.

I play anything between 4-6 hours and only at the weekend. It's a good balance and helps me enjoy them more.

At the start of lockdown, I found myself playing more, anywhere between 10-20 hours and I honestly just found it grating.

Gaming is a weird hobby in that the more time I play, the more I end up getting annoyed and ultimately not enjoying them.

It's been a fat 0 for a couple weeks now. Everyday I say tomorrow I will and it never happens. And at night I've just been Netflixin'.
