I totally get what you mean, buddy. They clearly went for the lowest common denominator while setting the tone...demographic being easily impressionable teens/twats.....I would have definitely cared for more of a Blade Runner '82 vibe instead of this "blockbuster" BS that this trailer gives the impression of.

Youre really making a big insult for CD Red there buddy

The developer already shows some 50 minutes gameplay before which shows lot of deep conversation

This just a little highlight of the action part

Cmon cmon guys show me that theres still something good left here in neogaf

Check the OP. I posted 2 videos of gameplay+impressions

I saw the Eurogamer one already, lots of driving and scripted sequences w/combat towards the end. Wasn't bad, but I'm hoping to see a bit more depth (WRT combat).

Trailer looks cool, the only thing I'm worried about is listening to the Twitch the host 'Jesse Cox' says that himself and a bunch of other Streamers will feature in the game, which frankly sounds fucking lame. I'm ok with Keanu Reeves as JSH but fuck this BS of sticking game personalities into media. Game looks dope already, why stick a bunch of youtube personalities in it to distract from the experience.
Especially when most people don't know who the fuck these people are...

The city seems to be empty, I had a completely different feeling after the 2018 trailer. Pop-in everywhere.

And gameplay rather comes from high end PC version so next gen will probably look similar.

should be very cool. personally not sure if the sci-fi aesthetic is up my alley to warrant playing it.

the fantasy world building is what made Witcher 3 for me.

The writers seem to like the f-bomb. So mature. So edgy. *sarcasm*

So... I'm confused on the story, can you play as a good guy in this game? It seems you play as just a complete degenerate? So far it really seems like the choices are very limited.... like you can only be a complete jerk-hole piece of trash... or a douchebag. No grey areas here, or chances to be a good guy it seems. No non-lethal options? The story looks very silo-ed, not very RPG like.

Looks too edgy for me... probably going to sit this one out.

Just my thoughts.

You judge it by a short trailer?

You know this game is made by CDProject ?

Some of the best videogame writer around right now?

God damnit some of you people here are getting absolutely ridiculous
You sound needlessly salty that someone doesn't like something you like. You should work on that, it's not a particularly likeable trait.

Since when do we judge video game writing like it’s a novel? Casual conversation is all that’s really required to push a story line forward. Go read a book if you want to lose yourself in great writing!

The car in the desert reminded me of gta!

I just hope there’s plenty to do when not on a mission. Side mission content was amazing in the Witcher so we should be good!

Also, seeing the alley way random encounter looked great!

I don't know if you've met scumbags and criminals before but let me assure you they're not all smiles and sunshine. My sweet little innocent shut-ins. We'll ask them to make it more moe for you.

Dialogue in every bit of footage has come across to me as forced and unconvincing. Its trying to be hard and edgy, but the acting isn't great and the f-bombs in every sentence approach strikes me as juvenile.

Totally agree with you on Blade Runner '82 vibe being much more appealing to the tin-ear "urban"-style they've gone for.

Same, but realistically it'll probably end up being a mod on PC. The videos I see the moment you go indoors all perspective that would accommodate a TPS just isn't there.

2500k/2600k overclocked are the processors that just won't die! Especially the 2600k

It was probably the most cost-effective purchase I've made since 2011, it wont die and keeps chugging along even with newer releases like Doom Eternal. I won't say I'm emotionally attached to it, but I have a lot of unconditional love for my 2500k :messenger_tears_of_joy:

It's a Cyberpunk game; it's source material is "edgy" if you will.. the world itself is corrupt and gritty.

Maybe you are unaware of that or something? Otherwise it's like coming into a thread about a Sesame Street game and calling it too childish.

Fare enough. I am not versed in the source material, but I was personally hoping for a latitude of choice in the game.

Right now it seems you just have these kinds of choices:

Bad
Really bad
Evil

I was hoping for at-least Neutral or Conflicted, where your at-least trying to do something good?

So did every character from GTA have some redemption arc I missed out on? Lots of gaming protags are shit people from start to finish lol. No way you gonna tell me James Earl Cash or Danny from Manhunt are redeemable after slaughtering hundreds of people brutally.

So many previews yet they all seem like a copy/ paste of each other and that gives no one pause?

I was reading the IGN preview while listening to Dorito Popes impressions and I had to stop because it was like hearing a cover song with the same beats over and over, and yet everything they described was exactly as it played out in the livestream and the 14 minutes of cutscenes "gameplay" that was released. Didn't they all play 4 hours of this open world game? Why are all the experiences the same?

Is this game anything more than just a series of first person cutscenes strung together by yellow dots on a map with a couple shooting sequences? I've yet to see anything to suggest otherwise.

Also all the action sequences look like shit, that car chase looked like you could not fire a single shot and itd play out the same.

This game is going to collapse under its own hype.

I was afraid they would tone down the sexy, or preach, or whatever. But no, nothing, it's a corrupt and sleazy world that pulls no punches, exactly like I imagined.

Hyped as fuck.

There is no "good" and "bad" in this genre, it is noir updated for the future. Cyberpunk protags are usually mercenary types with grey morals. The whole point of the setting is that the world has made everyone atomized and unhinged.

People need to chill when it comes to the "downgrade" stuff.

For an RPG it looks top tier, but expecting Red Dead 2 or TLOU2 level polish isn't realistic, again for an RPG this is the bar.
I completely disagree with this notion that RPGs should not be held to a higher standard. ESPECIALLY when there are plenty that are of the levels of Red Dead 2(hilarious and wrong that you mention this) and TLOU2. Even more wrong considering that one of these high level polish titles is Witcher 3 made by the same developer fyi. Then considering that, the reasons why the game has been delayed so much. The commitment to this level of polish that everyone is expecting of them. Now stop disrespecting the RPG genre.

Those games aren't RPG's claiming to be about player choice. Cyberpunk is. That's why I even brought it up. How can a game be an RPG about player choice when you only have options to a "bad guy?" Again... not claiming Cyberpunk doesn't have "grey or neutral" options. It's just all that has been shown so far are "bad guy options"

Looks fine, not much of the Blade runner style I like to see, but it´s ok. Why is there physical money though?.

Ps.- Locations feel a bit empty/barebones too.

This new look at gameplay does very little to quell my thrist for getting to play it myself. I was very intrigued by the Braindance and the Badlands segments though, a lot of really cool ideas going into this.

Everyone in this world has had to make some at least morally grey decisions to survive; it's kind of the gist of Cyberpunk. The police for instance are super corrupt as are companies/the rich, so it's difficult for anyone to not break the law at some point as the laws aren't fair.

After picking one of 3 starting characters (all of whom aren't exactly saints), the game still lets you then make totally different decisions as far as I can tell from the previews; for instance you can choose to kill or not to kill. But yes you start as 1 of 3 types of people likely involved in some sort of crime.

This looks absolutely phenomenal although there are certain indicators of current-gen roots. Games that come after the next-gen launch window should be the ones that really wow us. Cyberpunk 2077 is indeed a showpiece. I hope CDProjektRed can nail the gameplay and storytelling.

Okay, that makes sense. Mind you I've kinda been on a media blackout for this game gameplay wise since I want to surprise myself, but if what you're saying is true I understand completely.

I've skimmed through some of the previews and well looks good. I'm not in awe or anything but I know this will be one of the best games ever made. Fuck the delay tho it hurts more now.
