I still dont know where they got that. Its a speculation made on hype(ERA hype to be exact). I always said it would be Coalition, and Initiative is doing that Mark Lawrence game.

We didn't see any gameplay/great game coming from the studio, so it can be another elephant graveyard like the studios built by Amazon or Stadia. Let's wait and see. Games and specially big ones require time, but they also need to prove they can achieve great things without the teams they had before backing them.
Seeing that they hired mostly people from Tomb Raider, Riot, Naughty Dog and Insomniac, I assume that with this studio they will aim to do Microsoft's Uncharted/Tomb Raider type of IP/game, but with an important multiplayer component.

You'd have to think too early unless they just show concepts, the team is still fairly small I think. Especially if they're aiming for "AAAA" lol.

I think the Perfect Dark rumors stemmed from two things.
Phil Spencer went to the Initiative to play their game and they tweeted something along the lines of "We're doing old things in new ways" which people interpreted as an old franchise done in modern times.
Then there's this leak which seems pretty credible. An ex employee said The Initiative is working on a game that contains...
“weapons, gadgets, and a camera surveillance system.”
Put two and two together and you get Perfect Dark maybe?
Funny thing is, that after he finished his gig at The Initiative, he end up being Lead Gameplay Animator at Coalition Studio. Not the first and it hints that these studios are working close together

The Initiative was created to prevent other game developers from creating good games.
MSFT idea is to convert console gaming to a mobile gaming with subscription: thousands of faceless games for a flat price.
The Initiative won't make any AAA games for the whole generation.
That's my prediction.

I feel like this is more what they mean by AAAA than simply having a large team. They want to go after the absolute best devs, by offering them money and freedom they wouldn’t get elsewhere

Love it. Hopefully Xbox really brings the heat this generation. Current gen was pretty disapointing as far as exclusive experiences go imo.
They have all the pieces in place now to really bring it. Cant wait to see what their studios have been working on.

This studio has a lot of potential. I sincerely hope they have the right people in charge cause i dont wanna see another 343 where it takes 12 years to finally get it right.

This project is the one have the most excitement for, from xbox. Shame they ain't building something from the ground up for series X, have 90% of stuff be cross gen is great but thier should be atleast some stuff that is only possible on the X.

Matt Booty said 2 years from then(Holiday 2019), so it could be upto holiday 2021. Makes sense because I am hearing Forza Motorsport 8 is next gen exclusive and that is supposed to release on holiday 2021. Initiative only started their studio in 2018, so their game is not anytime soon. Infact Initiative probably wont be present in July 23 show.

Tbh if they do this show and announce forza isn't coming for atleast a year and the this project until even later they are gonna have problems.
Sony's 2021 is already looking pretty strong. Dont think gears and halo will be enough anymore.

They never actually clarified about this but we have a basic idea on what is coming to Xbox One and what is not.
Why does Forza have to be a launch title ? July 23 show will have Halo Infinite, The Medium, Hellblade II , Forza Motorsport 8, Obsidian and Playground Games(RPG project). 2021 is also the release of Bright Memory Infinite.
Oh so thats the narrative you are going for.

Because xbox exclusive are very thin and they need everything they can get, forza is a great franchise for bringing in fans of driving sims whereas halo n gears will only bring in fans of those franchises ( I'm a big gears fan and even I'm a bit fatigued with that franchise now). Also bright memory is not exclusive, so irrelevant.

That's not why at all. It's because of Game Pass. That's a huge focus for them and it would be the services funeral if they told all their subscribers they needed to buy a new console to have access to the newest games.

Didnt I say we have a basic idea of what is coming to Xbox One and what is not. For example Hellblade II is not coming to Xbox One. A game launching on Xbox One does not affect its quality, Halo Infinite is one of the best looking next gen games if you ask me.
I like how you ignored everything else(including The Medium, which is launch title and Series X console exclusive) I said and just went for Bright Memory Infinite. Bright Memory Infinite is timed exclusive.

But to respond to you, if u read my original comment I said have 90% of your titles cross gen is fine, having 10% exclusive is a great way to sell your console and push the industry forward while keeping gamepass an insane value prospect for either gen, especially now with xcloud included.
