Just my two cents .

For people who have a meltdown and thinking to leave for good i say the mods should tell based on your past we dont think this is necesarry and instead of perm we just give you a time out.
Maybe you change your mind and come back.

Also i think though i am new here and didnt explore the depths of gaf , maybe there should a counceling thread where butthurt people can go and let it all out or just discuss their issues whithout the risk of getting banned. Maybe that would resolve some of the tention maybe even bring the 2 sides closer .

In closing dont ever make hasty permanent decisions just like in real life. We all are human we all have feelings but there is always a way to work things out.

That is if you are not a fucking piece of shit with an alt account poping in to tell people.

Carry on.

I'm asking for a permanent ban. Like people in this thread mentioned it already playstation fans can say whatever they want without any penalty and it's obvious people arnt treated equally here on neogaf.

For example "geordiemp".
Geordie has edited his post now but I remember what he wrote before his edit and if someone else would start calling playstation fans dicks in PS5 nextgen thread he would be banned for posting such comment in no time (maybe even permanently). Of course because geordie is a playstation fan and gold member he can do whatever he want, because the same rules dont apply to him.

Few days ago my post was removed just because I have wrote "music to my ears" in response to post that mentioned XSX leak and today I was removed from next gen discussion for really absurd reason again (I thought people can speculate in speculation thread, but apparently not even when it was a fair speculation based on available info and gonzalo leak). Playstation brand fans can speculate how much they want and even suggest absurd things like XSX I/O is even below 500 MB/s (based on BC game load times alone) and make fun from people waiting for XSX across multiple pages later on, yet I have mentioned PS5 GPU clock just once and..... 😉😅

But enough is enough. I say big NO to such unfair rules and I dont want to be a part of such community, where only playstation brand fans are allowed into discussion without any "gifts" from the mods. I'm saying playstation brand for a reason, because people who just like playstation games are fine 👍🙂 (in fact I like playstation games for myself).
Your deleted "music for my ears" post was not a response to a "XSX leak" as you claim.

That is a false statement.

It was a direct reply to an user who posted that PS5 4chan bullshit 👇

All lives matter. But hey, nobody gave a fuck about the muslims getting burned in china, nor gave a fuck about all those slaves in libya, nor gave a single fuck about all those innocent people that are being killed in palestine. Now watch them make me sound like a racist

It only matters when its happening in the US. People decided to be "humane" only in the US case. We're living in a world full of two-faced hypocrite cunts. NOW PREACH HUMANITY AND HUMAN RIGHTS :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy:
You're not human mate. You're lgbtqyhjsdob++++ phobic, a terrorist and a women hating Muslim (even though you can marry four of them which should mean you love them, but ehh). You die, no one cares. Worthless.

Black lives matter, Brown lives matter, All lives matter to me. It's what my religion taught me. Killing one innocent life is like killing all humans. A human life Is that huge and important.

In US case, we all know the bad history it had/has with African Americans/Blacks. The last incident is just one of many, possibly 1000s. It just happened someone took a very clear video of it and with the current social media, that spark spread like wildfire. They have a right to stand and deservedly so. We can think they're selfish of only thinking about their own problems, but this is the case with the whole world. Not only that, even every home, every family. It also happens that the US is allegedly the most powerful country in the world currently, and we know from history how this usually means influencing the rest of the world. So nothing new here.

I feel somewhat like Lady Bernkastel.. Sometimes GAF is not a friendly place to be an Xbox fan or more accurately, to not be a die-hard PlayStation fan. It's no secret I'm an Xbox fangirl, but the numbers of Xbox fans keeps dwindling either by bans or by getting fed up and leaving.

Lady B got pissed and left because his SSD thread got closed as disingenuous while the have been a multitude of PS5 SSD threads that are way out in fantasy land and that's perfectly OK. One guy has made like 10 or 12 SSD threads himself.

You have one guy getting a ban for saying the PS5 is 9 TFs another for saying Lockhart is about half the flops of the PS5. While you have Sony fans claiming all kinds of crazy stuff. Lady Bernkastel noted some of it here before he left:

There are rumblings from several people messaging me lately that they are fed up and thinking of leaving. Lady B already left, tons have been banned for minor things and many just don't post much anymore for fear of getting banned. It's getting me down, I don't want to be the last Xbox fan standing.

I think it's quite possible that all the horrible things going on in US and in my city right now is making me overly sensitive to issues I've brought up here.. Looting, rioting, non-stop protesting by tens of thousands every day/all day in my city. Thousands dead from Covid in L.A. and many thousands more soon to be sick or dead thanks to the throngs gathering daily in our streets. This shit is getting me down for real.

I will also say even if I do end up being the last Xbot standing there are TONS of intelligent, articulate and entertaining people like yourself that that are fans of all consoles and Sony fans that just enjoy PlayStation without being gung ho soldiers in the SDF. You guys all definitely cause me to step back and think it over before I do something rash.

To everyone that commented,, thank you for the support and thank you for being awesome. ♥ :messenger_heart:
Yo. I don't know if I'm on your shitlist or not :messenger_grinning_sweat: But about the Xbox fans who were banned, don't you think they were always pushing a certain narrative only to stir up problems with PS fans? Purposely causing trouble? What reaction would you think the PS fans would have in return? I also honestly don't see anyone on the PS side purposely spreading false information on XSX or continuously denying facts. Facts, not opinions. Facts like actual official specs we have for both.

Allow me to turn this around for a moment. How would you feel if I kept pushing on an almost daily basis, that the XSX is a 10TF machine that has RDNA 1 with not so good RT solution yada yada yada, based on very old info, completely ignoring the current official final specs we have available? You'd most probably think I'm stirring up crap just to cause trouble. Else why am I choosing to simply ignore the new and stick to the old? Because it makes the machine weaker, right? It makes it look worse, therefore I win? Isn't that silly and insecure?

Here's a better scenario. I'm a Xbox fan who read official specs of both XSX and PS5, and I will talk and debate respectfully about these official specs, with the current official information that we currently have. The XSX has 12, the PS5 has 10.28. The PS5 has a faster SSD, the XSX has slower SSD, but still fast. These are facts that shouldn't/can't be changed. Hey PS fan, I see you have a super fast SSD, and that's cool and I wish we had that, but guess what, we have a powerful gpu here with the 12tf edge. Then discuss and debate all this. Debate all the official final specs. Going back to the very old unofficial info is very disingenuous and shows me your true intent.

Using a food analogy: It's like you're a fellow Cake Baker in competition with me. You came into my kitchen and saw me halfway through baking a 4 layered cake, or 70% or 80% of it, but surely not the finished cake. No icing, maybe 2-3 layers, no fruits or sprinkles, etc. Then you leave spreading word of what you saw. Hours later I come out with the finished cake, 4 layers, maybe 6 even because I can! With all the bells and whistles done and complete. Are you seriously going to tell people that's not the real cake? Keep screaming in my face it's actually a bland 3 layered cake, even though it's right there in front of you, the finished article? People looking at you would think you're either nuts or plain jealous. That's what it looks like with these consoles.

I honestly thought this was all common sense and doesn't need any explanation.

But maybe when someone is too far on one side they're just too biased or blind to see or know what's on the other side. Or maybe they simply don't care or refuse to even bother. In my very humble opinion, I don't know why anyone would do that to themselves. In my eyes, you're simply just denying yourself the joys of exploration and discovery and let jealousy eat you. It's very close minded.

My 10.28 + 12.14 cents :messenger_beaming:

Gotta say it's kind of funny GreatYoshi dude was such a long-time poster here and no one gave a fuck when he got permed.

I don't think it is funny. I give a fuck. He was banned for disagreeing with the egalitarian societal narrative. Didn't slur anyone, didn't behave badly as a poster. He just gave an opinion that is considered heresy in the modernist religion. To me that is evidence that we are beginning to slide back towards what we used to be. Placing certain opinions outside the pale is ALWAYS going to be dangerous because it relies on interpretation of where those borders are.

We should be striving for a standard that values arguments made, and we should be warning and banning only those who are insulting or slurring people. What I saw in the thread that Yosh got banned from was a back and forth of arguments, with links and evidence posted on both sides that were fully open to be debated until the typical shitlib name calling began....(to which Yosh did not respond in kind).

And a PERMA as well...? Very lame. He contributes a lot IMO and should be brought back....if he wants to be...?

Your welcome to any opinion, but the words IMO / Opinion / I think or even words maybe or possibly which suggests and implies its your thought, even if it goes against what has been stated directly by companies.

When you say company X did this because of this, that is either direct inside knowledge of that companies planning and strategy or making it is up.

And the one where Sony panics and ps5 is melting super hot too fast is common bait which I fell for, as do most posters will on any forum.

Hey folks

Caught the tail end of this yesterday and someone asked us to look in the meme thread as well. We let it sit overnight so more contributions could be added and maybe let the dust settle. I guess we should address things in order. I see two users have requested perms which is a shame, never like to see that. I've reduced them to two weeks 'cooling off' period. If, after those two weeks they get a message to other posters here or just request again then we'll upgrade back to perm.

I've just had a quick read over histories and events and saw Lady Bernkastel's main objection was the custom tag. So I guess we first explain tags like that. The thinking is that certain posters contribute a lot of good content, but are often unable to start threads without immediately injecting a bias, or articulating them in such a way that they become a battleground or immediately divert into a tangential 'fact' slipped in to the thread which is not a fact. In many cases, the threads are almost dead before they start. They don't generate any good discussion because they are not neutral enough or they open themselves up to scrutiny on a side point because it is wrong/unsubstantiated. There are also cases where this has been applied to both sides and thankfully an example of a user posted in the meme thread because I couldn't recall one. They also have a custom tag in the same vein and are what some people considered as 'Sony focused'.

So, when you're making these type of technical threads, there are certain levels of integrity you have to uphold. And we have explained this to various users who have complained in the past. Here are some snippets for transparency and an insight into how they are moderated (abridged). We think the requirements are reasonable:

...we have said we will reopen it based on you updating the OP and addressing certain queries in the thread that question the legitimacy [..]It also detailed exactly which posts you were to address in a list. You are being asked to provide the sources you are using for scrutiny, and also the basis of your calculations - unless you are just making these figures up in your head, then you must be sourcing them from somewhere?

Request to user: Please update your OP with the limitations and assumptions you are making with the data and calculations (along with technical documents supporting your numbers/breakdown), then we will re-open the thread. This applies to all threads of this ilk.

[..]You are being asked specifically because - as stated above - if you are making in-depth technical threads then you will be expected to have a full grasp of all the elements and be able to demonstrate[/evidence] everything you are posting. And yes, people like [REDACTED] have also been warned about this.

All a forum poster has is their credibility. There are a few instances where your credibility has been lowered. This was one such event, and was provided for you to understand where and why the moderation is being applied. There is not one single item that causes us to act, it is always an accumulation of patterns of behaviour, coupled with any suspicious activity.

We do not care which side any post or analysis comes down on the side of. What we care about is that it is clearly presented and there is no question mark about deliberate misintepretation. You will notice that [REDACTED's] thread has no platform bias, nor makes calculations that are open to intepretation - in fact one of the first sentences reads 'It's a graphical approximation...'. [REDACTED] has 'credibility' because they frame their posts in this way. So, in order for you to gain credibility, your threads (of this nature) are subject to more requirements. Just to make clear, this is not expected to be a permanent fixture, but a temporary proving ground as it were.

Without going into too many details, these reply bans and bans and thread closures are not done off the cuff or frivolously. I prefer to talk about perceptions, because they are valid points of view from a skewed perspective and need to be respected as such. It's only by appreciating both perspectives that you both arrive at the same viewing angle. So reply bans, bans, thread closures will come quicker and have less goodwill and faith applied if the same people are doing the same things. Which may lead to 'I've just opened this thread and it was closed in minutes.' Which is accurate - but it was closed because of the framing, bias and setup which has become a pattern.

At some point, this has become a vicious circle for some people. Where they are trying to prove a bias by making low quality posts, knowing they will likely be reply banned from the thread, then to proudly stagger back into thread HQ with the carcass of a reply ban over their shoulders. Case in point, comments like these below - are they going to lead to anything productive, are they based on anything tangible? And yes, plenty of posters (Sony and MS) were banned from that thread - look at how the responses are framed to the replies to quite reasonable stances.

Posts have also been deleted from Sony/TLOU2 threads - again by the same people. Here's a nugget that was deleted, the user was warned, ignored it and then doubled down to get the reply ban they were warned about. You see a pattern emerging where flippant speculations and outright conjecture are being presented as authoritative truths, which they are not.

Microsoft forced Sony to make it a ps5 launch title, btw i don't care about the war. Those trailer where it says running on a Ps4 Pro are running on PS5, look at the vegetation movement (ghost of tsushima) jaguar can't do that, ps4pro can't reach those graphics aswell.

That has not aged well but it's been removed by a moderator. These are the kinds of low level comments that are adding up. People may produce great posts in other threads but it doesn't absolve them for the other 15/20 posts that resemble the above.

I guess at this point we speak specifically to the two recent threads that might have pushed Lady Bernkastel over the edge. The first was this thread:

So firstly, let us describe what has been happening. Since we clamped down on console warring, those engaged in it have taken on a new tactic which is to look for articles from various outlets and copy/paste their titles to indemnify themselves from responsibility. That won't wash I'm afraid - as a thread starter you are responsible for neutralising the tone and providing a topic title that invites healthy discussion, not garner outrage clicks. That has been a rule since forever on GAF. So the original title for record, was the article title: "News - Despite bold claims, there is already a PC SSD that is way faster than the PS5 SSD". The article makes reference to this piece of tech clearly stating it's an enterprise targeted device. It's also clear that when Cerny gave his talk he was talking about the consumer/off-the-shelf parts for home computers and games. So the thread was updated to highlight that key distinction, and should have been done from the start. The people starting these threads are not stupid, they illustrate it across many threads with very eloquent thoughts, so when posts like this are made we know it is not a mistake in how they are framing it or why. It would be as disingenuous to say there are already compellant/symmetrix arrays outperforming a QNAP when they announce a new feature for home NAS for example.

The thread was renamed on Wednesday at 03:19 - post #236 is the discussion onwards. The OP hasn't even attempted to open up the discussion, just posted a clickbait article and left it to cause a lot of trouble and fighting about how it is framed. There is a common thread of users refusing to take responsibility for the way they are setting the threads up. At the end of the day, you can't cover yourself in jam and complain when ants crawl over you. The second link that was closed was this one:

It pretty much starts off an SSD controller comparison thread, but immediately diverts straight onto an Xbox tangent, there is a point about how the companies choose to market their throughput which was quite interesting and then it derailed around the statement that was posted by the OP. By stating these facts, you are opening that statement up to further scrutiny. The OP provided this as a fact with an article that states:

The Xbox Series X may use a DRAM-less PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD with up to a 2TB capacity that delivers up to 3.75GB/sec read and write speeds, all built with Phison's newer PS5019-E19T flash memory controller.

Read more: https://www.tweaktown.com/news/7010...ss-pcie-4-nvme-up-3-7gb-sec-speeds/index.html

And links to a now deleted LinkedIn quote. Now at this point I remind you of the OP's own standards for credible data:

Which led to this statement in the meme thread:

Based on closing a post which about SSD controller comparisons. Which also leads us back to the thread to actually ascertain the user was discussing E19T and not E18T. Did they start a thread dedicated to the Xbox SSD using E18T or E19T? Nope - maybe if they did with the intentions and scope set out from the off, it would still be open. They injected a tangential statement into a different type of thread and were called on it to provide evidence. Links were then posted in the meme thread to illustrate how other users did not have tags for similar 'clickbaity' thread titles. One of these users is now permanently banned, one of the posters reached out to moderator's and we had a frank and honest discussion which they took on board, and the MHK threads are just over the top parody threads not even meant to be taken seriously.

It's in inelegant dance and because of that members cannot help tripping over their own feet. People are tripping up trying to balance what their aim of posting the topic is, and the actual topic at hand.

#~#

So if we move onto the second requested ban from pawel86ck (who had a clean record until then) and we illustrate what is wrong with their post - again just a flippant comment that is just going to cause console wars. There's no honest discussion or attempt and moderator's have been in that thread a lot gently nudging people but there is a threshold and a recognition when people are not interested in having a discussion but just fighting.

Specifically, these two nuggets

PS5 GPU had to be OC'ed to the extreme just to not look weak next to XSX GPU,

Then goes onto

Everything I wrote are facts..

Which circles round to:

You see a pattern emerging where flippant speculations and outright fanfiction are being presented as authoritative truths, which they are not.

I also caught something earlier as I'm only just catching up with certain threads, and I see the note by F Frederic regarding their ban. So, this is a case where old data/articles have been discredited, touched upon, get stated as fact then place the burden of proof on everyone else to disprove it again. These are all things that can be checked with a quick search:

It's tantamount to repeating the same old 9.2TF from github then saying 'I've seen nothing to the contrary so prove me wrong'. It's disingenuous and it's tiring for everyone that has been through the same circles repeatedly. It's also a result of the same underlying issue by CobraXT here:

With regards to the point about just getting warnings signed by the ominous 'moderator', the software is designed so any sort of warnings, bans etc. are always marked as from 'a moderator'. It's not a conscious choice, it's just how the software displays the group. I assume it's for those organisations that use LDAP integration and real usernames, privacy might be an issue.

I'll write another post later regarding the general state of Xbox versus Sony later but I have work to do now. I hope taking the time to clarify all the above shows you that we value all of you, some of you are just stuck in very bad places right now. Ideally Sony would have revealed everything by now and speculation can pretty much stop. JareBear: Remastered JareBear: Remastered made a good suggestion of having dedicated threads per platform - if that's what you wish to do, engage with us and we can establish harsher measures for trolling those. Reply bans can be issued quicker etc. I'll be honest, I don't understand why so much time is wasted on whether x will implement y better, rather than discussing how the broader improvements will lift everyones experience. Theoretical power doesn't always equate to great games, not all studio's mocap, not all studio's have great effects artists, some engines have quirks with syncing frames and lips etc.

Peace out for now people.

Well, there it is, that sums it up pretty clearly. I see no bias towards Sony fans, As a matter of fact, I think Sony fans have taken bans to appease some of the posters who always accuse this place of being Sony biased. You look at the next Gen thread and even some of the technical and faceoff threads, some people are genuinely upset when factual information and stats are used to make a point, that is the sad thing really, they think you are attacking their console with real information. And frankly enough, some of the posters who are now displaying signs and symptoms of a persecution complex never arrest such claims and say to their buddies, hey that argument is disingenuous, lets go by the facts and argue from there, they support such false claims, they give these posters likes even when official specs are given. It means these people are putting a console war above genuine and honest discourse. That's such a very close-minded and childish way to view things, because it means you'd rather embrace folly than reality, so wherein can a genuine discussion be had, if people don't even want to go about it from basic rules of engagement.

Figures are figures, stats are stats. People going on about PS5 max clocks are boost clocks, it's real clock is less, people still pushing the RDNA 1 rhetoric and trying every way to minimize the strengths of one console whilst using all types of dishonest tactics to boost theirs, Like the CPU differences being 3.5 vs 3.8Ghz, when we know that is one without SMT and one is with..... I mean, just be honest in your arguments. There is an SMT figure for both consoles, use it if you are making that argument.

That's the thing, I thing the Sony posters are a bit more mature here, they usually argue from a point of reference and corroboration, I have never seen them use lesser figures for XBOX as opposed to what MS has officially revealed. they generally use better sources for their info, as opposed to Tim Dog, Colt Eastwood or Blue Violet. What's sad is that some posters are so desperate they are now hanging and calling technical and proven tech specialists like Cerny and Sweeney liars, whilst boosting these XBOX youtubers, I mean you have to know this is a bit too transparent a folly. I've also not seen that same desperation and disingenuous angle from Sony fans, so here lies the disparity between the two camps.

Frankly, I don't want to see the XBOX posters go, you all make this place what it is to be honest, but you guys need to stop taking these arguments so personal, that every time you are engaged, it's to trap other posters or insult instead of making an argument. At some point it becomes a bit tiresome. I've made the mistake of engaging certain posters here, only to realize, they never wanted a discussion, they only wanted to bait an answer, then to gang up and mass report, is that what we have become? Let's be clear, I'm sure XBOX will be a very competent console, like I always tell you guys, XBOX's issue is not really the hardware, it's games support. I'm sure the hardware will be fine, just don't get perturbed when people discuss the intricacies of PS5. Don't get angry because people are discussing the SSD, it's a technology that has never been in a console before or engineered strictly for gaming as it is in PS5. If devs are excited about it, gamers will too, because devs are seeing the benefits right now. All of these advancements will benefit us as gamers across the spectrum, even PC. So there's no need to be upset when we see people discussing the merits of an SSD substantiated by a dev quote.

And lets' be clear, I'd wish some of these XBOX posters would come back, I know Lady Bern was always on my back at some discord or the other, I know Pawel and I had our disagreements, but it never got out of hand on GAF, they were generally respectful and didn't use the straight insult card when the kitchen got hot. You guys can come back and just have more honest discussions. No need to go through the remote ends of the earth to interject a disingenuous argument. Lets go with the stats that we have now and argue the merits from there....

Here are some snippets for transparency and an insight into how they are moderated (abridged). We think the requirements are reasonable:

Here's a nugget that was deleted, the user warned, ignored and then doubled down on to get the reply ban they were warned about. You see a pattern emerging where flippant speculations and outright conjecture are being presented as authoritative truths, which they are not.

Since we clamped down on console warring, those engaged in it have taken on a new tactic which is to look for articles from various outlets and copy/paste their titles to indemnify them from responsibility. The people starting these threads are not stupid, they illustrate it across many threads with very eloquent thoughts so when posts like this are made, we know it is not a mistake in how they are framing it or why.

And links to a now deleted LinkedIn page. Now at this point I remind you of the OP's own standards for credible data:

Which led to this statement in the meme thread:

Based on closing a post which about SSD controller comparisons. Which also leads us back to thread to actually ascertain the user was discussing E19T and not E18T, did they start a thread dedicated to the Xbox SSD using E18T or E19T? Nope - maybe if they did with the intentions and scope set out from the off, it would still be open. They injected a tangential statement into a different type of thread and were called on it to provide evidence. Links were then posted to illustrate how other users did not have tags. One of these users is now permanently banned, one of the posters reached out to moderator's and we had a frank and honest discussion which they took on board and avoided a tag, and the MHK threads are just over the top parody threads not even meant to be taken seriously.

Then goes onto

Which circles round to:

Theoretical power doesn't always equate to great games, not all studio's mocap, not all studio's have great effects artists, some engins have quirks with syncing frames and lips etc.

Peace out for now people.

The thinking is that certain posters contribute a lot of good content, but are often unable to start threads without immediately injecting a bias, or articulating them in such a way that they become a battleground, immediately divert into a tangential 'fact' slipped in to the thread which is not a fact. In many cases, the threads are almost dead before they start. They don't generate any good discussion because they are not neutral enough or open themselves up to scrutiny on a side issue because it is wrong/unsubstantiated.

Peace out for now people.

CatLady CatLady hopefully Bill O'Rights Bill O'Rights explanation helps clear some things up for you. And I hope you don't request a perm because as you can see the mods are aware of the issues and are willing to work with us to fix them.

JareBear: Remastered JareBear: Remastered really great suggestion BTW. It's unfortunate that we have to come to this point but it really is something that happens whenever new consoles are released. Everyone including myself participate and are affected by this madness.

Thank you so much for the post Bill O'Rights Bill O'Rights as it shows that mods here are really open and spend time thinking about their decisions instead of just jumping to conclusions. Really appreciate that Gaf is so transparent with these types of things.

I disagree. Yosh was regularly saying racist things. Not just in that thread. A lot of folks have commented that some of his posts were racist... Not just SEEMINGLY but were.

From his own words, he had a problem with black people because of bullying when he was a kid. I gave him the benefit of the doubt that he would change but he never did.

With posts saying "most black people are creeps"... It's a wonder it took this long for him to be banned. He might have had warnings but that post alone wasn't why he was banned, IMO. It's been a buildup.

The way I see bans is, if you:

  • Unprovoked are an unrepentant asshole - Banned (Perm deserved)
  • Provoked are an unrepentant asshole - warning (Could be Perm'd dependent on degree of assholery. Cool your jets, change your tactics, continued behaviour of this fashion results in a Perm)
  • Are polite but deceitful - warning (continued behaviour of this sort will earn a ban, length of time dependent on degree of deceit and number of offences)
  • Are misunderstood - cool, but a continuous pattern of being misunderstood looks suspicious and should be monitored. Could then be moved up to deceit.

(In all honesty, I guess it really isn't even THAT bad, it's just little things that add up over time. For me, anyway. Can't speak for anyone else.)

Oh Larry, I'll never permanently leave as long as you're here, because I'll never be the last fan standing seeing as you're such a big Xbot (or so you've ben accused) :pie_roffles:"pie_tears_joy: :pie_roffles:

I do want to clarify a couple of things:
1. I have no intention of asking for a perm, sorry if I gave that impression. If I do decide to leave, I'll just leave. But I'm more leaning towards participating less or taking a GAFvacation, or just chilling out in games instead of GAF for a bit.

2. I do not feel I have been treated unfairly by the Mods here. They have all been wonderful to me in any dealings I've had with them.

3. In the same vein as #2, I applaud the work of whichever Mod(s) cleaned a bunch of obvious trolls out of the Meme thread.

4. I DO still feel others have been treated unevenly sometimes. As an example - I see today another person caught a temp for saying the PS5 is 9TF overclocked to 10.2. Yet the constant "Xbox has no games" "XsX no exclusives first TWO years" and many other falsehoods are repeatedly cited by certain members with impunity. For the record I don't know who this particular poster is or if they're even an Xbox fan, I also don't think people should be banned in either case, but if you're going to be so nitpicky on something said about PS5, you need to apply that to Xbox as well.

5. I sincerely appreciate all of the lovely comments in here. You guys & gals are the reason I don't think I could ever leave permanently

People are shitting on the Game Gear Mini and no one gets banned for that! /joke

We can at least all unite on that stupid idea. :p

Sad to see when people decide to leave and request a Perm, just doing other things will cool you off and come back with a new perspective. I tend to do that a lot with certain Threads where I don't necessary agree with but I respect that people like to discuss in them.

To me there are a lot of ps fans who go off the rail like Geki-D Geki-D sorry man just saying we butted heads though i am a sony fan myself.

At the same time there are a lot of good xbox fans i know off who many times can be reasoned with and come to common grounds

Lady b was many times very hard core so i can see why this happened to him.

CatLady CatLady is the total opposite of lady b by still being an xbox fan.

My problem is with people who come at me or others out of the blue like The Pleasure The Pleasure either out of fun or anger or i dont even know.

There are a lot of weirdos here granted. And thats why we should not take everyone so serious its not healthy. You all have a real life outside here.

I'll ask you to do the same I've asked others who try to claim this: Quote me going into Xbox related threads and shitposting like a load of the Xbox fans do here, and get banned for doing. I do prefer Sony, but I stick to Sony threads and any consoling warring is in response to shitposting in said Sony threads.

I feel the allure of warring and one up showmanship is just too strong right now.

This is something GAF has always had, for example:

Ghost town. And I don't believe anyone made a new Xbox or Nintendo one after the site upgrade and community section reboot.

Would that catch a ban if pointed toward other groups? I haven't seen it. I think the mods try pretty hard to be lenient with people and give the benefit of the doubt. If someone said a school shooting was a "white man's crime" or that "most asians are super-racist", I don't think anyone would bat an eye, TBH.

That seems to be the usual standard in society writ large, anyway. Some people need to walk on eggshells, others can say what they want.

You want a reply explaining play by play? Okay

Condensation is when a gas or vapor turns into a liquid. Condensation in the air turns into misty dew on the blades of grass or perhaps morning dew on the petals of a flower. When I stated it, I meant it more as a joke on the condescending nature of either the French looking down on Americans or white people condescending upon uncultured swine about the exquisite nature of cheeses or the films that they watch. The criterion collection is oftentimes an elevated white person collection of what is "OKAY" to watch besides reading or other pursuits such as the theater or opera.

Mirth is when one is full of amusement in life or laughter. A funny man is oftentimes full of mirth. Fat people are often full of mirth as humor is one of their weapons of getting through life. The way you presented your response as "What the fuck this idiot is saying" is a quick jab at your ability to not differentiate the meanings of mirth. The joy in ones life in picking out the obscure and humorless.

The garden gnomes thing is just hilarious though. I always found Garden Gnomes funny as hell. Every time I think of lawn gnomes, I think of this

These types of threads really are the worst IMO. They end up becoming cult-esque echo chambers and then when when the participants step outside of those threads they have no idea how to handle it. They are like safe spaces, but for the worst types of crybaby console warriors. They only make matters worse and further reinforce the idea of factions and opposition.

If you don't believe me look at the dynamics of those types of threads on Resetera and how the most frequent participants behave when they do venture outside of those threads.

It's better that everyone stays in the melting pot and learns how to co-exist and have discussions without ripping each others heads off.

It's turning condensation to condescending as a slight change in words changing vapors turning into mist into condescending white people who look down on people who enjoy more low brow things.

The gnome is just a non sequitur that I found hilarious because it had nothing to do with anything and the picture made me laugh.

Of course you don't.
You ignored 99% of thelastword thelastword 's post and just quoted that so you can make your lame quip and earn some brownie points from your buddies? Nice job reinforcing the stereotype that your side is just blind and biased.

Then goes onto

Which circles round to:

This post should be engrained into all of our minds, especially those who want to make threads on the gaming discussion. I'll make sure to be mindful of removing any sort of bias or framing if I ever decide to make a next-gen related thread. Thanks for the insightful post, Bill O'Rights Bill O'Rights

You've been on here long enough to know that that's the case. Someone with the username with Malcolm in it was banned for racist posts. So were a couple other black posters that I remember.

The mods aren't SJWs... And from what I can tell, they were lenient with Yosh. Like I said, that wasn't the only post of his where he's said such things. You should know this.

It's turning condensation to condescending as a slight change in words changing vapors turning into mist into condescending white people who look down on people who enjoy more low brow things.

The gnome is just a non sequitur that I found hilarious because it had nothing to do with anything and the picture made me laugh.
You and i should sit down for a drink i feel there is a lot to learn from you.

Condesending white people are everywhere and as someone white from europe i had my fair share to be at the receiving end.
One of the reasons i left for good and be my own boss.

Gnomes are my enemy as those creepy little fuckers where everywhere around our house growing up they all had their names and given personality , dont even get me started on my grandmas doll collection.

As far as my vintage avatar, captain future is one of my all time favorite anime granted not many people here even heard of him given only a handfull episodes got translated into english.
But it was a major thing in europe and japan.
I have very fond memories and the soundtrack till today is stuck with me.
It was a more mature anime for all audiences. The show also by accident named 3 planets by name that where undiscovered back then.

Anyways lets move on before i get told i am off tooic here which i am

I didn't say anything about the mods being SJW's. I also said that the mods try and be lenient with people and give them the benefit of the doubt.

I said that the bar is higher in society in general for something to be considered 'racist speech' against some groups than it is for others. Do you disagree with that? If so, what do you disagree with?
