It is known (and criticized) that DF has had exclusive access to Project Scorpio in the past. I think it was 2017 (I can be wrong). And travel and subsistence have been paid. Which sparked protests and accusations. But that is not a novelty. 10 years ago there was already a scandal related to DF and MS. It is an open secret ... DF lacks competition. It is clear that some pay better than others. You just have to look a little.

A lot of people love to ignore history and facts.

When it comes to PlayStation, Alex wastes no time in pointing out how lower quality effects are due to hardware limitations, while on Xbox it’s more of an engine limitation or a choice by the devs that can be improved upon.

Halo is 60 FPS and that matters, but Forza at 30 FPS vs GT 7 at 60 FPS is not worth mentioning.

I also remember when DF talked about screen space reflections in God Of War being a limitation of the hardware, but in Gears of War 5 it was a wonderful looking technique.

The green one on youtube is a small one, they have like 80-50% chance of surviving with broken bones which is 60-50 meters max. I don't want them to suffer, I want it to be fast and painless, I'm not heartless :lollipop_tears_of_joy: . The dry Sinkhole though is 250m deep, 90 Million cubic meter in volume (world's 3rd largest after 2 in China), so you can have all xbox fans there and yet you have enough room for Stadia:messenger_winking_tongue:.

The other photo posted is 211m deep, some call it "the well of the birds" as sometimes you find many birds flying in circles inside with lots of echos! There is a 4th one that hasn't been studied enough, as I'm aware, and might slide them right into the sea. We should throw just one there to know from the impact sound how deep it is.:lollipop_smirking:

It seems so, the worlds are in split screen mode.



This is where an SSD could really come in handy. This is more of preference, but it would be better IMO to push a button to switch/transition between both worlds. This would take no more than 3 seconds (if that).

The split screen, especially for a single player game would just give me a headache and cause me to strain most likely.
 
Probably because for Sony gaming department is very important. Its almost to be or not to be for them. And for MS is just another branch from many of them, and it has no special treatment. MS is just trying to divergence their revenue.
Dude stop with the bullshit that Sony cares about gamers and Microsoft doesn’t they’re only here for business. This is just console warrior non sense. Halo will still be the a best seller this holiday as will both consoles will sell out. All this doom and gloom is non sense.

Man those plates look quality... i wonder how much they would charge for customizable plates that aren't cheap junk. $60? $80? Special edition stuff $100? $120?

The way the thing is meant to be standing vertically though you would never see the plates while you play in front of the TV, just the black body in the middle. I guess it if laid on its side though it could be more visible but that's gonna take up a huge chunk of real estate on an entertainment center or dresser etc

Hmm... kind of want to use a vinyl wrap on that bad boy - if both plates are easily detachable, but ive read rounded corners/edges arnt nice for this.

Anyone have experience with vinyl shrink wrapping? (Also wonder if consoles generated heat and texture of plates, would pose a problem. But ive seen examples of this being used for PC cases. If so are there alternatives to more heat resistant shrink wraps?)

Edit: this is probably a very dumb idea, the amount of air bubbles would ruin results.

I think you guys are being too harsh on DF. Alex is right, they have never done a video like this. Especially for Microsoft. I can only imagine the internal struggle that he went through as he made this video. Imagine if TheLastWord had to do a video like this for a PS exclusive. It will completely go against the very fiber of his being. lol

I think this video was titled accurately and you have to put in context. I do think they need to go back to the original slipstream engine trailer and do a full compare. It was recommended to me on youtube, and Richard was gushing over it like a school girl calling it next generation. Although, looking at what they ended up producing, it's clear it was next gen and entirely impossible to do on current gen consoles.

I think that is where they will get even more harsh as they do a scene by scene comparison and see how fucking terrible it looks compared to that so-called in-engine trailer.

Yeah medium went from interesting to dead ito me the first time I realised it was split screen.

I was excited it was like titanfall where you skip between worlds.

Split screen views are claustrophobic feeling when playing, no thanks.

My niece is 5 now, image her delight as she walks down the road holding onto her new teddy. Can you imagine all the people stopping and asking her, who's your new friend.

If it's A4, then the piece is narrower than the width of the PS4pro, but about 1.3x the depth. If.
A4 standard paper is 21 x 29.7 cm (8 and 1/4 x 11 and 3/4 inches)
Edit: my very rough estimate of the piece of plastic in the first photo would be 42 x 27 cm.
Aspect ratio of A4 is 1.4:1. The paper in that image is ~1.8:1. I came up with the following with just rough pixel counts in GIMP:

464 l
257 w
paper 1.8:1 l:w

538 l
432 w
ps5 1.2:1 l:w

l ps5 : paper 1.16:1
w ps5 : paper 1.68:1

I can't find any chinese paper formats that fit the 1.8:1 AR, so not sure where to start. I don't think it's A4, but that could be down to distortion of the image. I'm not an expert at extrapolating sizes from images, so I'd be interested in seeing what people who are better at this come up with. If I knew the paper format, I'd have more to work with.

If it was A4, the PS5 would be roughly 34.5cm tall, and 35.3cm wide. That doesn't jive with the AR of the PS5 shell, which is easier to figure out than the paper. Maybe I should just use the long side of the paper, in which case, the PS5 comes out to 34.5cm tall, and 27.7cm wide (which is a 1.24:1 AR, which matches what I get with pixel count). That's if A4 paper. Meh...I'm most-certainly wrong, but thought I'd give it a shot anyway.

In my personal opinion is I like DF work but not from Alex that is why I always mention him not DF, I love the work of John.

Any indie dev which doesn't form part of some xbox discord can tell you that video borderline misleading and the same video looks more as excuse than other thing and not

Let's put it in this way, even if Alex is impartial his video still not be correct to say the RT will fix the plain look of the game and the video seems to be communicating the wrong
message, especially coming from someone as picky as he.

BTW It is time MS just HAS TO remove those fucking 'Native 4K' labels on their projected new game covers for Series X, the frame buffer might be 4K but there will be A LOT of reconstruction and/or VRS shenanigans going on in the render phase that outputting at the native res of UHD TVs will mean too little shit when in fact the screen is littered in myriad of 720p or 1080p textures.

This just proves MS is no better and still pushing 'Native 4K' for their perceived power narrative with their sucking VRS in play when in fact Sony CB rendering is objectively better and their latest examples on games currently in the market can't be even discerned by DF or any other pixel counters!

It's marketing crap. "Full/True 4K" feel every pixel or whatever. NONE of their games are "True 4K", they are 4K UHD.
