I'm excited for this game but I have seen everything I need to see, so I will just wait for the game to get released.

Today's initial Paper Mario reviews left me gutted. Curious to see what they gave WayForward, but I'm not crazy about that studio at all.

So is this a Nintendo franchise being farmed out to WayForward? Metroid or Kid Icarus maybe???

I paid good money for this Dynex!
I dunno if the WF announcement tomorrow is the big one I heard rumblings about a while back, but if it is... buckle up, kiddos.

(the one I'm thinking of has nothing to do with Nintendo)

Oh geez I get the feeling this will be a good announcement no matter what it is.

I'd be more than happy with 2D Metroid, Mario, or Castlevania.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez!

YO.

So, I'm just going to assume that WF title is tied to a Nin property and hope to christ its something awesome.

Edit: The dream is dead. Fucking. Dead.

In a perfect world it would be a remake of Zelda 2. WayForward already showed they wanted to do it with that Adventure Time game.

I'm glad Nintendo set expectations for the Wayforward game, but it is still interesting they mentioned them in the upcoming Treehouse. Looking forward to it!

could be, insiders are hesitant to call it a direct.
That's what I've been reading as well. I could see a few of these + mini (micro?) direct over the next week and a half or so. Might line up with the "not a direct" rumor.

I think the direct format is incredibly effective (so much so that even Sony does what Nintendid). Nintendo can be very strange about announcements though and sometimes I feel like that hurts them. I remember Stretchers getting announced in a tweet-that game might have done better if it had a spot in a direct.

I am excited to see this Treehouse presentation, and now the bonus will be Wayforward's reveal from a third party franchise. No one should dismiss them as a lackluster indie studio. People should be aware that they are steeped in old school 2D tradition when making their games. They have made the great Shantae games, rebooted classics like A Boy and His Blob, Duck Tales, Contra, and even made a stellar 2D Aliens game on the DS. Let's not forget that they also helped Iga on buttoning up Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. These people would be great for a Castlevania reboot and I hope that is what I see tomorrow.

Not to mention most recently (I think?) River City Girls.

Idk why I didnt google. This is a like a licensed games developer. I guess. EH.
Sort of but they've been around for a long time and made a name for themselves with their original IP and reboots as mentioned above. Certainly not your typical shovelware dev.

You are right. I can't believe I forgot this awesome game. I even own it on Steam too! It's an excellent game and I think I read recently they got the go ahead to make a sequel to this game too. Let me see if I can find that article. If so, perhaps that's what tomorrow's announcement is about?
