Apologies if already mentioned or if just obvious but on this blog the communications guy Sid Shuman shown at top of article did a comment in the comments not too far down about it being 4k for trailers after...

'The broadcast will be 1080/30, but the majority of trailers will be in 4K on YouTube after the show'

Maybe someone can pull the screenshot as can't ATM....

Yes, he confirmed what I was saying:
The event was produced in 1080p@30fps and will not be uploaded in 4K or anything like that.

It's just that separate gametrailers (and NOT ALL) will be available in 4K. Still, the whole event will not be uploaded as a 4K Stream, since it was only produced in 1080p@30fps - as I said.
Now, if EA or Square or whoever shows their game there has a trailer in 4K, they will uploaded that one afterwards, but the event itself will NOT be available in 4K - as I said.

But why would you want to watch the whole event again when you can choose to watch the games separately in 4k?

I wonder if we'll finally get a glance of Housemarque's first AAA project? It's no secret that they have been working on it for quite a while.

Yep that's what Im looking out for the most. That game would of been green lit by Don Shuhei. So you know its going to be fire.

As for the graphically fidelity talk. There is no debate. Playstation Studios dominate & have best looking games this gen period. Rockstar tried but it ain't it. Gears 5 is at most a number 10. If you dont include racers.

I just re-watched Ghost of Tsushima state of play 4K 60 & that shits fire. Its top 3 easy.

1 - Death Stranding
2 or 3 is between Ghost or Horizon both swappable. Maybe the robots edge it. But Ghost is crazy. Re-watch it in 4k.
4 - God Of War
5 - TLOU2
6- Uncharted 4
7- The Order 1886
8 or 9 Then its scrap between Infamous second son (high level particle effects), Red dead,
10 -Gears 5. IF YOU DONT INCLUDE RACERS

Not everyone has 4K. For example, all my home devices are 1080p.

.
Same here and I have no intentions of upgrading to 4k. 1080p is fine for me.
Gameplay won't magically become better because of higher resolution.

No it didn't. Someone earlier said the stream may be 1080p@30fps but 4K trailers would likely be posted after the event.

To which you replied:

Im not so sure about that though:

Hence you've tagged when it was confirmed to be the case. Not all of the content can be captured at 4K - see BGs BGs post above for an example of why. This will include talking segments where just people are on camera presenting. Production wise, given the additional circumstances, it's easier to put out the stream at 1080p 30fps then add trailers at 4K where possible.

Your eyes can’t see beyond 1080p so it’s a waste of money.

No.Not a waste of money at all. You can tell 4K from 1080P. 8K is excessive & not needed for home consumer. Its probably more for imax, cinema screens , Hollywood vfx productions.

But watching sports & in some games ,some movies 4K is nicer look. And worth it. Its not expensive now. Pretty cheap models out there.

Insomniac Games, show me your CGI-level Ratchet & Clank. I know you've been working on this for the past 4 years (with a small, Spidey pause).

what? The Sony guy confirmed that not all trailers will be uploaded in 4K:

The broadcast will be 1080/30, but the majority of trailers will be in 4K on YouTube after the show

so, not all trailers will be in 4K on YouTube. He is not saying not the whole event will be in 4K, so all the segments, he is talking about the trailers. Anyways, we will see after the event what they will upload in 4K.

The person you responded to was talking about trailers, not the full stream.

if there's a new god of war, i dont think my heart would take it

If anyone is wondering Jeet was one of the key developers of God of War (2018), I recommend watching the Raising Kratos documentary, really interesting stuff. Anyways, if he is teasing Thursday's event then it means they might show the God of War Sequel, I'll lose my shit if they do! lol

I was joking. I thought it was obvious. I have a 4K tv.

Well there you go.
May I use your post as a reference as I try to get a refund for my 4K TV? Thanks in advance.

Well thanks a lot Wraith Phantom!
I took the TV to the store for a refund and referenced hemo memos post and the clerk shook his head and said:

"Well, new science has shown that 4K CAN be told from 1080p." He then referenced YOUR post.

So I had to bring the TV home and he even managed to sell me 5 UHD Blu Ray movies and I only have a PS4 so they are useless.

You owe me

I hope new Silent Hill goes heavy psychological horror instead of jump scare way. I want the experience to be terrifying with as little jump scares as possible, this includes some stuff from P.T. which were jump scares that I believe were cheap shots and lessened an otherwise perfect horror.
It only had 1 jump scare though... (the bathroom scene doesn't count)

Thats why I liked the game so much. But I agree... the scariest things in horror/thriller isn't the "gore/jump scares" - its the anticipation of an unknown.

Knowing is a form of control. The less a player knows... the scarier things can be (less control).

Honestly if it were up to me and really wanted to terrorize players i'd hire NLP experts/Psychologists as advisors. But that might not be very ethical... :lollipop_horns:

Also the rumor of the heartbeat sensor would be thick...
